I raised my head, when I heard the pounding on the door. Grabbing my neck, then standing up, I went to answer it.
"What?" I asked, yanking the door wide open.
"Well, good morning to you too," came a reply.
I looked up into the eyes of Jon. Yes, my friend from the pizza joint. "Jon? What are you doing here?"
"Eric called me. Said you wouldn't answer your phone."
"Sorry. I didn't even hear it ringing," I replied, looking up at him, "Why don't you come in?"
"Thanks."
I stepped out of the way, then closed the door behind him. He followed me into the kitchen. "You're up early," he said.
"Not really. I fell asleep at the kitchen table last night."
"You did what?" he asked, looking at me.
I smiled. "Don't ask."
"Alright then. How did the shows go?"
"That went great!" I said, pretty happy about them, "except that we lost our bus driver last night."
"You lost your bus driver?" Jon replied, laughing, "How did you manage to do that?"
I looked him in the eyes. "He died."
Jon stopped laughing. "I'm sorry."
I shook my head. "Don't worry about it."
Jon took a seat at the kitchen table. "What happened?"
I sat down across from him. "It happened while he was driving the bus. We don't what took him though."
Jon nodded. I went back to rubbing my neck. I heard a noise, glanced up and saw Jon coming my way. "Here, let me." I pulled my hand away and let Jon work his majic. Yes, he gives a fucking great massage. I closed my eyes and leaned my head back. Damn, this feels so good. I could finally feel the tension leaving my neck and shoulders. I felt like I was on cloud nine. I didn't think I could feel any better then this, but boy was I wrong. Before I knew it, Jon was kissing me softly and I responded. It took a minute before what was happening finally registered in my brain. I pulled back
"What are we doing?" I asked.
"I don't know what you were doing, but I was kissing you."
"I know that, but...why?" I needed to know.
"I wanted to," he replied, "Listen. Why don't we go out to breakfast. My treat?"
I nodded, still to stunned. He smiled, then walked out to start the car. I grabbed my jacket, keys and slowly followed, with my head still in a fog.
