I wake up to my alarm going off. Lucy yells at it and turns it off. I roll over Jennie and climb out of bed. I go to the bathroom and do all that stuff you have to do in the morning (pee, put contacts in, etc.) I go back to my room and see that everyone is still asleep. I laugh then go to my closet. I pull out a green slinky shirt and a pair of black pants. I put these on and pull out some socks. I put them on then find my shoes. After I find them and put them on I walk back to the bathroom as Benji's walking out. I look at him and that's when everything from last night comes flooding back to me. He stares at me for a moment then says, "Amy I'm sorry about last night" "Don't worry about it Benji" I walk past him into the bathroom. I brush my hair and teeth. I put on some light green eye shadow, black eyeliner, and black mascara. I put my hair in low pigtails and walk out of the bathroom satisfied with my look. I walk into my room and everyone is STILL asleep. I decide that it's time to wake up. I fill up a bucket (that I found downstairs) of water. I tiptoe into my room to my bed. I lift the bucket above my head and, with one small tip, pour it on my friends. Everyone wakes up screaming "Amy! What the hell?!" "Time to wake up guys" Everyone glares at me and I say, "It's probably time for me to run huh?" They all nod slowly and I bolt for downstairs. I run into the living room, as Billy's walking out of the kitchen. I pull him to make a shield for myself. The girls try to get to me around him but Billy puts his hands up. "Wow wow wow. What's going on?" He looks at the girls dripping wet then turns to me. "You poured water on them didn't you?" I nod "Well in that case, here" He pushes me in front of him and the girls grin. Traitor, I think to myself glaring at Billy. "I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry. You can get me back after school. Just not now please" I plead. They look at each other then back to me. "You're so going down after school," Jennie warns. "Alright just not now" "No not right now but just you wait." Kye also warns. "Oh god. I'm scared" "As you should be," Jennie grins. I run and jump on Joel's lap. "Help me!" I throw my arms around his neck and bury my head into his chest. He laughs and wraps his arms around me. I move my head and peek at the girls. "Whew they're gone" I sit up right and lay my back on the arm of the couch. Joel smiles at me and rubs my legs. I smile back while thinking: There's no way Joel would hurt someone. He's too sweet. Benji seems more likely to use a girl. I'm sure he wouldn't but Joel definitely wouldn't. No way. "Everyone ready?" Billy said interrupting my thoughts. I look up at him and notice that everyone has gathered into the living room (the girls now dry). "Yea I think so," Benji answers for the group. "Ok then let's go" Everyone stands up and I walk to the girls while the guys walk to the door. "Have fun plotting revenge or whatever it is you girls plan to do today. Just don't make TOO big of mess" "K we won't" Lucy promises. "Alright see ya after school" "Bye Amy" The girls say in unison. "Now I'm really scared" I walk out the door with the guys. "Shot gun!" I yell. We all get in the van and drive to school. "Ready for your second day of school?" Joel asks while taking my hand. We intertwine fingers and I smile, "Yep" We walk up to a waiting Aaron standing with some girl. She's around my height no more than 5' 2". She's got long blonde hair with black streaks. She's wearing a black and red corset with a black jacket over it. She's got a black mini skirt with fishnets and boots on as well. "Amy this is Raven, my girlfriend. Raven this is Amy, Joel's girlfriend" She sticks her hand out and I shake it. "It's very nice to meet you" "Very nice to meet you too" We release our grip as the bell rings. "Well let's go" We all walk to our lockers then everyone goes their separate ways. I walk with Billy to the art room. We walk in and the teacher, I saw that her name is Mrs. Whittle from her nameplate on her desk, turns to us. "Ah William why weren't you in class yesterday?" "Because I was showing Amy here-" He gestures towards me "-her classes" "I see. Well welcome to La Plata Amy. I hope you like it here" "Thanks I've been liking it so far" "That's good. You can just take a seat next to William" "Come on" Billy walks to one of the tables and I follow him. Everyone starts working on their art projects; some type of folding thing, and Mrs. Whittle comes to show me how to do it. "Ok we're making boxes" She shows me how to fold them. "Got that?" "I think so" "Well if you have any questions just come ask me or ask William. He's a wonderful art student" Mrs. Whittle walks away and I look at Billy. "What?" "'Oh you're such a wonderful art student'" I quote. He glares at me and says, "Shut up" I laugh then start folding paper. By the end of the hour I have three boxes done. Yeah it's because I'm cool like that. The bell rings and everyone hurries out the door. I walk with Billy to our lockers. I scan the crowd and find Joel talking to some chick. She's probably just an old friend. I think to myself. I open my locker and crouch down to get my history book. "Hey Amy" I look up to see a grinning and out of breath Benji.
