Sonic hasn’t seen his siblings since Sonic Underground was canceled. He’s surprised to find the real reason why he hadn’t heard from them in so long after they finally reunite

Sonic tapped his foot as he waited for the new actress to show up for promotional pictures for the new comic. He looked at Tails. “So why did we hire Surge again?”
Tails furrowed his brow. “We?”
“Yeah, the company.” Sonic said. “I know.”
Shadow walked over. “New girl’s car broke down.” He said. “Her husband had to fix it. They’re on their way now.”
“She’s married?” Sonic asked.
“They wrote her ring into the script.” Tails replied.
“How did you know about her car, Shadow?” Sonic asked.
“Sort of friends with her husband.” Shadow replied.
Sonic laughed. “You have friends?”
Sally ran over to Sonic. “Uhm… Sonic?” She asked. “When’s the last time you heard from your brother?”
Sonic gave a low whistle. “Ooh, I hadn’t spoken to him since Mom’s funeral.”
“Which was right before Underground was cancelled.” Sally said.
“Why are you bringing up Manic?” Sonic asked. “Does this have to do with the Sonic Blitz rumors or the Sonic universe thing? Wait, is he okay?”
“He’s okay.” Sally replied. “No, it’s-”
Surge walked in. “Sorry, I’m late.”
“Ah, it’s cool.” Sonic said. “Glad your husband could-”
“Hey, bro.” Manic said, walking over to Sonic and Surge.
Sonic did a double take at his brother. “Manic? What’re you doing here?”
“Supporting my girl.” Manic said, putting his arm around Surge.
Sonic’s jaw dropped. “You’re married? When did this happen?”
“About fifteen years ago.” Manic replied.
“And you don’t call to tell me?” Sonic asked.
“Can’t get through to you because your personal assistant apparently doesn’t know we’re actually siblings and/or doesn’t remember our show.” Manic replied. “Blocked me pretty quickly and wouldn’t answer my calls.”
Sonic sighed. “I’m sorry.” He said. “I had no idea that was happening.”
Manic checked his watch. “So how long will this take?” He asked. “I gotta pick up the kids from school in a few hours.”
“You have kids too?” Sonic asked. He looked at Shadow. “You’re friends with him and you haven’t bothered to tell me?”
“I was trying to stay out of this mess, per Sonia’s demands.” Shadow replied. “She’s pretty angry with you and they get into some rants about you whenever they call each other.”
“How do you know my sister?” Sonic asked.
“We’ve been married since my first solo game.” Shadow replied.
“And we have an twelve year old daughter, thanks for blocking me, Sonic.” Sonia said as she walked in.
“So you couldn’t tell me anything, Shadow?” Sonic asked. “You see me nearly every time we work and you can’t mention this?”
“Not my business, according to your sister.” Shadow said. “Besides, I prefer not to deal with you on my days off.”
Sonia crossed her arms. “Why didn’t we get parts outside of Sonic Underground and that one comic thing?”
Manic crossed his arms. “Why are we blacklisted?”
“That wasn’t my fault.” Sonic replied. “That was Sega, not me.”
“You don’t have any clout at all?” Sonia asked. “You’re their mascot.”
“They shoot my ideas down every time.” Sonic replied. “You can thank that whole Archie ordeal for that, I think. It’s certainly not my doing.”
Sally nodded. “Ruined my career too.”
“I tried to fight that idea.” Sonic said. “Nothing. Finally got them to knock off the SonAmy stuff.”
Shadow noticed a stage hand trying to get their attention. “Alright, we gotta get to work.”
Sonia hugged Shadow. “Break a leg, sweetie.”
Sonic snickered.
“Not a word.” Shadow said, glaring at Sonic.
Manic hugged and kissed Surge. “You’re gonna do great, Babe.” He said. “I’m so proud of you.”
Sonia glanced at Manic as Surge, Shadow, and Sonic walked away. “I’ll pick up your kids, bro. You should stay here for Surge.”
“Thanks, sis.” Manic replied.

Sally drove herself and Sonic home as Sonic stared out the window that afternoon.
Sonic sighed. “So do you want to be my social media manager, Sal?” He asked. “At least you won’t block Manic and Sonia.”
“I might as well.” Sally replied. “It’ll be easier now that the kids are older.”
“Great, I’ll fire the old one.” Sonic said.
“So about Sonia and Manic.” Sally replied. “I think you three need to hang out. Maybe you should take them to that resort you were given passes to for your birthday.”
Sonic glanced at Sally. “I thought you wanted to go.”
“I’d actually prefer a quiet day at home.” Sally replied. “I can do some reading, try out a new hobby.”
“Alright, if you think it’s a good idea.” Sonic said.
“You need to reconnect with them.” Sally replied. “It’s the least you can do after what happened.”
“You’re right.” Sonic said. “I’ll call them later.”
Tails furrowed his brow. “We?”
