A few weeks passed and Irene was reading a muggle magazine, Frank didn’t really pay attention. She sighed and looked up,
“You guys are disgusting” she muttered
“We’re men, Irene” Frank said
“Clearly” she said waving her wand and the mess cleaned itself up
“You didn’t have to do that” he said
“I know, I wanted to. I hate living in a mess”
“Then wait till you get one on one with Gerard” Frank breathed.
“What?” Gerard asked, Frank whipped around
“Nothing” Frank said innocently, Frank watched in disgust as Gerard sat by Irene and started kissing down her neck. Irene nudged him away. This would be interesting, Frank sat down and watched, Gerard did it again.
“Seriously, stop” said Irene
“Why?” Gerard asked
“Because I don’t like it”
“Lies” Gerard whispered and he continued. Irene tried to ignore him as his arms slid around her waist and she yelped lightly. Frank knew Gerard had just marked her. Gerard looked at Frank and smirked. Frank saw a hickey appear on her neck. Mikey and Bob fell down on either side of Frank.
“What just happened?” they asked
“Gerard marked her” Frank said
“Hickey?” Bob asked
“Hickey” Frank confirmed, Irene had transfigured the magazine into a mirror and was rubbing the bite.
“I hate you Gerard” she said
“No you don’t” Gerard laughed
“My Mom is going to kill me!” she said
“What?”
“I’m visiting my mother tonight, and when she finds out I like a muggle she’s going to bring up reasons why I should wipe my mind.” She waved her wand and a book came zooming from her bag. Magical Healing Remedies it was titled.
“You wouldn’t would you?” Gerard asked
“Of course not” she said pointing her wand at the mark and she muttered a spell and it disappeared.
“What time are you going?” Gerard asked
“In about 15 minutes why?”
“Oh no reason” Gerard asked giving her a kiss. 15 minutes later she apparated, “You guys heard what she said right?”
“Yeah” said Mikey
“She only ‘likes’ me and I’m in love-“
“Gerard you’re getting ahead of yourself” Mikey cut across, “Remember-“
“Yes”
“And-“
“Yes”
“And then-“
“YES! Okay Mikey”
“Gerard I’m just saying you take things a bit far too fast”
“But Mikes I’m sure this time”
“You were sure all the other times too” Ray chimed in from his DS
“Fine, fine I’ll go slowly”
Irene knocked on the door and her mother answered with a warm hug.
“Irene I’ve missed you!” she said, Irene smiled as her mother her led her into the house.
“Hi Mom” she said
“I haven’t seen you since you were 17! You shouldn’t have done that. Practically illegal to not see your mother in 10 years” Irene’s smile faltered, now she felt bad. She hadn’t realized she ignored her mom for 10 years. “So I hear you’re an auroa!”
“Yeah” Irene said,
“Working for Harry Potter too!”
“Yeah Mom, and Ron Weasley. We’re friends”
“Wonderful! So anyone special in your life?” Ms. Davis was the kind of mother that wanted to see her daughter to get married and start a family,
“Actually I have, I met him a few weeks ago”
“Oh really!? What’s he like”
“Mom, did Iris tell you I was doing sort of an experiment for Harry?”
“Yeah she mentioned something about Muggles” Ms. Davis said airily, “But what does that have to do with the young man you like!?”
“Well he’s a muggle” Irene said, Ms. Davis’ smile dropped into a frown and she grew worried.
“Irene I-.”
“Mom, he knows what I am and he accepts me”
“Well” she said in a small voice, “As long as he believes you”
“He’s seen me do it, that’s kind of the project is to bring Muggles and wizards together”
“Irene I don’t want you to!” Ms. Davis was scared now
“Why?”
“Not all Muggles will appreciate magic; I know that for a fact as do you and your sister. I don’t want them to kill you!”
“Why would they kill me?” Irene asked
“Honey, witches a long time ago were burned at a stake! It’s called the Salem Witch Trials, witches and wizards were trying to help and it was alright until Muggles feared the magic and decided to kill harmless people! That’s sometimes the reason witches and wizards tamper in dark magic, because they feel wronged by the Muggles” Ms. Davis said
“Don’t worry Mom, I’ll be careful” Irene said
“Honey just tell them you quit the project!” Ms. Davis pleaded
“But-“
“No buts please just do it”
“Alright mom” Irene lied
“Thank you”
Irene apparated back onto the bus and collapsed next to Gerard, all of the guys saw she looked troubled.
“What’s wrong babe?” Gerard asked
“I lied to my mommy” she said
“Ohhhhhh” all the guys said
“Well thanks” she said sarcastically.
“Why’d you lie to her?” Mikey asked
“Cuz she wanted me to quit this project, and it’s too late to turn back. That stunt I pulled in Wyoming is bound to be all over the internet by now”
“You use the internet?” Ray asked
“DUH! Just cuz I’m not a muggle doesn’t mean I don’t know how to use technology” she said, “Yet I never use it” she shrugged as they all looked at her.
