Sonia sat in her little home in Mobodoon, staring out the window as she sipped tea.
Shadow walked in and sat down beside her. “How was counseling?”
“Fine.” Sonia muttered. “If I had known Sonic and Manic had rings, I wouldn’t have done that. I understand why you didn’t tell me about your plans.”
Shadow stroked Sonia’s spines.
“I can’t believe I went so crazy.” Sonia said. “How can I make it up to my brothers? They won’t ever speak to me again.”
“I spoke to Manic.” Shadow replied. “He said they’re not willing to see you in person yet, but maybe they’ll video call you. You’re lucky they’re willing to even try that.”
“You did that for me?” Sonia asked.
“Of course.” Shadow replied. He kissed Sonia. “You’ll always be my queen.”
“Thanks, Shadow.” Sonia said.

Manic and Sonic gathered by Sonic’s computer.
“Are we sure we want to do this?” Sonic asked.
Manic shrugged. “I don’t know if I ever want to visit her again, but I’ll at least hear her out over FaceTime.”
Sonic nodded. “I guess that’s fair.” He said. “At least she took my advice. Maybe she won’t be so crazy since the monarchy has been dissolved.”
“Alright, then.” Manic said. He dialed Sonia’s number.
A few minutes later, Sonia answered.
“Hey, sis.” Sonic and Manic said.
“Hey, boys.” Sonia replied. “I’m so sorry about everything. I never should’ve done that to you.”
“I forgive you.” Sonic and Manic said.
“How’s counseling?” Manic asked.
“Good.” Sonia replied. She laughed weakly. “It’s funny, I actually like having a normal life. I can plan out my day, do what I like, and marry who I want. I don’t have to worry about being bothered by reporters.”
“Told you it was better, sis.” Sonic said.
Sonia nodded. “You did.” She replied. “I’m so sorry. I wish I could completely make it up to you, but I don’t know how.”
“This is a start.” Manic said. “It’s gonna take a while to rebuild our trust. We don’t know about visiting you, but we’ll definitely talk to you over this for right now.”
“Thanks, boys.” Sonia replied.
“Thanks for giving us Dad’s letters to us.” Sonic said. “Really wish we could’ve seen him before he got sick.”
Manic sighed, hanging his head. “Or at least tried to call him.”
“He understood, boys.” Sonia said. “He wished things had been different too.”
Sonic and Manic glanced out the window.
“Sorry, sis, we’ll have to call later.” Sonic said. “Eggman is at it again. Love you.”
“Love you, sis.” Manic replied.
“Love you too, bros.” Sonia said.
Sonic and Manic hung up and raced out of Sonic’s house.
