HA! Gave you a rating point this time. I win. I can't believe it's over. Like...really over. I loved this story. It touched on something that I can guarantee no other story has. It was wonderfully written by a wonderful girl. Sappy much? Well, I mean it. I enjoyed reading this so much, mostly because I was in awe that someone as silly as you could write such a serious story. Crazy.
But one question...is the afterlife like a huge hotel or something? Like there's a front desk receptionist with an attitude problem and you can ask what room some dead person is staying in? That's kind of what I got out of it. Quite an interesting concept, Miss Alex.Author's response

Ha ha, in mind the cell was pretty much just part of the "transitional phase" that Laura talked about. I wouldn't give the dead people rooms. I thought of it as a very wide open space. But it's open to any kind of interpretation. :)

Whoa.
But it's a good whoa. I like how the story ended. It made a lot of sense. It tied up any loose ends.
And it didn't pull a Wizrd of Oz trick, where Pete wakes up and it was just a dream and he has a whole new, enlightened view of life.

Lovely ending... you really pulled it together. I was so glad Pete wasn't alive (ok, that sounds bad I know) because it would have been worth so much less if that had been the case. I loved how Laura was there in the end, making death seem so positive. You really ended on a happy note without bringing Pete back to life! I absolutely loved it, but I am a little sad it's over. tear I just had to give you a point. :)Author's response
I always wanted him to be together with Laura in the end. And I can do a lot but raising two people from the dead? Not on one day...
To me Laura's presence conveys comfort and that positive vibe that may be missing to some due to the lack of religious elements.
