Just caught this story. I suspect Albus is in for a load of nasty surprises this summer as all his efforts start to come undone as Harry & friends, with rather unexpected allies, start forging their own path rather than relying on others. It should be interesting to watch, to say the least.Author's response
As for Harry, Harry is playing things to a timetable. It is the kind of news he is going to get from his new allies that will upset his timetable and he will have to rethink his plans.
Albus is having a bit of unexpected bad luck, since he is being forced against a wall by events. He will bounce back, however - he is inventive and innovative, if nothing else.

i personally don't mind the long wait -even if it's unpleasant- but as long as the quality is as good as ever, i see no reason to be unhappy...

A wonderful escape. I once read a fic where Harry used Polyjuice, but in that one, he gave it to Dudley and bribed the Dursleys. Dudley would drink the stuff and then go out to the front garden for an hour each day, before he was finally caught by Remus. Dudley said: "Well, I guess the game is up!"
The magic suppression potion was a nice new touch. It stands to reason that he'd have to conceal his magical signature, but I think you are the first to think of it. Most authors, especially of the 'Harry in Azkaban' genre, use either the wand(smoking gun) or the magical signature and play on the magical world's infinite stupidity, Fudge's greed, and antique laws of evidence.
Now, how will the ministry track magic usage? Through the same kind of tracking charm or by one on his wand? If the wand, how will Harry remove it? (Note: I understand in the muggle world the laws in France are somewhat different than in England. Calais is only a couple hours away by the tunnel train. I used that in a fic which unfortunately, is currently in cyber-limbo, due to a start-up error on a Win-2000 machine. If i reload the comp, I lose everything on it. Le Sigh!
I eagerly await the next page of 'Black Vengeance'. AlorkinAuthor's response
I think you are referring to Potter's Resistance by IP82. It is an excellent piece - pity it has been more or less abandoned.
Ministry can simply tell where a magic has been performed, not who performed it, I think. Personally, I think tracking charms are illegal unless approved by a court order (or its equivalent in the wizarding world). So, Harry has to be tracked by the charm put by Dumbledore.
Harry is playing his game to a timetable - he will learn some interesting news from his allies and that will change things

Interesting escape and original with the magic suppression part. I guess he's fairly safe with Hermione with him. But it doesn't seem like Harry has many people he can trust. First Neville gives away the training plans, and now Bill is letting on about the will reading. Will Dumbledore be able to block that and keep Harry from inheriting? It is certainly looking unlikely that Harry will be emancipated even if he does become head of House of Black!
