Chapter 12: Going out and breaking up with a Combs
Jayde Pov
We reach the hospital and run inside going straight to Benji's room. Benji is Lying in bed he looks messed up "Hey Benji, how are you feeling?"
"Alright thanks Who are you?"
"Benji it's Jane Mathews."
"Sorry I don't know a Jane Mathews."
Mum looks confused and upset, If this is Benji's form of a joke I don't like it.
"Benji are you joking?"
"about what?"
"Lets see not knowing who mum is."
"Mum she looks way to young to be a mum."
"What are you doing here anyway? I don't know either of you so can you please leave my room."
Mum and I walk out of the room shocked the doctor comes over to us "What's wrong with Benji? Why doesn't he know who we are?"
"Benjamin has lost all recollection of this year he can only remember up to the end of the previous year, he will get his memory back but we don't know how long it will take, it may be two weeks or a month we just don't know. I'm sorry."
Mum and I fall back into the waiting room chairs not knowing what to do or say to each other.
My phone rings and I answer:
"Hello."
"Hi Jayde, this is Joel did you want to go to a movie today?"
"No sorry I can't."
"Is this because of my stupid brother?"
"He is not stupid he is in hospital."
"and.."
"And what?"
"And this means you have to stay with him why?"
"Joel I love Benji okay and I would do anything for him."
"So you used me."
"Well yes."
"Joel? Joel are you still there?"
"..."
