Chapter 10 - Ryuu
0 reviewsThe personal recollection of Ryuu from where he and his friend were encountered by Sebastian Graev and a Hunter.

The hunt for the man who killed my companion has been a long one. I guess it's true what they say: with great power, comes great responsibility. When I first discovered these abilities with Zepplin, my close friend, we believed that we could do the world a favor in protecting that. At the time, however, little did we know about the sinister forces that lurk in the shadows.
Originally, having such powers granted us superiority over others. It was all in good fun, of course, and we never really thought about hurting someone else. We were always gloating to people about what we could do, and even went on a few internet message boards, though that didn't really pan out very well. Now, however, I regret ever having made our abilities public.
One day when we were outside sparring, a group of black cars showed up on the side of the road. Out stepped several men in black suits, followed shortly by one in white. I'd assume wearing a white suit in contrast with the other men showed that he was the one in charge, and he slowly made his way up to myself and Zepplin. He introduced himself as Sebastian Graev, and was very straightforward on why he was here.
He began to explain about our abilities, and that he was a part of a small organization known as KEY. After his long and asinine speech, he offered us a chance to work for him in his little mafia. Zepplin and I both laughed at the offer, and told him to get lost, if he ever were to show his face around us again he'd be sorry. Seemingly unscathed by our remarks, he complimented our attitudes, and casually said "If you won't join me, then you will die like the rest of your scum brethren."
Before we could even make a comment, both of us had been knocked to the ground by a strong force. As we looked up, we saw a tall man dressed in black slacks and a white dress shirt. Graev and his crew, excluding the man who had just downed us, began to walk back to their vehicles. As Graev walked away, he commented, "While it's unfortunate that you didn't want to join my leagues, it's imperative that I eliminate any chance of an outsider interfering in my plans. Have fun with Adeel, gentlemen."
. . . . .
I wasted no time to put this lacky in his place. Not even a moment later, I quickly made my way behind him. I hastily made an energy ball and hurled it at Adeel, hoping it would be too quick and catch him off guard. I underestimated my opponent, and he ducked down to his right and spun around, the energy fired passing over him. He quickly rushed towards me. His speed had taken me by surprise, and he delivered a swift uppercut to my jaw. I went sprawling through the air and tumbled as I landed on the dirt.
It didn't take long for Zepplin to realize what just happened, and instinctively tried to strike Adeel. Unfortunately, Adeel was much more skilled than Zepplin was, and effortlessly evaded each of Zepplin's attacks. Adeel grabbed Zepplin's fist as it swung once again and thrusted his palm into Zepplin's chest and unleashed a quick burst of energy, sending Zepplin sliding along the ground for nearly fifteen yards. Adeel apparently could sense that I had gotten up by now and turned around to face me, but in a split second desicion, I impulsively leaped into the air with fist extended, driving it full force into his face. He collapsed to the ground, eating dirt. I chuckled at my temporary victory. Payback is a bitch, isn't it?
I extended his right arm out to the side with my fist clenched. Light glowed between my fingers as I concentrated in order to draw out a large amount of energy. Opening my palm slightly, a a cylindrical bar of energy appeared in my hand. I re-closed my hand as the energy extended from my thumb, creating a long and jagged sword of pure chi. This was my ultimate technique: the Ryuuken Blade. I brought the rod of energy to my left hand, the energy flaring up as I gripped it tightly with both hands.
Adeel sat up clutching his cheek. He didn't have many options on what to do next. He could either rush forward and face the end of my chi sword, or turn around and get clocked by a now awaiting Zepplin. It seemed as if we had the upper hand in such a win-win situation, but our overconfidence would ultimately be our downfall...