~Benji's P.O.V.~
I'm walking to my locker from Financial Literature. God I hate that class. I'm walking down the hall and I see Joel talking to Rebecca. Oh shit he's doing it again. I look to the Art room and I see Amy coming out of class. Surprisingly she doesn't seem to mind Joel talking to a girl. But I'm going to save Amy's heart while I still can. I run up to her. "Hey Amy" I say grinning breathless.
~Amy's P.O.V.~
I grab my book and stand up. "Hi Benji" "Uhh what's your next class again?" I hold up my book. "History" "Oh that's right" He doesn't seem like he's really paying attention. He seems.... distracted. I look at him for a minute then I feel an arm wrap around me. I look up at Joel who smiles down at me. I side hug him and say, "Hey" "Hey babe you ready to go to class?" "Yep let's go. I'll see ya at lunch Benji" "Yea see ya" Benji says through gritted teeth. Once we are out of earshot I ask Joel, "What's Benji's problem?" Joel shrugs. "I don't know" The rest of the first half of the day was boring. I walked to lunch with Paul. He was chatting about something but I wasn't paying attention. I was wondering why Benji was being so crabby today. The weirder thing was it wasn't towards me. It was towards Joel so that's the real reason why I was wondering. I get my food and go sit by Joel. He greets me with a kiss on the cheek. Benji glares at him yet again. I ignore him and take a bite of my pizza. About ten minutes later Joel stands up. "Where ya going?" I ask. "Uhh I've gotta... go... make up a test." "Alright I'll see ya after school. Are you going to come to my house?" "Uhh no. I don't think I'll be able to. Umm I got... a lot of homework to do. But umm I will take you home" "Oh alright. I'll see ya later then" "Bye" Joel carries his tray to the garbage and walks up the stairs. After Joel disappears behind a wall I glance at Benji. He is glaring after Joel again. "Benji what is your problem?" He glances at me then stares at his tray picking at his food. "I already told you what my problem is Amy" He whispers "Joel would never do that Benji. Not to me, not to anyone." I stand up and throw my barely touched food away. Benji runs after me and catches my arm. "Amy wait. I'm sorry. You're right. Joel would never do that to you or anyone else for that matter" I stare at him for a second "Then why did you say that?" "Because I was hoping if you thought it was true then maybe you'd dump him and go out with me" "Well that's not a very nice thing to do to your brother" "I know I was just being selfish. I'm sorry. I'll tell Joel all about this too and tell him I'm sorry also." "Alright. That's the right thing to do" "I will. So... Friends?" I smile "Friends" "Ok I can live with that" He smiles and the bell rings. "Better go to class" We both walk to our lockers and I grab my book bag. Benji skips to my side and says, "Let's go" "Alrighty" I walk with Benji to biology silently. All we have to do in Biology today is watch a movie so I pull out my sketch notebook. I start drawing random things and zoning out. About twenty minutes later someone knocks my desk, which wakes me from my daydream. I look down at my notebook and realize I drew a person. At first glance it looks like Joel but I look more closely and I realize that it's Benji. I can tell it's Benji because the person I drew is kinda cubby and he's wearing pants with chains and zippers all over the place. Something Joel would NEVER wear and Benji's favorite pants. I look at Benji and see that he is fast asleep. I quickly close my notebook. I look at Benji again and smile. He has his arm on the edge of the desk and his head is on his arm. I grin maniacally and push his shoulder. He falls off his chair with a loud thud. He quickly jumps up and sits back on his chair. "Mr. Madden" Mr. Smith says. "Yes sir?" "Is there a reason you have decided to disrupt my class?" I look at Benji hoping he won't rat me out. "Uhh I just fell off my chair" Whew I knew I could count on him. "And why did you fall off your chair?" "Because I was sleeping." I giggle "Ms. Martin do you find something amusing?" I look up at him and just nod fearing that, if I talk, I'll go into a laughing fit. "Well then you and Mr. Madden can just get out of my class until you are mature enough to act like adults" I look at Benji shocked then I grab my sketch notebook and book bag and stand up. As soon as we get out of the classroom I bust out laughing. Benji pushes me. "It's your fault I got in trouble" "Yea but it was so tempting I just couldn't help myself. Besides