This is somewhat of an epilogue/short story after someone asked me about a sequel and got me thinking about the possibility of a version of Sonic and Manic existing in Sonia’s universe

Sonia, Manic, and Sonic stood on the porch of the little gray and lavender house.
Sonia lightly bounced on her feet. “I can’t wait to meet her.”
The door finally opened.
Aleena gasped. “Sonia?” She asked. “Sonic? Manic?”
Sonic looked at Sonia. “I thought you said you were an only child.”
“I thought I was.” Sonia replied.
“What happened to our counterparts?” Manic asked.
“Counterparts?” Aleena asked.
“It’s a long story.” Sonia replied. “May we come in?”

Aleena set her tea cup on her coffee table. “I can’t say an alternate dimension is unbelievable when Sonic and Manic are here.”
“So what happened to your Sonic and Manic?” Sonic asked.
Aleena shook her head. “Something went wrong during their births.” She replied. “They didn’t make it. Sonia and I barely survived. I was battling depression and couldn’t give Sonia the attention she needed, so I gave her to my aunt and uncle. I couldn’t work up the nerve to reach out; I felt like I failed her.”
“You didn’t fail me, Mother.” Sonia said, hugging Aleena.
Manic blinked back tears.
Sonic wiped his eyes with his hand.
The brothers gave themselves a minute to compose themselves.
Aleena handed Sonic and Manic a box of tissues.
“Our Sonia died during surgery to remove a tumor.” Sonic said finally. “Our parents died during the war. Your dimension never had the war.”
“Is that why you left your dimension?” Aleena asked.
“That and we got in trouble when Manic lied and said our mission was to help Sonia.” Sonic said. “It was worth it.”
Sonia side hugged Manic and Sonic. “They’re amazing brothers,” She said. “They encouraged me to pursue my dream of being a singer.”
“You’re Miyu?” Aleena asked.
“Yeah, it’s my stage name.” Sonia replied. “But we decided to step away from the solo artist thing and become the Sonic Underground.”
“You’ve heard of us?” Manic asked.
“Yeah, I saw one of your concerts before, but I didn’t realize it was you.” Aleena replied.
Aleena’s phone chimed.
Aleena sighed. “I wish we could talk all day, but I have to go to work and talk to the landlord later about renewing my contract.”
“We have an extra room.” Sonia said. “You’re welcome to move in with us.”
Sonic and Manic nodded in agreement.
“I couldn’t intrude on you three.” Aleena said, getting up. “I’m sure you want your independence.”
“We still have it.” Manic replied. “Please, Ma. We want you to stay with us. Sonic and I never got to meet our parents.”
“Okay.” Aleena said. “Can you help me move my stuff out later?”

Sonic, Sonia, and Manic were hanging out in their dressing room backstage at the Mobotropolis civic center.
Sonic jogged in place, Manic drummed his fingers on top of the vanity, and Sonia brushed her hair as she looked in the mirror.
Aleena came in. “Sorry, I’m late.” She said, “There was traffic.”
Sonic hugged Aleena. “You’re just in time.”
The intercom crackled on. “Sonic Underground, you’re on in five minutes.” A male voice said over the loudspeaker.
“Showtime.” Sonic said as Sonia and Manic walked over.
The siblings hugged Aleena. “Thanks for coming.”
“Thank you for finding me.” Aleena said. She let them go. “Break a leg.”
