Sonic, Shadow, and Manic sat on a bench at the mall.
Sonic tapped his foot impatiently. “Why do they take so long to shop for shoes?”
“My wife doesn’t take an eternity to look for shoes.” Manic said, crossing his arms.
“Neither does mine, but she has to help Sonia pick shoes out so we don’t have to do it.” Sonic replied.
Shadow sighed as he scrolled through his phone. “What is his deal this time?”
“Who are you talking about?” Sonic asked.
“Eggman.” Shadow replied. “He’s apparently created his own Jurassic Park on his private island just off the coast of Port Mobius.”
Manic leaned forward. “You mean with robots or did he actually clone dinosaurs?”
“He said he cloned them, but you know how he is.” Shadow replied.
“So are we going there?” Manic asked.
Sonic and Shadow look at Manic.
“Are you serious?” Sonic asked. “You saw the movies and you’re gonna ask something so stupid?”
“I wanna see a velociraptor, bro.” Manic replied.
“From what?” Shadow asked. “The inside?”
Manic sighed. “I’m sure you and Sonic are faster than a raptor.”
“I hate to say it, but we probably do need to check things out.” Sonic said.
Manic grinned. “Sweet, we can take the girls.”
“So they can be dessert?” Sonic asked.
Manic sighed. “Like I’m gonna sit back and let them get killed.” He replied. “Surge will freak out if I don’t take her to see the dinos.”
“Okay, fine.” Sonic said. “We’ll take them. Hopefully, it’ll be a walk in the park.”
“Yeah, that’s how it starts.” Shadow replied. “Then there’s running and screaming.”
“Thanks, Dr. Malcolm.” Sonic said.
Manic snickered. “Everything’s Chaos with you.”
Shadow’s eyes and spines lit up. “One more stupid joke and you’re getting a Chaos blast.”
Sonic and Manic held their hands up defensively.
Shadow turned his attention back to his phone.
Sonic and Manic settled back in their seats and started playing games on their phones.