I got in trouble too." "It's a good thing you did too because if you wouldn't have I would have been pissed" Benji says grinning. "Yea. So what now?" I ask. "I don't know. We still have thirty minutes of class left" I go to my locker and put my sketch notebook and book bag away. We go sit down on this island thingy they have. Out of nowhere Benji starts laughing. "What?" "Did you see how red Mr. Smith's face got?" I start laughing with Benji. "That was funny. I thought he was going to pop a blood vessel." Benji starts laughing harder. "'Get out of my class until you're mature enough to act like adults,'" Benji mocks. That throws me into a bigger laughing fit. I fall on the floor because I'm laughing so hard. I can't stop laughing and now I'm gasping for breath. "I can't... I can't... I can't breath," I gasp out in between laughs. Benji's on the floor next to me laughing just as hard if not harder then I am. I look over at him, still laughing, and see his eyes are watering. Seconds later the bell rings and kids start to pour from their classes. A couple people look at Benji and me like we're crazy but mostly people just keep walking. I finally stop laughing and I'm trying to catch my breath. I close my eyes and concentrate on my breathing. "Need a hand?" I open my eyes and see Joel. I grab his extended hand and he pulls me up. I stand up besides him and see that Benji is still laughing. I giggle slightly. "What's his problem?" "Long story" Paul comes bouncing up next to me and asks, "Ready for choir?" "I sure am." I quickly kiss Joel and he doesn't kiss me back. "Joel are you ok?" "I gotta go" And with that he walked off. I just stare after him. Benji puts his arm around my waist and says, "Don't worry about him Amy." I look at Benji and he's smiling. I smile back and then walk to chorus with Paul. I walk in and see that we're just watching a movie. "Since we're just watching a movie I'm gonna sit by you ok?" Paul asks. "Alrighty" Class starts and Mrs. Johnson starts the movie. I try so hard to concentrate on the movie but I can't. My mind keeps wandering to a question I don't think I want answered. Was Benji actually telling the truth? Would Joel actually cheat on me? I can't stand the frustration any longer. I have to find out. I lean over to Paul and whisper, "Paul has Joel ever cheated on anyone?" "Uhh yea a couple people. But he seems to really like you so I don't think you have anything to worry about." "Ok" I sit back up in my seat and almost start to cry. Oh my god Benji was telling the truth. I bet Joel is cheating on me. No! He can't be. He loves me. I kept arguing with myself for the rest of the hour. The bell rings and I hurry out of class. I grab my gym clothes out of my locker. I walk to the girls' locker room and change. Today we're in the weight room so I get on the treadmill and just run. I run the entire hour. After the teacher said we could go get changed I couldn't breath. I changed back into my other clothes and walked to my locker. Now I'm just waiting for everyone to show up. Finally Billy walks up next to me and says, "Hey" "Hi" I barely whisper back. Billy looks at me. "Are you ok?" I nod but Billy continues to stare at me "I'm fine Billy. I promise" "Ok" Billy goes back to getting stuff out of his locker and when he shuts it everyone else appears. "Everyone ready to go?" Paul asks. Everyone says "Yea" and I just nod. Joel walks up next to me and puts his arm around my waist. I shrug his arm off and continue to walk. He looks at me hurt but I just look down. Then he gets this pissed look on his face and he walks faster. Benji comes up beside me and says, "Are you ok?" "I'm sorry I didn't believe you Benji" "Huh?" "Joel actually has cheated on someone. I'm sorry I didn't believe you" "It's fine. I'm sorry it's true" Benji looks at me "So what are you going to do now?" "I don't know. I'm going to think about it for a couple days and see if he is doing anything suspicious then I'll decide based on what I see" "Sounds like a plan to me" "Yup" We reach the van and drive home in silence. We get to mine and Billy's house and I say, "So everyone get an ok from their parents?" "Actually none of us did" Paul says sadly. "Oh man that sucks." "Yea it does" "Well I guess I'll just see all of you later. Bye everyone and thanks Benji" "No problem" I walk to the house and as soon as I walk in the door I get hit by water. Water from water balloons and squirt guns. As I'm standing there soaked, I look at my friends. "Ha! Told ya we'd get you back" "You guys suck" "Hey you