It was my first day of work.
I wasn't that nervous, as i expected i'd start of serving coffee or something simple like that.
But boy was i wrong.

As soon as i entered the building, Eliza called me straight into her office.

'Elaine! Please, sit, I have your first assignment.'
'It's Ella' I said, but sat down infront of her desk obligingly

'Now' She said lowering her voice 'I know this may seem strange...as it's only your first day here,
but i have an assignment for you, and it's quite a big one.'
'Go on...' I said intruiged, yet excited.
'This may surprise you. You see, i would never ever have dreamed of giving such a job to a rookie such as yourself,
but desperate times call for desperate measures, and we need to get this done quickly.'
'Right...'
'Oh! But first of all, i need you to come close.'
I moved my head forward.
'closer'
I inched closer.
'Closer.'
I was so close to her our noses were practically touching.
'Can you see my blackheads?' She asked.
'Oh! Erm...' i said, taken by surprise. Of course i could. I was so close her skin looked like holey cheese.
'Um.......no' I decided was the best answer.
'Excellent!' She exclaimed, clapping her hands together 'My facial cream is working.'
'So, that's it? That's my big assignment?'
'Oh God No!'
I felt relieved 'Oh, so what is it then?'
'Right well.........Elle, i need to know if i can trust you with something as big as this...can i trust you?'
I nodded, and kept shut this time about her calling me by the wrong name.
'Good. Now you, you screw this up, and your gone from here, got that?'
I gulped, and nodded again.
'Good, because Ella, what i need you to do, is go under cover.'
'Un-under cover?'

Isn't that kinda like lying?
I wasn't very good at lying.
Though it did sound exiting.
Like spy work.
I'd always dreamed of being a spy when i was younger.

'That's right.' She nodded 'We're doing an article, it's called 'the REAL Panic! At The Disco. You see,
Panic ! At The Disco claim to be good little boys, never partying, never drinking etc.
And you see, these boys are very big at the moment, and teens are thriving to find out more
about these guys. We want to uncover the truth. We want to catch them in their wildest moments,
that's where you come in.'

'Wha-what can i do?'

'I belive you met these boys yesterday, am i correct?'
I nodded.
'And am i correct in saying you told me Ryan was your favourite.'
'Um.....yeah.'
'Your a pretty girl Ellie.'
'Um thankyou....'
I wasn't quite sure wher that random compliment came from. 'Do you have
a boyfriend at the moment?'
'Um...no.'
'Perfect.'
Was she coming on to me?
'So, don't you see? We need YOU to go undercover, and get up close and personal
with the boys. The only way you can find out about their secret rambunctious lives,
is by being part of it.'
'What do you mean?'
'How about, you try and get in with Ryan, he falls for you, takes you to all these wild raves,
gets drunk as hell and BAM we have a story.'

My eyes widened in shock.
Had i just heard right?
She wanted ME to go out with this Ryan guy,
so we can sell his story?

'But...but...i can't do that.' I protested.
'You can and you will' She said sharply 'Or it's goodbye to this job. Stella,
your the only celebrity journalist in this place,
who isn't either , taken, ugly, or old.

'But i don't know if i can...i'm not good at keeping secrets.'
'You won't be keeping a secret. You just won't be telling the truth,
that's all.'

'How long do i have to do this for?'
'As long as it takes to get a story.'
'What if it takes forever.'
'Than you'll have to marry him.'

'But what if there IS no story? What if they're telling the truth,
and they DON'T drink or party?'

Eliza flung back her head and laughed loudly.
'You are a journalist.' She said, snapping her head back.'You don't just sit
around and wait for a story to happen. You have to MAKE it happen.'
'You want me to spike their drinks or something?'
'That would be good.'
'What!? I can't do that.'
'You are so picky.' She sighed 'Well, maybe you could just set the scene up a little. You know what i mean.
Well your a smart girl, give it some time and i'm sure you'll figure it out.'
'But i-.'
'So it's agreed you'll do it?'
I remained still and silent.
'You want to keep your job?'
I nodded my head.
'Perfect!' She smiled widely.'Now then, here is some information we've dug up about Mr.Ross.'
I took the folder she had handed to me and flicked through it.
It had everything about him in it. From his hobbies, to his music tastes, his type of women,
the women he has previously dated...
'I expect you to read up on that tonight and do your research.' Instructed Eliza.
'How'd did you get all of this stuff?' I asked in amazement.
'Kids this days. Overly obsessed with rockstars....post everything about them on the internet.
All the things stated here are true, as they've come from old interviews etc.'
'OK'
'Now, Panic! Shall be coming back to scene headquarters in about a week or so,
by then i'll expect you to be an expert or their music, Ryans favourite bands,
Ryans hobbies, Ryans favourite TV shows, and so on..got that?'
'Yes.'
'Good. I trust you not to let me down on this Ella. When they come next Friday,
you are expected give him your phonenumber'
'No problem...won't let you down' I mumbled.
'Excellent!Well that's about all....you may leave.'

I got up and walked out the door.

'Oh, and Emily.'
I poked my head back round the door.
'Don't get too attached OK?'
