Chapter Twenty-five:
Ghost of You
"At the top of my lungs, in my arms she dies."
Now we were at the SNL studios, playing live in front of an SNL audience. Most of them had come to see James Franco, who was the guest host for that night. We had just come back from commercial, and he was just about to introduce us.
"Welcome back ladies and gentleman. Now I give you my favorite band of all time, led by the lovely Natalie Hunter, Eurydice Fall," he moved his hand to present the stage.
Before we started to play I went to the mic, "Thank you James. Everybody James Franco." The audience applauded. "Alright the first song we want to perform is called The Things We Give Up To Be Okay. Here we go"
Smiles and make -up
Can only cover so much
For no reason at all
Just say yes
And do your best
To kiss me
Chorus
Cause I know better
Than anybody on this stage
That a crush can be
Something more
Just do your best
To write me a letter
Before you leave
For Chicago
End of Chorus
So much left unsaid
So much you haven't read
From me to you
From red to blue
2 am and I'm still awake
Writing a fucking love song
Chorus
Cause I know better
Then anybody on this stage
That a crush can be
Something more
Just do your best
To write me a letter
Before you leave
For Chicago
End of Chorus
I swear I'd rip my heart
Just to start
If you said you'd be impressed
So get dressed
Last night was wonderful
But I didn't feel anything at all
Chorus
Cause I know better
Than anybody on this stage
That a crush can be
Something more
Just do your best
To write me a letter
Before you leave
For Chicago
End of Chorus
Bridge
Don't you call
Me a whore
I would never do you
You always let me down
You never wanted the good
Girls anyway
End of Bridge
Chorus
Cause I know better
Than anybody on this stage
That a crush can be
Something more
Just do your best
To write me a letter
Before you leave
For Chicago
End of Chorus
Bridge
Don't you call
Me a whore
I would never do you
You always let me down
You never wanted the good
Girls anyway
End of Bridge
Can you just pretend
That you care?
We finished, and headed back stage. Like always Pete was waiting for me. With a big smile on his face he came up, and kissed me passionately. "You did good," he said. "I really like that song."
I smiled, "I know that's why I chose it."
He laughed nervously, "Hey speaking of Chicago, you know we go there next on our tour right?"
I nodded, "Yes, of course. Why are you asking?"
"Because my parents want us to stay at there place during our stay," he said I could see the anxiousness creeping up his cheeks.
"Okay, so?" I asked.
"You don't have a problem with that?" he asked.
I shook my head, "No why?"
"Well, do you remember the last time we went you got in a fight with my sister? You said she said that she didn't like you, and that you were stealing me away from the family," he said.
I chuckled, "Oh that. I talked that out with her. You were asleep, and I was having one of my insomniac nights, and I went downstairs to get something to eat. She was there too, and I asked her why she got mad," I said. "She explained the whole thing to me."
"And what was that?" he asked.
I raised my eyebrows up in down, "It was about a boy."
"And what about a boy?" he asked.
"She told me that her boyfriend was pressuring her into have sex, and she didn't know if she was ready or not. So, she asked me when I knew I was ready," I replied.
He then asked with a worried tone, "And when did you know you were ready?"
"I lost my virginity at 16," I said.
"What!" he yelled. "LaCie is 16 now! What did you do!"
"Calm down Pete," I said covering his mouth.
When he started to breath normal I started to explain, "Then I told her how to tell if she was ready. I asked her if she loved him, and she said I don't know. Then I asked her if she was ready to take an emotional ride, and being your sister, and knowing how emotional you get sometimes, she said no. Then I asked her if she wanted to be naked and sweating with a guy that might not know where to put his penis, and she said no. Then I told her she wasn't ready."
"Just to let you know I'm not that emotional," he said.
I laughed, "Pete, remember last night, and how you started a fight with that guy because he was messing with your friends. I even had to slap you so you'd come to your senses."
He smiled, "Oh yeah! That was fun."
"No, you got a shiner, and that's makes you ugly."
"Are you calling me ugly?"
"Maybe . . ."
"Why I outta," he stared but couldn't finish because the producer interrupted us.
"Eurydice Fall you're back on," he shouted through the dressing room.
I kissed Pete, and then checked the mirror to make sure I didn't need to reapply my eyeliner. "Sugar you look fine. I don't even know why you wear that stuff," Pete inputted.
I smiled, "Thanks, love, but it's for the fans."
I walked out of the dressing room, and back onstage.
"Ladies and gentleman we will be performing "Ghost of You" by My Chemical Romance as our cover tonight. We hope you have enjoyed yourself," Eric said getting his guitar strap over his head.
I never said I'd lie in wait forever
If I died, we'd be together now
I can't always just forget him
But he could try
At the end of the world
Or the last thing I see
You are never coming home
Never coming home
Could I, should I
And all the things that you never ever told me
And all the smiles that are ever, ever, ever
Get the feeling that you're never
All alone and I remember now
At the top of my lungs, in my arms he dies
He dies
At the end of the world
Or the last thing I see
You are never coming home
Never coming home
Could I, should I
And all the things that you never ever told me
And all the smiles that are ever gonna haunt me
Never coming home
Never coming home
Could I, should I
And all the wounds that are ever gonna scar me
For all the ghosts that are never gonna catch me
If I fall
If I fall (down)
At the end of the world
Or the last thing I see
You are never coming home
Never coming home
Never coming home
Never coming home
And all the things that you never ever told me
And all the smiles that are ever gonna haunt me
Never coming home
Never coming home
Could I, should I
And all the wounds that are ever gonna scar me
For all the ghosts that are never gonna
"Thank you all! Goodnight," I said through the microphone as we got off the stage.
A/N: Okay I had to change Pete's sister's name to LaCie because I don't know her real name, but anyway here you go. Next to come Pete's parents house. Oh boy!
