Squall is pale and firm-skinned, not unlike when he was a child, though Irvine has trouble remembering that as clearly as he remembers everyone. And now, he knows, those memories will be perverted by actions like this and the effects of Guardian Forces, mixing fantasy with reality until all he can remember is that Squall is beautiful and slightly chill to the touch, and that there is a certain longing when, after they are done, Squall leaves and returns to a girl who knows nothing of the new marks on his pale skin.

Irvine wishes he were more like Squall.
