Chapter eight ya'll!

Pete and Amber sat on the couch together in the living room, the fireplace was their only light.
"I missed this." Amber murmered. She was leaning against him and Pete was running his fingers through her hair.
"What?" Pete asked.
"This...talking to you." Amber whispered.
"We talk every day." Pete chuckled.
"I mean face to face, being with my best friend in the whole world."
Pete smiled. He could have told her right then and there that he was in love with her.
"But I can't...it's wrong. I'm 25 and she's 16....this isn't even legal. But why do I love her so much?" Pete thought.
"Love who so much?" Amber asked, her eyebrows scrunching together.
"Oh crap, did I say that outloud?" Pete thought.
"Oh, um...my dog, Marlee. I just love her so much." Pete says hoping Amber
believes him.
"Oh." Amber says in a sad voice.
Amber laid on Pete's chest, the fire lit the room, it seemed like a perfect
moment...until.
Ring Ring
Amber pick up her phone.
"Hello." Amber says.
"Amber, it's Brendon. Listen just don't hang up. I want to talk to you." Brendon
says
"Brendon, I told you to leave me alone. I don't want to get hurt any more" Amber
says in a angry voice
"I know, but I've changed, I promise." Brendon pleaded
"And how can I be sure?"
"Look outside."
"Why?"
"Just trust me."
Amber heads to her front door and sees Brendon standing there with 4 dozen roses.
"Brendon, what are you doing?"
"Trying to win you back. Listen I know I was an idiot before, but I'm not like
that anymore, and I want to tell you how sorry I am. Will you give this jerk one
more chance?" Brendon asks while he gets on one knee and holds the roses up.
