Perfect Sonnet
Lately I've been wishing I had one desire.
Something that would make me never want another.
Something that would make it so that nothing mattered.
All would be clear again.
Riku sat on Paopu Island gazing at the setting sun. His silver hair was blowing in the night breeze. As always thinking of a way to broaden his horizons, and finally leave this God forsaken island. They were setting sail in a few days...Just him, Sora, and Kairi. Though he wished it was just him, and Sora...Kairi was a nuisance, a pain, and a bitch even...but Sora loved her.
Sora, his best friend...though he wished for something more. The naive little spiky boy who always was in his thoughts...But he saw the way he looked at her...The way his eyes longed for her as he gave her the up and down. He could never be his. He knew this...but that didn't stop him from having a little fun every now and again.
As the brunette approached Riku smiled. "Up for another round Sora?" He saw him smile, and jumped down from his resting place atop the tree.
"Of course!" They both drew their wooden swords, and Riku's hand beckoned him forward, their swords clashing together in battle.
Riku pushed Sora off him...Taking up the offensive position. 'Gods would he look good wet' Sora caught him off guard knocking him to the ground. Riku almost smiled at the triumphant look on the brunette's face, but that wouldn't last for long. Riku waited until the opportune moment then jumped up, kicking Sora off the ledge, and into the water. The silver haired boy was endlessly amused at how that move could get Sora every time.
A very wet, and pissed off Sora swam back to the island giving Riku a very dirty look. "You didn't have to get me wet Riku!" Sora was complaining about something else, but Riku was well beyond comprehending at this point. Sora was drenched from head to toe, water droplets kissing his tanned skin and making him glisten in the sunlight. His clothes were sodden and stuck to his body like a second skin, showing everything that the off that his normal baggy clothes would never dream of. All in all Sora was fucking hot, and if this kept up Riku might need to take a swim in cold ocean water.
Riku looked at Sora again, and it seemed that the brunette had stopped bitching and was now just glaring at him. Not really knowing where the conversation was at at said moment Riku just said the first thing that came to his mind. "Ah but you look so cute when you're wet...How could I pass up that opportunity?" Sora looked shocked, but shrugged it off...thinking Riku was just kidding...how wrong he was.
"Whatever I'm not the one that looks like a girl...at least my hair and looks are NORMAL...." Riku looked offended, he did not look like a girl. His hair was rather soft and his skin quite pale, but being concerned with good hygiene and skin cancer didn't necessarily make you girly. Plus he had some muscles on him that a girl would definitely not be packing. Did Sora think that Riku one all of these times out of luck?
"Well that's 0-13, so it looks like you're the one that keeps getting beat by this so-called 'girl'" Sora frowned, and Riku became enthralled with how the brunette took his bottom lip in between his teeth. The silver haired boy couldn't help but wish that he could be doing the same.
"I'll beat you next time!" Sora looked up huffily knowing there was really no conviction in that threat...he after all never beat Riku. What were they talking about again? Riku really couldn't remember anything beyond Sora's chest showing through his now transparent shirt.
"Uh huh and where have I heard that before?" Sora was shaking, and Riku noticed goose bumps crawling up his arms. Sora kept rubbing them in an effort to make them go away, and for his body temperature to rise back up to normal.
"You cold?" Really he didn't even know why he asked, the answer was quite apparent by how Sora's teeth were chattering almost violently. He really wouldn't have been surprised if he had bit his tongue.
"Yeah" Riku rolled his eyes, Sora could be way to adorable sometimes.
"Pssshhh you're always cold...and you say I'm the girl." Riku teased. It did seem to have the desired effect because Sora's eyes darkened to an almost navy, and he stubbornly crossed his arms over his chest, puffing it out in the process.
"Well it might have something to do with the fact that I'm wet, shaking, and it's dark outside!" Riku tilted his head to the side in contemplation before looking up at the sky. When had it gotten dark? How long had they been out on the island?
