Jade and Litzy were the last ones to get to the hospital, mostly because Litzy had Jade pull through a McDonalds drive-thru so she could get three McGriddles, and this led to him parking and grilling her for twenty minutes as to when she started eating things like McGriddles anyway, and lecturing her about how disgusting it was. She was never a vegan but she was vegetarian-ish most of the time. All while he was lecturing she was stuffing McGriddles in her face. Then when they got back on the road she suddenly said:
"Uh oh. Pull over. I'm gonna lose my McGriddles."
"It'd serve you right," he laughed, thinking she was joking.
Only she really did lose them. All over the floor of the car. Jade screamed as though his very life was in danger.
"Oh my God! You puked in my car!!! WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH YOU?!" he yelled, horrified.
"Dude, it's a rental," she said, grabbing some napkins and pulling herself together. "I'm really sorry. But seriously, I'm the one who should be upset. I have months of this to go through."
"What are you talking about?"
"Uh nothing. Nevermind," she said, with an innocent smile. "Oh great. Now I'm hungry again. Dammit!"
Jade looked at her like she was some kind of alien. She could only laugh at the horrified look on his face.
"We gotta stop and clean the car," he said.
So by the time they had at least halfway neutralized the smell of partially digested McGriddles from the car and made their way to the hospital, everyone was already there. Adam, Hunter and Davey. Adam and Hunter they found in the second floor waiting room. Jade made sure to tell them about her McGriddles faux pas in the car. Being quicker or maybe just a bit more suspicious than Jade, they started to ask her if there was something they should know and hint towards her being pregnant. She didn't know if, when, or how Davey planned on telling anyone, so she remained aloof about it.
"Where's Davey?" she interjected over the bickering.
"He's in with Tyler," Adam said.
"Oh," she said, looking down. "What happened to him?"
Everyone went somber.
"He uh, he went to a bar to drink and forget the whole thing last night I guess," Hunter said. "It was a gay bar not too far off of 70. It turns out that night there were some guys hanging around in the parking lot looking for trouble. They beat him within an inch of his life. He hasn't regained consciousness once since they brought him here."
"Oh my God," she said, hand flying to her face. "This is terrible."
Jade put his arms around her.
"I hope he'll be okay," she said. "He's a little snot, but nobody deserves that."
"He's a good guy, Litzy," Jade said. "You just see his bad side because you both want the same thing."
"His sister should be here by noon," Hunter said.
"I'm gonna go see him," Litzy said, leaving the comfort of Jade's embrace.
She went to the nurse's station and explained who she was and who she wanted to see. She was pointed in the right direction and given a room number. She went down the hall and stopped in front of the room, looking through the glass. She stopped in her tracks for two reasons. He looked awful. He was hooked up to machines and covered in casts and bandages. His face was swollen and skin was black and blue. But what made her even sadder than that, was the fact that Davey was sitting with him, holding his hand.
And he was crying.
How much did he care for Tyler? Did she even have a clue? Did it matter? Because he would never care for her the way he did for him. She could have his baby, but she would never be his girlfriend. She stepped back and stood there, with so many conflicting emotions her head was spinning. Then she realized she really was lightheaded. She needed to eat or rest, and she was leaning toward just resting for a moment but she didnt want to face the boys and their questions. She took a left and headed to the other end of the hall where she found a smaller waiting room that had an extra comfy-lookng sofa. She sat down for a moment and just leaned back, closing her eyes.
How did everything get so serious?
Before she knew it, she'd fallen asleep wondering.
Davey left Tyler's room desperately needing some comfort, but when he reached the waiting room Litzy wasn't there.
"How is he?" everybody asked.
"Terrible..." he said, not even knowing what to say.
"I'm really sorry," Hunter said.
"Me too," Adam and Jade added.
"Thanks guys. Jade, where's Litzy?"
"I thought she was in there with you."
"Hm. But you brought her with you, right?"
"Oh I brought her. And she ate McGriddles in the car and then threw them up all over the car."
He laughed, both at the fact that she did that and the fact that Jade was bringing it up. He'd probably never let her live it down. He was puzzled, though. Where was she? He decided to inquire at the nurse's station.
