Thank you for all the reviews!
A week or so had passed with Cadence making no contact with Patrick. She never wanted to see him with that girl. She didn't even know her and she didn't like her. She hated the look on her face as she held Patrick's hand. She held the world's best man in her hands and she didn't even know it. No one could appreciate him like Cadence could. She'd never know the things about him that Cadence knew.
Cadence had been keeping to herself. She tried to get out of her house often, but with no where to go there wasn't much to d. She wanted to get a job, but her Uncle wouldn't let her.
Walking through the park, Cadence kept her hands in her pockets. August was incredibly hot in Chicago. She'd much rather be inside in the air conditioning or swimming in Patrick's pool, but that was no longer something she could do. He had called her once or twice to check up on her, but Cadence never responded. It used to be that if Patrick didn't hear from her, he immediately came to check on her. But, it seemed like she was no longer any of his concern.
"Well, look who it is!" She heard the voice behind her and she almost jumped. She turned around and put a hand over her heart. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you!" Pete apologized as he walked next to her. "Long time no see, how have you been?" He asked. He had been walking his dogs Marley and Pandora when he recognized Cadence walking along through the park.
"Hey, Pete." Cadence smiled as she looked at him trying to block the sun from entering her eyes. She had forgotten her sunglasses at home. "I've been alright, how about you?"
"Good, so you're not hanging out with Patrick anymore, huh?" He got right to the point. "I mean I asked him how you've been and he said you two hadn't spoken in a while."
Cadence let out a sigh. "I'm not fond of his girlfriend no, feels kind of awkward going over there. Him getting a girlfriend meant our relationship changed. It's just weird." She shrugged it off.
"Oh, I can understand that. So, does that mean me and you can't hang out?" He questioned as he held on tightly to the dog's leashes.
"I definitely can hang out." Cadence smiled. She liked Pete and if he wanted to be friends, that was great for her. She was so lonely and now she was making a new friend. Someone who had sought her out and wanted to be her friend. He asked her to be friends. She loved that.
Pete smiled brightly. "Well, I have to finish walking them. Do you want to come back to my house and hang out?" He asked.
Cadence smiled. "I would love to hang out with you." She told him. "Do you need some help?" She asked as he was being pulled by both dogs.
"Sure." He smiled as he handed over Pandora's leash. She was the less aggressive of the two.
"So, you live close to this park?" Cadence asked as they walked along the little river that flowed through the park.
"Just a few blocks over." Pete answered; he kept his eyes on her as they spoke. She was definitely a treat for the eyes. He didn't mind this at all.
"Cool." She smiled as she pulled a hand through her hair. "This is a really nice part of town. Do you still live with your parents?" She asked.
"Yeah, kind of geeky, I know." He laughed. "But, it's like I have my own apartment. Just haven't felt the need to move out yet." He shrugged it off as they reached the end of the park. "Come this way, we're only about five minutes away."
Cadence nodded as she followed Pete to his house. Opening the door, he let the dogs off their leases, letting them into the kitchen to get something to eat. Cadence followed him through the house. It didn't look like anyone else was home besides Pete.
"My room's upstairs, come on." He smiled as he led her upstairs to his room. "I've got a living room and everything." He smiled as he opened the door. "Don't mind the mess."
Cadence laughed as she pulled her hair back into a ponytail. "Don't worry, I'm used to it." She smiled as she walked into the room with him.
"Let me give you a tour." He smiled. "This is the living room, that's the bathroom and here's the bedroom." He turned on the light. "We can stay in here, it's cooler." He sat down on the bed.
Cadence smiled and sat down next to him on the bed, crossing her legs. "Air conditioning feels nice." She nodded as she looked at him and smiled.
"You're really beautiful, you know that?" He questioned as he turned to her. It was kind of a rhetorical question as he moved the hair from her bare shoulder.
Cadence turned away as she blushed a little bit. "Thank you." She whispered. She wasn't always sure what to do with the compliments she received, even if they weren't very often.
Pete smiled as he moved in closer, his hand brushing against his arm as he leaned in and with his other hand turned her face to his, his lips pressing against hers.
Cadence melted into the kiss as she moved her hand from her lap and onto his side as they heated up the kiss a little bit more. Pete sliding his tongue across her lips as she opened them for him.
Cadence smiled, wrapping her arms around him as she leaned back against his bed, bringing him with her.
Pete smiled brightly as he leaned against her. His hands quickly roaming all around her body as he lifted her shirt over her head and began to kiss and nibble on each of her breasts.
Cadence let out a moan as she ran her fingers through his hair. Her hands roaming down his back as she pulled his shirt up over his head. Her breathing became heavy from his tongue sliding across her body.
Pete's hands immediately went down to her skirt, pulling it down and tossing it to the side. Her underwear following as he moved down her body, his tongue finding her and pleasing her in every way possible.
Cadence nearly climbed the bed as she grinded against his tongue. "Oh my god." She moaned as she ran her hands through her own hair.
Pete smirked as he swallowed everything she had released and then he quickly entered her. Moving in and out as fast as he could, he lasted for a long time. Both of their bodies covered in sweat as they moved together. Breathing heavily, Pete collapsed almost next to her. The small bed didn't have enough room for the both of them. Rolling her on her side, he laid behind her.
"So beautiful." He mumbled against her skin as he took a deep breath..
Cadence smiled as she pulled the sheet up and closed her eyes. The cool air conditioning blowing against their hot skin. Maybe this was going to be better than anything Patrick ever gave her.