Riku felt bad about making the brunette cold, a thought suddenly occurred to him. What better way to rectify his mistake then to warm him up, and get to see him naked in the process. "Take off your shirt then...and pants wouldn't be to bad an idea either." Sora looked confused "Don't worry it's just so they can dry...I don't exactly wanna see you naked...that would be a horrific sight." Sora laughed, but still looked a bit apprehensive about stripping in front of his friend.
The brunette broke out into a huge goofy grin. "Oh come on Riku you know you want some of this." Sora slapped his ass making both boys brake down into a fit of laughter.
"Yeah Sora Oh baby oh baby. Who could resist that ass?" The laughter was mildly forced on Riku's part; he after all was more turned on then anything else.
After some convincing Sora was stripped down to his boxers and lying next to Riku in the sand...of course so was Riku. Sora made him strip to, so as not to feel weird. Riku really couldn't think of anything more retarded, but in an effort to please went along with it anyone. Sora did look really good in nothing but his paopu printed boxers. "Sora have you ever thought about what it would it be like to kiss a guy?"
Riku heard Sora shift beside him, and immediately froze up. Had he just asked that out loud? He had had dozens of these conversations in his head, all ending in him having hot freaky monkey sex with Sora in the end, but he had never dared to say it out in the open. The silver haired youth sighed, as long as it was out in the open he might as well run with it.
"Err...ummmmm...well I...um why do you ask?" The brunette boy finished lamely. Riku could tell that Sora was really uncomfortable, and his hopes that Sora might swing that way were all but diminished.
Riku rolled over so that he was facing Sora. They were inches away, but it didn't even feel as they were close. Riku struggled with his emotions once again. Sapphire eyes were staring intently back into his own, and all of his thoughts seemed to fade into their depths. Their faces were inches apart, and Riku could feel the boy's breath ghosting over his own lips. In a temporary loss of insanity Riku leaned forward and touched his lips to the brunette's in the smallest of gestures. Really by some standards he didn't even know if it could be considered a real kiss. He felt Sora struggling, and regretting his decision Riku pulled back immediately, blanching when he caught sight of Sora's tear streaked face. "Sora I'm sorry...I"
Riku didn't know what else to say, but really what could he say? 'I'm sorry that I kissed you but I'm madly in love with you and want to have hot steamy sex' Somehow he didn't think Sora would react all that well to that.
"Riku...I don't...I gotta go!" Sora took off running, leaving Riku alone once more with his thoughts. In an effort to stop the brunette he called his name after him, but Sora never stopped.
Riku started shaking. The reality of what just happened cut through him like a knife, and left him a miserable depressed image of his former self. What had he just done? He had just lost his best friend...his only real friend. He had just thrown away their friendship over something that he knew could never be real in the first place' A tear fell down his face, and he stumbled shakingly into the secret place where him and Sora used to play as kids. Back when all they had to worry about were the monsters that lurked in the shadows, not getting molested by your supposed best friend. . He hadn't even been there since Kairi came...that was where her and Sora played...who was he to intrude.
The cave was musky, and the air was thick with carbon monoxide so it was hard to breathe. He hadn't been here since they were kids, when it was just him and Sora, in other words before Kairi came. His heart broke when he saw a picture etched into the wall of what looked to be Sora giving Kairi one of the yellow fruits he had grown to despise. Riku huddled himself into a corner, head in knees, and broke down completely for probably the first time in his life. He had never allowed himself to cry before, crying was for the weak, and he needed to be strong in order to beat Sora in all of their little games...see where that got him. A crying pathetic mass of his former self, huddled alone in a cave, alone and unwanted. It was with those thoughts that the sobbing teen fell into a deep sleep.
???????????????
Riku found himself walking through darkness. The kind of darkness that was all consuming, the kind you didn't wake up from. "Hello" It was a small gesture at an attempt of comfort, wherever he was hearing his own voice was better than hearing nothing at all. He continued to walk, though he didn't know where to, or even where this was. The darkness surrounding him was starting to chill him to the very bone, and he began wondering if he would ever be cheerful again.
