Sonia sat at the desk in hers and Shadow’s living room of their new house.
Shadow stepped into the room. “You sure you don’t want to do the hero stuff with us anymore?” He asked. “GUN has a few more job openings.”
“There’s not much of that to do now.” Sonia replied. “There’s a lot of work to do for the rebuilding efforts. Besides, Manic and Sonic will realize it was me instead of Mother.”
Shadow nodded. “I understand.”
“Besides, it’s in the safe whenever I need it.” Sonia said, getting up. She walked over to Shadow and hugged him. “Be careful out there, love.”
Shadow kissed Sonia as Sonic and Manic walked in.
“Hey, hands off my sister.” Sonic said.
Shadow let go of Sonia and glared at Sonic. “You do know she’s my wife, right?”
“I’m messing with you.” Sonic said, patting Shadow on the back. “You’re somehow grouchier when you haven’t had coffee.”
Shadow opened the door. “Let’s go, we got a lot of work to do.”
Sonic and Manic hugged Sonia.
“See ya, sis.” Sonic and Manic said.
“See you boys later.” Sonia replied. “I’ll meet you all for lunch as soon as Mindy and I finish our work with the hospital.”
Shadow, Sonic, and Manic left the house.
Sonia headed back to her computer. She shut it off, picked up her phone, then headed for the door. She called Mindy.
“I hope you’re on the way.” Mindy said. “There’s a stomach bug going around and we have to set up two whole wings of the Mobotropolis hospital.”
“I’ll be there soon.” Sonia said, activating her air shoes as she stepped outside her house. “G’bye.”
Sonia hung up and skated for the hospital.
