After witnessing the deaths of her friends and their Digimon partners, Kari Kamiya and Gatomon must team up with the Sailor Senshi, Digimon Data Squad and the Sailor Starlights to defeat the Dark M...
0Unrated
Kari Kamiya and her Digimon partner, Gatomon were running away from thousands of what she thought were Digimon, some of the Digimon were ones even Gatomon didn't know about. Kari had never run out of fear before. She ran while Gatomon bravely fought the Digimon in another attempt to stall them. Kari fell and twisted her ankle.
'Darn it. Why did this have to happen?' She thought as she tried to get up. Gatomon saw her partner injure herself and ran to her side.
"Kari, are you okay?" Gatomon asked her, concerned.
"I'll be fine, Gatomon. I just twisted my ankle."
Gatomon looked around. No Digimon had followed them.
'I must have stopped them that time. But I know evil Digimon will be back. Now with Kari's injured ankle, we might not have the chance to make a mistake.' She thought.
"Gatomon, why did this happen?" Kari asked. Her eyes were filled with tears as she remembered what had transpired.
Flashback
"What's up, big brother?" Kari asked Tai.
"Izzy picked something up. Something big."
"Probably the Sailor Senshi fighting again." Izzy argued with him.
"I doubt it. Sure these Sailor Senshi have defeated many monsters, but nothing this big." A small, orange dinosaur noted.
"I'm glad Agumon said that. In fact he was the one who picked this up and came here." Tai said.
"True." Izzy acknowledged before sitting down and pulling out his laptop.
A insectoid Digimon resembling a ladybug flew down.
"Anything, Tentomon?" Izzy asked his partner.
"Nothing out of the ordinary." Tentomon replied.
Kari looked at her brother, then at her Digimon partner Gatomon.
"What's going on, Kari? Do you see anything?" Tai asked his sister.
"We felt a eerie presence before running over here." Gatomon purred.
"Really? Where?"
Kari, T.K, Patamon and Gatomon turned and ran in the direction of the presence. Tai, Izzy, Agumon and Tentomon ran after them.
"Here." Kari said as they stood in front of a dark alley. "It's still here and I'm getting the chills standing here."
Tai and Izzy felt it as well. The two glanced at each other before Izzy said something. "I believe this is a section of the Digital World."
Tai was confused like he normally was when Izzy said something like this. Then they noticed that this was now a group meeting.
"Oh hey, guys." Tai greeted the others.
"Tai, this is a strong, evil presence." Sora noted.
Gatomon suddenly assumed a fighting stance.
Kari noticed this, but before she could ask any questions a big blast came out of the alley, striking all the Digidestined and Digimon. T.K and Kari were the only Digidestined that were still alive. They saw that almost all the Digimon were gone. Gatomon let out a hiss as Kari gasped after seeing who had taken out most of the Digidestined. "Machinedramon!"
"It makes sense." T.K said as he and Kari ran off.
"Get them! They cannot escape. Giga Cannon!" Machinedramon shouted.
The mechanical Digimon fired at T.K. Kari gasped in shock after T.K and Patamon were hit and sent flying towards her. Kari and Gatomon carried their companions away.
"T.K." Kari whispered, looking at her boyfriend's bleeding body.
"Kari, run!" T.K yelled.
"I refuse." Kari argued.
"Kari, you must live. I cannot go with you. Learn to love again. Avenge us." T.K said as he closed his eyes for the final time.
"NO!" Kari screamed as tears ran down her eyes.
"Gatomon, protect Kari. Do your best." Patamon told the champion level Digimon.
Gatomon clenched her paw tightly as her friend turned into data and disappeared. "Kari, there's nothing we can do for them. We have to escape. Machinedramon must think we're dead as well."
"You're right." Kari agreed, before getting to her feet. The two then noticed eerie, red eyes in the forest.
"Uh, we should run!" Kari shouted, knowing the source of the eyes.
The two ran away as fast as they could.
End Flashback
Gatomon and Kari heard evil laughter and looked up to see Machinedramon along with the Digimon they escaped from earlier.
"Oh no." Kari whispered. She knew her time was up.
Gatomon balled her fist. "Kari, I'll always be your friend. It has been a honor."
"Gatomon!" Kari shouted as she grabbed her Digimon partner by the tail.
"Kari, let me go! Save yourself!"
"No, you're my friend. If something happened to you, I'll never forgive myself."
"Kari, all of us fought to protect you. It's my duty, so sorry." Gatomon dug her claws into Kari's hands. Kari let go as she stepped back towards the cliff.
She looked down.
'There's nowhere to run, plus I don't know if I'll make it.'
Machinedramon grabbed Gatomon and threw her at Kari. Kari saw her chance and grabbed Gatomon.
"Giga Cannon!" Machinedramon shouted.
Gatomon watched the attack get closer as she sadly looked at Kari.
'I failed.' She thought.
Before Machinedramon's attack hit them, Kari jumped off the cliff.
"Are you mad?" Gatomon asked as she held onto a tree root.
"Shh. Thank goodness you're holding onto that." Kari said as the cannon whizzed past them.
Kari then grabbed her Digivice. "Let's get out of here while we still can. Digi-Armor Energize!"
Gatomon caught on quickly to what she had planned. "Okay. Gatomon armor digivolve to...Nefertimon, the Angel of Light!"
As soon as Gatomon digivolved into a flying white sphinx, Kari grabbed the root as Nefertimon flew off then underneath Kari. She let go and then landed on her Digimon partner.
"Let's retreat for now. We need to find new teammates and Digimon allies. It seems a new threat has surfaced and the Dark Masters are back."
"Correct, some of those monsters were definitely not Digimon. I fought two of them as Gatomon and they just turned into dust, disappearing for good." Nefertimon said.
Suddenly, Machinedramon's attack hit Nefertimon.
"He can hit us from far away?" Kari asked as Nefertimon groaned and continued flying.
"It sure looks like it." Nefertimon said as another attack hit her rear end.
It caused Kari to fall off. In response, she grabbed Nefertimon's back legs before reaching forward and grabbing her front legs, holding on for dear life.
"Uh Kari, you're too heavy and there's no time for you to get onto my back when you let go." Nefertimon told her.
"Um, this may be a bad question but is this a bad thing?"
Nefertimon took one last look before noticing a big building up ahead.
"If you think crashing into a building is fun, then no." Nefertimon said sarcastically.
"Uh oh." Kari said as she let go of Nefertimon. She hit the ground and blacked out while Nefertimon tried her best to avoid it but crashed into the temple, leaving her imprint in the shrine before she turned back into Gatomon who laid unconscious near Kari. A priestess and her grandfather were puzzled with the new marking on the shrine.
'Darn it. Why did this have to happen?' She thought as she tried to get up. Gatomon saw her partner injure herself and ran to her side.
