Patrick sighed softly as he leaned against the balcony of the room he shared with Andy, thinking about Casey and Pete the other day, feeling bad, and stupid, for how jealous he got. He knew he shouldn’t be jealous over it, but he was, and he felt like shit for it. Doubts about breaking up with his girlfriend were resurfacing since he hadn’t gotten anywhere with his feelings, or admitting them. He didn’t even know when his next chance would show itself.

Andy looked up from his book to see Patrick was still outside, head tilted down, leaning against the railing, right where he had been for the past hour and a half. He frowned and saved his spot before he got up and made his way to the doors, stepping out and standing next to his friend. “Hey...”

Patrick looked up at the drummer and frowned slightly, his eyes showing a mixture of guilt and regret. “Hey Andy,” he said as he leaned down, laying his chin on his hands.

Andy moved closer and rubbed his friend’s back softly. “Hey, you need someone to talk to?”

Patrick looked at him with a hesitant look before he nodded. “Yeah... But I don’t know if I can talk to you Andy,” he finally answered after a drawn out silence.

“But you know you can talk to me ‘Trick,” he said as he rubbed Patrick’s shoulder.

“I know I can talk to you Andy, I just... I meant I don’t know if I can get it out or not. I mean, I know you would be fine, maybe... I don’t know.”

Andy frowned and pushed his hair behind his ears, only to have it blow in his face again with how hard the wind was blowing this high up. “Pat, what are you talking about? Come on man, tell me what’s going on.”

“You know that I broke up with Amanda, right?” When Andy nodded, Patrick sighed and looked down at the road the hotel was off of, watching the different cars come and go. “Well... I sort of broke up with her because I have feelings for someone else and it felt so wrong... I felt like I was leading her on, but I wasn’t. I really did care for her, and I still care for her, just not in the same way anymore. Do you know what I mean?” He looked up at Andy.

“I do know what you mean,” he said with a nod. “You felt like you had to let her go so she could find someone who could give her the attention you feel she deserves. Someone who doesn’t have someone else on their mind when they’re spending time with her. Am I right?”

“Yeah. I also didn’t to end up falling in love with this person while still being with her. I mean, I love them already in one way, and have feelings for them, but letting myself fall for them when I’m still with her would have been wrong.”

Andy nodded and when he saw Patrick shiver, he went inside, coming back out very shortly with a hoodie Pete had made for Patrick. He handed it to Patrick, who smiled slightly and pulled it on, zipping it up. “Patrick, why is this eating you so badly? Who is it you like man?”

Patrick shook his head. “I can’t tell you Andy. That’s the thing. Anyone finding out could cause major trouble. And the last thing I want right now is trouble within the band.”

Andy frowned, looking a bit confused and concerned. “P-Patrick, who is it you like?” Patrick looked down and muttered a name; a name that made Andy drop the glasses he had been cleaning. “Oh.. My God...”
