To my dear friend and neighbor:
I'll never forget that night. All the sirens as they raced down the road. The shock of seeing the paper the next morning, confirming my fears. One killed and one in shock trauma after car hits tree on country road. We all felt it. Standing in front of your parents' house with a candlelight vigil. We all prayed the driver would be spared, although you had not. New years eve was never filled with such gloom as it had been on December 31, 2005. We all had remembered your plans. Plans you could never fulfill. Your friends never forgot you. We all count the days as they pass by, waiting and wondering when we will meet with you again. And when will you make us laugh some more.
Love,
That girl down the street
