Mel was swinging on the swings alone just looking at the sky when someone started pushing her,
"Fuck" she yelled quickly grabbing onto the swings, she heard someone laugh quielty and she turned and saw Gerard, "I could have fell off and broken my neck!"
"I wouldn't let that happen" Gerard said continuing to push her, "It's kind of funny when ever we have problems the swing is always where we are just chill and non-caring about anything" Mel smiled

They were in 3rd grade and just had their first fight.
"You're mean Gerard!" Melanie said crying and walking away, Gerard was making fun of her. She sat on the swings crying that her best friend was acting like this to her. Someone gently pushed her. She turned and saw Gerard looking ashamed.
"I'm sorry" he said looking at the ground, Mel sniffled and smiled
"It's okay" she said
They were in 6th grade and Mel had just got braces
"Dude this sucks" she said her speech was a little messed up, Gerard stifled a laugh, "I find nothing funny!"
"I'm sorry Mel but your voice!"
"Stupid fucking braces stupid fucking friends" she said angrily walking to the park. Again someone pshed her on the swings
"I really am sorry" Gerard said
"It's cool I guess I'm just pissed about this"

"Mel what the hell are we doing?" Gerard asked, causing Mel to slip away from her thoughts
"Beg Pardon?" she said
"You don't belong with Aaron we both fucking know it"
"And how do you know that we belong?"
"Well gee, we've known eachother long enough"
"But if things go wrong what if we can't be friends again?"
"What if we don't take this chance who knows what chances we'll be passing up"
"I seriously doubt it, aren't we going to be seperated in a few years?"
"What do you mean?" Gerard asked
"College" she said
