Sonic and Sally snuggled up on a hammock on the beach at Emerald island.

“Told you the sunsets here are amazing, didn’t I?” Sonic asked.

“‘Amazing’ doesn’t do it justice.” Sally replied. “Happy Valentine’s Day.”

Sonic kissed Sally. “Happy Valentine’s Day.

Manic walked in the door of his and Surge’s home. “Hey, Babe, sorry about that.” He said, sitting down on the couch beside Surge.

Surge sipped her coffee. “Why did your ma call you at six in the morning?”

“She woke up early and was going to take a shower, but something was wrong with her water heater.” Manic said. “Tails is out of town, so that left me to fix it. Then, she insisted I sit and have breakfast with her. She made waffles, I couldn’t say no.”

“Oh, okay.” Surge replied.

“A’ight, I’m gonna take a shower and get another cup of coffee.” Manic said. “I was thinking we could get sushi and take you to your favorite shops, let you pick out some new button pins. Then, get some gelato and watch a movie at home. How’s that sound?”

“Eh, I don’t know.” Surge replied. “It’ll be crowded.”

“C’mon, babe.” Manic said. “It’s Valentine’s Day.”

Surge shrugged. “So? It’s a cheesy holiday.”

“Yeah, but you have me to celebrate it with.” Manic said, grinning.

“But I’d have to put on a bra.” Surge replied. “I’d rather not.”

“Anxiety or just not feeling it?” Manic asked.

“Not feeling it today.” Surge replied.

Manic ran his hand through his spines “It would be crowded today.” He said. “Okay, but we’re going out tomorrow for a little while when the mall opens up. I’ll order sushi for us and you can pick out a movie to watch.”

Surge hugged Manic. “Thanks, Babe.”

Manic stroked Surge’s spines. “You’re welcome.” He said. “You’re making progress, I’m proud of you.”

“Thanks.” Surge replied.

Manic held Surge as they snuggled under a blanket on their couch.

Manic stroked Surge’s spines. “Do you like the movie, babe?”

“It’s a lame killer sheep movie, it is what it is.” Surge replied. She laughed. “What was that supposed to be?”

“That would be the sheep.” Manic said. He checked his watch. “Finally, after an hour and ten minutes.”

“At least it’s not as bad as that weird alien bug movie we watched last week.” Surge replied.

Manic kissed Surge. “Love ya, babe.” He said. “Happy Valentine’s Day.”

“Love ya too.” Surge replied. “Happy Valentine’s Day.”