After being pointed along by enough people, he finally found her in the waiting room at the end of the hall, asleep on the sofa. She looked unhappy, even though she was asleep, and when he leaned closer he could see tear tracks on her face. This troubled him. He knelt by her and lightly kissed her. She stirred a bit but kept sleeping.
"Litzy," he called.
Her eyes fluttered open.
"Hi," she said, sitting up and yawning. "How are you doing?"
"I'm alright," he said, sitting next to her. "Are you okay? Why are you back here by yourself?"
"Yeah, I'm okay. I dunno. I needed some quiet. I was just feeling crappy..."
"Nauseous?"
"Hungry."
"Even after your McGriddles adventure?" he snickered.
"He's never going to let me live that down, is he?"
"No. I don't think so."
She laughed.
"C'mon. I'll take you somewhere nice to eat," he said, standing and offering her a hand.
"Are you sure you should leave the hospital right now?"
"There's nothing I can do for Tyler," he said, trying not to let on how sad that fact made him.
She took his hand and he held onto hers as they walked down the hall.
"McDonalds," he said. "How could you? No more cardboard food for my baby, okay?"
"I was really hungry!"
"Promise!"
"Okay, I promise. No more McDonalds. Sheesh."
"And we'll never take him there as a kid, either. Right?"
"Right. Only good wholesome food for our little one."
"That's right."
"Davey, does it feel really weird to you for us to be having this conversation with each other?"
"Maybe a little," he said. "But weird in a new and exciting kinda way."
She smiled. "Yeah, I know what you mean."
Davey took her to a posh restaurant in Manhattan where they had a very delicious lunch. But aside from the food, the company was very enjoyable. It was just like old times with the two of them joking around and playing off of each other. She could be really funny when she wanted to be, and this afternoon she was 'on.' She was telling joke after joke and keeping him cracking up. She stopped to wonder to herself if she was just trying to keep his attention on her instead of anything that might be going on back at the hospital. She knew the answer was probably yes, but the only thing that mattered to her was how cute he was when he smiled and the way his eyes sparkled when he laughed.
She wondered if maybe she was giving him some kind of smitten look, because he started giving her one. Then he reached across the table and took her hand in his, just holding it as she trailed off, forgetting what she'd even been talking about to begin with. She looked at their hands, his fingernails painted white, hers painted black. They looked good together. She smiled to herself.
"You have such a beautiful smile," he said. "But that's just one of the million things that make you beautiful to me."
She was speechless. She could only sit there looking into his eyes and wondering where it came from, that feeling that only he gave her. It was such a strong attraction, but it wasn't just physical. She was happy just to spend time with him.
"Come closer," he said, patting the seat next to him.
She moved over.
He turned to her and lightly caressed her arm as he kept staring at her bottom lip. 'Oh boy...' she thought, excited but at a loss to do anything.
He leaned in and whispered in her ear. "I really wanna kiss you right now."
She smiled and most likely blushed. She took a casual look around the restaurant. It wasn't very full as it was slightly before the lunch rush. Perhaps no one would see. She took some initiative and kissed him. They kissed softly for just a few minutes but it was still enough to turn her on. And Davey had this look in his eyes that led her to believe he was just as turned on as she was. So she decided to check. She slipped her hand down his stomach and down a little further to find an impressive bulge in his jeans.
She glanced around the restaurant again, and seeing that no one was looking, started to rub it. He let out just a tiny moan but then was obviously trying to keep quiet. She smiled, evilly.
"You are so bad," he whispered.
"Oh so you want me to stop?" she asked, batting her eyelashes.
"Don't stop, don't stop," he moaned.
"Shh," she reminded him, putting a finger to her lips.
He was now so lost in pleasure he looked like he was going to go cross-eyed. She snuck under the table, hoping he could stay quiet enough for this.
Hidden completely by the tablecloth, she positioned herself between his legs and opened his fly. She found a very beautiful and very hard erection glistening with precum. She felt his whole body jerk when she took him in her mouth. She squeezed his thigh, trying to remind him to be quiet and be still. He didn't move as she started to suck him and stroke him with her hand. She wondered what the hell his face must look like right then, and what he would do if the waitress came to ask if they needed anything else. Or, if she knew she was under the table, mention that blowjobs weren't allowed in the establishment. She would've laughed, had her mouth not been full.
