Good start. Now you just need to tie the lines together. Articles are a great help, as is punctuation. You have some nice lines here, but the overall presentation does need work.

Good poem. I liked the format, added a bit of suspense. Although it says 'startle in' which doesn't make complete sense. Maybe you meant startle of the night?