After what seemed like hours he saw a light. Maybe he got lucky and died and this is the light at the end of the tunnel that people are always talking about. It sounded bad, but really Riku would rather be dead than have to face Sora tomorrow. The light kept growing as he got closer, and his heart skipped as he heard someone call his name. The voice was cold and filled with an aristocratic grace that Riku would never have in his own. The voice was beckoning him further. "Who are you?"
A black cloaked figure emerged. "My name is no concern to you...my dear Riku" As the man moved closer...Riku retreated farther back. The silver haired boy had watched enough television to know that you never trust people whose faces are covered, especially ones you find in situations such as this.
"How do you know my name?" The figure began to laugh, and with each one Riku felt a chill travel down his spine and burst through his toes.
"I know everything about you Riku." Riku scoffed crossing his arms, the man was really annoying the piss out of him, and he really wasn't in the mood right now.
"I doubt that!" The man shrugged before taking another step forward, making Riku take another involuntary step back. Seriously was it the goal in this annoying bastard's life to make Riku as uncomfortable as possible? If so he was doing one hell of a job so far.
"You want nothing more than to leave this place...Have an adventure...Visit new worlds." Riku rolled his eyes, knowing for sure now that this stranger was full of shit.
"That doesn't prove anything. Anyone who's ever met me knows that I want to leave the hell hole known as Destiny Islands...but nice try though." The man looked up, and Riku could see a slight glimmer of amber eyes. Despite the weirdness of his situation, the eyes seemed to hypnotize him.
"Yes, but does everyone know that you're in love with your best friend Sora?" Riku's stomach hit ground zero. He was no longer hypnotized, now he was just scared shitless. He had never told anyone that, he had never written it down, and around Sora he was completely inconspicuous about his feeling. Whoever the hell this person was Riku had a bad feeling about him.
"Who the hell are you? What do you want with me?" Riku took more steps back, determined to get as far away from the man as possible. After seeing this the man tilted his head to the side in amusement.
"Why Riku I want you..." Before Riku even had a chance to respond, the figure moved pinning Riku against the wall. With a feral growl he leaned in and roughly captured the struggling teen's lips. He pulled away just as suddenly, and left Riku staring wide eyed. "Promise to serve me and I will give you everything your heart desires." Riku was confused as hell. For one he couldn't help but think that there shouldn't even be a wall there for him to be backed against, and two why his thoughts were actually telling him to consider the offer. There was one thing he had to know for sure.
"Can I see your face?" With some hesitation the man drew back his hood to reveal tanned skin, and long white hair. His amber eyes seemed to pierce into Riku's soul. The silver haired boy's curious nature got the better of him, and he found that he wanted to know more about whoever this person was he seemed to know the deepest desires of his heart. "What's your name?" The man leaned into to suck on Riku's neck causing and illicit moan to echo off his vocal chords. Riku was mildly disgusted but for some reason had no will to even push him away.
"My name is Ansem." The name seemed to flow out of the man's mouth, and Riku was once again entranced. Whoever this person was power seemed to radiate off of him in waves, leaving Riku too powerless to even put up a fight.
"Ansem" The name felt foreign coming from him, but his thoughts were now too hazy to care. Riku continued to stare into amber eyes and he noticed how very subtle specks of gold were laced throughout them. Whatever hold Ansem seemed to have over him it was effecting him greatly. He now found that he wouldn't even be able to hold himself up if the white haired man wasn't supporting him.
"So Riku will you help me, or will you not?" Ansem ran a gloved hand through Riku's silky tresses, and the simple contact caused Riku to gasp. His mind if possible became even more cloudy. One thought seemed to get through, a thought that never seemed to leave his mind, no matter what the circumstances were.
"Could I have Sora?" Ansem smiled knowing full well that he had won the teenager over, and Riku was really to mind fucked to argue.
"If you wish it." Ansem captured Riku's lips again, and this time received no protest. Though he already knew the answer he had to make sure. He pulled away making Riku feel pitiful as he whined from the broken contact. The pale boy blushed a dark crimson, Ansem only smiled.