She switched up her technique a few times and then started to deepthroat it. Still not a sound from Davey, but she did notice his fingernails digging into the seat. And then a salty substance filled her mouth and ran down her forearm, letting her know that she'd brought him over the edge.
She almost laughed out loud when he handed her a napkin under the table.
'Oh my, what a gentleman,' she thought to herself, amused. She cleaned herself and him up, zipped him up, then popped back into her seat.
"Well. Dessert was yummy."
Davey started laughing, then looked at her and shook his head. "You are amazing."
She smiled, modestly.
"So..." he said, in her ear. "Did that turn you on?"
She licked her lips. "Hell yes."
"Then I'll meet you in the bathroom in five minutes?"
She nodded.
"Women's or men's?"
"Women's."
She smiled and sashayed off to the Ladies Room.
Three minutes later, Davey walked into the Ladies' bathroom with an extra naughty look on his face. There was no one in there, so she was sitting on the sink, swinging her feet. She beckoned to him. He walked over, took a handful of her hair in his hand, and kissed her. She ran her hands underneath his shirt, then down his back to grab his ass.
"God, I want you so bad," she breathed, as he was kissing his way down her neck.
"Let's see how much," he said, and unfastened her jeans. He pulled them down around her ankles, leaving her in her pink underwear. Then he pulled the seat of her underwear aside and pushed a finger into her.
"Mmmm I'd say a whole lot," he teased, sliding his finger in and out of her. She leaned back against the mirror, eyes closed, squeezing her breasts. He leaned down and began to lick her, but he obviously didn't know the hows or wheres of this. So she kindly took his head and guided him to where he needed to go, then let out a loud moan once he'd arrived. She taught him what she liked by her responses and a gentle push in the right direction or a word of encouragement here and there. Soon he was making her scream and rock her hips. She was about to cum any minute and that was when he stopped. She was almost disappointed but she heard a zipper give way. He pulled her to the edge of the sink and pushed into her.
"Davey we sh..." she began, but he cut her off with a kiss.
She meant to say they should go in a stall in case someone walked in, but once he started to pump her, she lost all capacity to say anything but "Oh God" over and over. It felt so good she didn't care if they got caught - she absolutely could not stop. Couldn't have stopped for anything. They found a rhythm together and each movement brought them closer to the edge. They kissed here and there and made eye contact. She was so turned on it didn't take her long to climax, her entire body tensing up and shaking as Davey experienced his second release of the afternoon.
Neither of them moved, he took a minute to just hold her and kiss her and she was so content. Then his phone started to ring.
She groaned.
"It's Jade," he said, pressing his forehead to hers. "I have to get it."
"We should probably sneak out of here anyway."
"Yeah," he said, grabbing his Sidekick and answering it. He talked on the phone while fixing his clothes. She pulled herself together and pretended not to be listening to his conversation. But she was.
Something was going on with Tyler.
Davey hung up.
"We have to go back to the hospital," he said, sounding distressed.
"What happened?"
"I dont know exactly, there's a lot of confusion down there. Let's just go," he said, grabbing her by the wrist.
On the way out they ran into a prim looking woman.
"My goodness. This is a restaurant, not a hotel!" she cried.
Litzy just laughed and blew a kiss at the woman as they passed. She turned her nose up and went in the bathroom.
Davey paid the bill and they headed back to the hospital. But in the car Litzy couldnt help but wonder. What had just happened? How had they gone out to lunch and ended up making love? What was she to him? Did he want to be with her or was he just keeping her around because of the baby or because she was a fun new toy to play with? With Tyler on his deathbed, it seemed there would never be a good time to ask.
She opened her purse to look for some gum and something sparkly caught her eye.
"Oh my God!"
"What is it?"
"My emerald ring. I thought I'd lost it! I guess it slipped off into my bag," she said, putting it back on her finger.
"Hm. Isnt that something?"
"Uh oh. Pull over. I'm gonna lose my McGriddles."
"It'd serve you right," he laughed, thinking she was joking.
Only she really did lose them. All over the floor of the car. Jade screamed as though his very life was in danger.
