Franciescka spent the rest of her day with her best friend, Skkyler, shopping for her clothes for the evening.
"So, is he cute?" Sky would tease her. Fran is really picky with guys, so it was a real surprise for Sky to hear that she was going out on a "date".
"YES! He is adorable, like, really adorable, he is just..." Fran sighed trying to find the right word.
"Adorable?" Sky made fun of her. Fran smacked her on the head for the comment.
"Yes, adorable." She smiled. "Oh, lets go to Nordstrom for a dress."
They both went to Nordstrom and looked through all of the dresses. Half an hour later, Sky squealed.
"I love this one!" Sky finally found one.
"Oh my God, its so beautiful!"
It was a short black dress with gold and silver swirl designs at the seams. Fran went and tried it on in the dressing room. It fit perfectly. The dress showed off her curves and had a deep V-neck. It was amazing. She bought it the four hundred dollar dress.
Fran said her "goodbyes" to her friend Sky and went back to her apartment. The guards let her through and she went inside. She found her uncle still sleeping. It was 5:30, so she decided to start getting ready. Fran took a shower and blow-dried her hair. She straightened her bangs, which basically covered half of her face. She put a dark red lipstick and "smoky" eye shadow and eyeliner. Then, she put her earrings, necklace, and dress on; she looked amazing. She left her room and went down to the lobby to get her car. The guards whistled at her, but it wasn't offending because she knew them well ever since she moved there. She drove to KeyStone, which was a very elegant restaurant that Fran had never been to. Fran finally arrived at 7:05. She came inside and looked to see if Brendon was there; he was. He was sitting at a both, away from the crowd. She thought it was sweet. She went up to him and smiled.
"Hi." She said.
"Wow, you look amazing." He looked stunned and smiled at her.
They both sat down and talked casually. What did you do today? How was your day? Where do you live? Etc. Fran talked about her parents and how they died and Brendon talked about his parents and how he was adopted. They talked about everything imaginable. Fran ordered a salad and Brendon ordered some chicken thing with a fancy name.
They had very quick dinner and they left. Fran was driving back, when she noticed someone following her. Wherever she turned, the car turned too. She decided just to go to her apartment, get out, and then tell him off. She didn't care whether he had a gun, knife, stiletto, whatever.
She arrived at her apartment building, when she immediately came out with a "pissed off" look on her face. The man came out of his care and her face softened up.
"Brendon?"
"Fran? What are you doing here?" He was as just as surprised as she was.
"Um, I live here. I was going to ask you the same thing."
"Wow, I live here too! What floor?"
"Oh my gosh. Oh, the 6th." Fran sounded excited in a way.
"Sweet, may I escort you inside?"
"Yes, you may."
They both walked inside together as the guards said "Hello, Fran. Hello Brendon." They apparently knew him well too. She was surprised she had never seen him before. They were alone in the lobby in front of the elevator. Brendon pressed the button about 30 times, but the elevator never came down. They decided to use the stairs instead. Fran opened the door to the emergency stairs and screamed. There lied her uncle on the floor, surrounded by a puddle of blood. His blood. There was a stiletto stuck in his stomach.
"Fran, go upstairs now!" Brendon yelled at her. Fran's face was flushed. She ran up the stairs.
Brendon ran to the guards and they followed him to the dead body. The next thing he knew, about 6 police cars were there, with an ambulance. They took his body away. The guards thanked Brendon for notifying them as soon as he found him. Brendon didn't believe he just saw a dead body. He was scared a little. Brendon completely forgot about Fran. He noticed the elevator open.
"Damn elevator." He said to himself. He went up 5 floors to Fran's apartment. He went inside and noticed that no one was there. He heard the shower running. He peeked inside to make sure she wasn't changing or anything. He saw her in the shower, with her dress and makeup smeared across her face. Her hair was soaking wet. She looked up, but not at him. He came inside the room and in the shower with her. Brendon sat down next to her and put his arm around her. He knew what she was feeling. Fran put her head on his shoulder. Brendon noticed the broken wine glass next to the sink, and a little blood at the bottom of the shower. He saw a small piece of glass next to the shower with blood on it too. He took her arm and noticed that she cut it. He got a towel and wiped off the remaining blood. He kissed the wound.
"You cold?" He asked softly. Fran nodded with a blank expression on her face. Brendon turned the knob until the water became warm. He ran his fingers through her hair and they just stared at the ceiling, together.