got us first" "True, true. Well I'm gonna go get changed." I walk up to my room and pick out some black pajama pants and a white wife beater. I throw my hair into a ponytail and walk downstairs. I walk into the living room and say, "So we're even now right?" "Yea we're even," Lucy says. "Ok good" I sit down on the couch next to Jennie "So when, exactly, do you guys leave?" "Tomorrow" "Oh man that sucks" "Yea" "At what time?" "Probably around 3:30" "Oh good. At least I'll be able to say bye" "Yups" The rest of the night the girls and I just sat up and talked about things we did in the past. We didn't get to sleep until three. So when my alarm went off at seven, I got really pissy. I shut off my alarm and walk into the bathroom. I pee and after washing my hands (duh!) I put in my contacts. I walk back into my room and grab my books and my hoodie. I don't even have enough energy to change. I slip my hoodie on and walk downstairs. I walk to the door and slip my shoes on. I go back upstairs and grab a brush. I brush my hair then brush my teeth. I walk back downstairs and sit on the couch to wait for Billy. He walks down a few minutes later. "Are you ready?" I ask. "Yea I am. Are you?" "Yup" "You don't look ready" "Today is just a lazy day" "Ok" Billy walks into the kitchen then yells, "Do you want a poptart Amy?" I yell back, "Sure!" "Do you want it toasted?" "Yea!" "Alright!" He comes back into the living room a little bit later and hands me my poptart. Billy and I sit on the couch and watch TV waiting for Benji and Joel to show up. At about 7:50 they show up. We walk to the van and I get in the front as Billy gets in the back. "Morning Billy, Morning Amy" "Morning Benj," Billy says. "Morning Benji, Morning Joel" "Yea" I look back at Benji and he mouths, "I'll explain later." At least that's what I think he mouthed. We get to school and I grab my stuff and get out of the van. I start walking to the school and Benji walks up beside me. "So what's Joel's problem?" "He's pissed at me" "Why?" "Because I told him that I told you about cheating on his other girlfriends" "Oh I see. Does he think I think he's cheating on me?" "I don't know. He wouldn't tell me" "Alrighty. Thanks" I hug Benji. "Thanks for what?" "Being a good friend" He smiles and hugs me back. "No problem" I walk to my locker and put my books away. I walk to art with Billy. The day went by really fast. Isn't weird how some days seem to take forever and some just seem to fly by? I think it is. I get in the van with Benji and Billy and I realize that Joel isn't there. "Where's Joel?" "He said he wanted to walk home" "Alright" We drive home and Billy and I say bye to Benji. As he starts to drive off I yell, "Wait Benji!" and run after the van. He stops and I go to the passenger window. "Yes?" "The girls are leaving today and I was wondering if you wanted to say bye" "Oh yea sure" "Cool" I step away from the van and walk towards my house. He parks the van in the driveway and walks to the door. "Come on Amy" I run to the door and Benji opens it for me. "Thanks" "Mmmhmm" I walk in and get tackled. I look up and see Lucy on top of me. "Lucy what are you doing?" "Starting a dog pile" "Oh no" Everyone piles on top of me "You... guys... suck..." I choke out. "Only certain people" Jennie says. "EWW!" I yell with a laugh. Everyone laughs then gets off me. Lucy offers her hand and I say, "Nah. I'm pretty content here" "Ok" She goes and sits down on the couch. Benji comes over and sits on my stomach. "Benj I wouldn't do that" "Why?" "Because I have to pee!" "Oh" He quickly jumps up and I run to the bathroom. I get done in there and walk downstairs. I get in the living room and see everyone standing up with their bags in their hands. "You leaving?!" "Unfortunately yes" "Oh" I can feel the tears start to form. I go and hug everyone not holding the tears back any more "I've had a lot of fun these past few days. Thanks guys" All the girls are crying now. "You're welcome Amy. We had fun too" The three of them say in unison. We all get into a big group hug and after they say bye to the guys they leave. I plop down on the couch and cry harder. Someone pulls me into a hug and at first I think it's Billy but that wonderful smell isn't Billy's, its Benji's. I just cry into his chest and him and Billy rub my back and calm me down. After about half an hour I pull away from Benji and say, "I'm going to bed" "But it's only 4:00" "Crying takes a lot out of you" After that I stood up and walked to my bedroom. I crawl into bed and instantly fall asleep.
