Sonic, completely de-roboticized, stood between his siblings as they stood behind their parents on the steps of the palace.
Today, the monarchy was being dissolved. The (formerly) royal triplets only found this out a week before the proceedings, but the process had begun about a couple months beforehand.
Sonia wiped her eyes with a tissue, clearly disappointed at the proceedings.
Manic simply stared off into space, bored out of his mind.
Sonic sighed. He was bored too, but was told that he and Manic had to keep their mouths shut by order of their parents.
Manic looked at Sonia as she accidentally sobbed out loud. “What’s your deal, sis?” He whispered. “We’re still gonna be wealthy.”
“I dreamed of being a princess.” Sonia whispered back.
“But we have our family.” Sonic whispered.
Sonia wiped her eyes. “That’s true.”
Aleena stepped over. “It’s time to go.”
“Wow, really?” Sonic asked.
“I’m not complaining.” Manic shrugged.

The triplets sat together in one seat of the limo.
Their parents sat across from them.
Manic drummed his fingers on the door panel.
“So now what?”
“We’ll live in my maternal grandparents’ estate in Green Hills.” Aleena said. “So what are you going to do after your vacation?”
“We’ll start touring.” Sonic replied. “Now, we have all the time and freedom to write more songs and play concerts.”
“You all are always welcome at home when you’re done touring.” Aleena said.
“We’ll keep your rooms fixed up for you.” Brenden added.
“Thanks, Dad.” Sonic replied. “So would you like us to be the band for your wedding?”
Aleena and Brenden exchanged glances.
“Didn’t we tell you three that we got married in Tashistan right after we found out we were expecting you three?” Aleena asked.
“I don’t think so.” Sonic replied.
“She told us before you were roboticized, bro.” Manic said.
Sonic sighed. “Have you all figured out how to restore the rest of my memories?”
“The doctor said it will take some time for you to fully recover.” Sonia replied. “It’s like recovering from a concussion.”
Manic patted Sonic on the back. “Hey, at least you have most of your memories back.”
Sonic grinned. “I should really count my blessings for that, huh?”
Sonia looked out the window at the large mansion set in a lush green valley with a stone fence and iron gates. “Whoa, is that our house?”
Aleena looked out the window. “That’s it.”
Manic grinned. “I could get used to this.”
“So can I.” Sonic said. He motioned to the large loop-the-loop structures. “I can’t wait to run around on those things.”
“As soon as the doctor clears you.” Aleena said. “That should be soon. He said you’re doing well.”
Sonic half smiled. “Can’t wait.”
