DEATH OF A LOVED ONE

I ran my hand along the smooth, black hair. Except it wasn't usual. It wasn't the same. The person wasn't alive as I did so.
I turned to Mikey and hugged him tightly, letting the tears escape their prisons in my head. It couldn't be...
"Mikey, I miss..." I cut myself off and buried my head in his chest. The boy stood protectively next to me, arms around me like I lived inside him. I couldn't believe that... Just dead. Gone, erased completely. The death of my loved one was like a vague memory of sunshine.
Gone.
Forever.

There had to be a good way to look at the situation I was in. This emotional state I was thrown into. Yet nothing came to mind. What was plastered in my mind was the picture of his face... He had killed... I would fucking kill him for doing that!
No, I couldn't go there. The man was gone, locked away. Locked away for good... Locked away for life, and death.
Just gone...
