“Hey kiddo, someone’s here to see ya!” Dolly yelled from the counter, to Casey, who was busy stocking some of the new arrivals.

Casey sighed and stood, wincing slightly since she had hurt her back earlier, but refused to tell Dolly, not wanting to get sent home. She put on her best game face and went up to the counter, smiling wide when she saw Pete waiting for her at the counter. She went to him and hugged him tightly. “Petey!” She giggled, burying her face in his neck as he hugged her tightly in return. “Baby, I thought you were busy all day?”

“I was but-”

“Baby?” Dolly cut in, looking between the two as they broke away, Casey blushing a deep shade of red. “So, this is the boyfriend eh? Took him fuckin’ long enough to come around so I could meet the man that makes you so fuckin’ bubbly. Now introduce us properly young lady.”

Casey giggled and cleared her throat. “Pete, this is Dolly, my manager,” she said, motioning from Pete to Dolly. “Dolly, this is Pete, my boyfriend,” she said, motioning from Dolly to Pete.

Pete held his hand out and Dolly grabbed it, giving it a firm, man-worthy handshake. “You best be treating Casey right young man or I’ll shove my foot so far-”

“Dolly!” Casey cried out, making the woman smile big as Pete took on a nervous look. “Can I get a moment? Please?”

“Sure thing. You guys can use my office if ya like.”

“Thanks Dolly,” Casey said as she took Pete’s hand in her own and lead him away from Dolly and her amused chuckling, and to the office, where she shut the door and closed the blinds. “Sorry about her, she’s a bit protective of me since we get along so well...”

Pete nodded, rubbing the back of his neck. “She’s a bit intimidating, isn’t she?”

Casey giggled softly and hugged Pete, kissing his cheek. “Yeah she is. But she really is a sweet woman underneath it all, a good shoulder to cry on too. She’s just trying to look out for me”

“I have to know, with that accent, is she from New York?”

“Yep, Brooklyn.”

“Wow,” he said as he shook his head. “So, as I was saying out there... I am supposed to be busy, but we’re all taking a couple hours for breaks and I really wanted to see my girl,” he said with a smile, kissing her softly.

She smiled and returned the kiss, smiling at him when the kiss ended after a few moments. “I can try to ask for a lunch break since I haven’t had one yet, but I can’t guarantee anything...”

“I hope you can, I don’t know what time I’m getting home tonight and I promised Mom I’d come home home,” he chuckled.

Casey giggled. “I’ll beg then.” She slid from his arms and sat at Dolly’s desk before picking up the phone and pressing a button.

Pete looked about the office, waiting for her to find out if they could have lunch together. They had all decided to take three hours for lunch when they could barely concentrate on work. Pete had begged for three, when the original decision was one, because he wanted to be able to spend some time with Casey today, especially since the schedule coming up was pretty hectic. He was slightly startled when she slid an arm around his waist, bringing him rom the thoughts that has started pulling him into his own mind. “What’s she say?” He asked as he kissed her forehead.

“She said I could go ahead and have the rest of the day off since I was supposed to get off in three hours,” she answered, smiling.

Pete chuckled and wrapped his arm around her shoulder. “Then I think we need to go ahead and get,” he smiled.

Patrick looked up as Pete walked through the door; ten minutes late. Andy was about to open his mouth to say something about the lateness, but then he noticed the smile on Pete’s face and decided it was best to keep his mouth shut. Again, one of those rare smiles, that were becoming not so rare since he started dating Casey.

“How’s Casey?” Joe asked, looking up at Pete from his cell phone.

“She’s doing good, she was about to get out for us to have lunch together, by the way, Patrick?” The addressed looked at him, acknowledging him. “Her manager is fucking scary as Hell. I see what you meant now.” He looked to Joe. “She said to tell all of you guys hello. Including you. So, where are we picking up?”