"You answer?" Riku gasped as his lips once again met Ansems, he felt himself opening up to the man, and reveled in the hot silky tongue that slipped into his mouth. It felt so good for some reason, and although Riku knew it was wrong he could only think of one answer.
"Yes" With that said Ansem was gone, and Riku noticed how the darkness began to lift from his mind.
???????????????
"Hey wake up...Riku wake up." Riku opened his eyes to see Sora and Kairi busily shaking him. He looked around, and noticed he was still in the cave. How did he get here? Why were they here?
"Why am I here?" He heard a snort, and looked up to see Kairi's face light up with what looked to be a mixture of amusement and worry. Riku noticed that a look seemed to pass between his two friends and his eyes darkened in jealousy.
"You fell asleep here...your parents are really worried...you should get home quick if you ever want to be allowed out here again." Riku sat up rubbing his eyes. Had last night just been one terrible nightmare. He looked at Sora and noticed how his eyes meet his, and knew that at least the kiss wasn't, that unfortunately seemed to be very real...but what of Ansem?
Looking to his friends for advice he noticed how their eyes were locked and how Kairi was slightly blushing. What were they doing here anyways? He didn't even think he wanted to know the answer to that question. Riku got up, knowing full well what they were probably planning on doing in this cave. He couldn't deal with those two right now. He started to leave the cave, but heard Kairi call back to him. With great effort he paused, and managed a friendly reply back "Yeah?"
"You might wanna put some pants on before you go home. Your rents might get the wrong idea...you understand." Riku looked down to see that he was still wearing his boxers. As if this wasn't bad enough. His face reddened, and he ran out of the cave leaving both of his friends laughing their asses off.
As Riku walked along the beach he wondered if in fact Ansem had just been a dream. He pulled his pants on, and headed home. The tanned man had felt so real, when he touched him his skin felt on fire. Riku wasn't going to deny that he held an attraction for the man, because that would just be ridiculous. Whoever he was he was gorgeous. The man had a sense of power, elegance, and wisdom. It was obvious that he wasn't from Destiny Islands, so that meant that he was from another world, which meant their was hope for Riku yet! Plus he had promised Riku that he would help him get Sora, and although he may be attracted to the white haired man, he was sure he loved Sora with all his heart.
He walked into his house quietly shutting the door behind him. He was almost in the clear as he sneaked up the stairs. The last thing he wanted to do was deal with is fuming parents, but then again when did Riku ever get what he wanted?
"Where have you been young man? Your father and I have been worried sick!" Annoyed that she would even pretend to care, he quickly spun around.
"I'm fine mother I just spent the night on the island...no big deal." Riku flinched when his mother's eyeballs seemed to bulge out of her head. Really he didn't know why she cared so much...Riku had always raised himself, and his parents were barely home to realize when he was missing.
"Oh you just spent the night on the island? We were worried sick...You could have been kidnaped, or worst killed, and all you have to say for yourself is no big deal...well it is a big deal to us young man!" Riku rolled his eyes...although he loved to argue he just wasn't up for it right now.
"I'm sorry it'll never happen again...can I go now?" His mother sighed. Riku could almost smile, apparently although his mother wanted to make a point she was too damn lazy to follow through with it.
"Your apathy amazes me...You can go for now, we'll discuss your punishment later." The silver-haired boy bit his lip to stop the smile, his parents never did later. This meant that he got off jack free. His day was turning out better than he thought.
As he trudged up the stairs to his room, Riku thought back to the two kisses he had had last night....even if one wasn't real. The first timid, and shy. The other fierce and demanding. He thought back to how Ansem had trailed down his neck...He almost laughed at the thought of had it been real he would probably have a hickey.
Riku's happy mood faded however, when he saw his reflection in the mirror. His skin was ghostly white. His hair normally silky and well maintained was all matted and dirty. His eyes usually a bright aqua were now red and puffy from all the crying he had done. But the part that really disturbed him was the already bruising love-bite on his neck.
