Pete smiled as he rested his chin on the top of Casey’s head, holding her close for the first time in weeks, feeling like it had been longer since she came out to California to see him. He had lasted through her picking him up at the airport, and the hand holding on the gear shift, even though the car was an automatic, but now that they were at her apartment, they couldn’t help but be close to each other. He closed his eyes, enjoying the close feeling of his girlfriend again, happy to be back home in Chicago, with her.

Casey smiled against Pete’s chest, where her head was rested, and rubbed his back softly as they stood together in her living room, not even making it to her bed to cuddle with each other. She had missed his touch so much and it was getting slightly harder not to cry. She snuggled deeper into his chest and he chuckled softly as he if he knew why she had done it. She smiled a little bit more when his hold tightened around her.

A soft meow brought them from their moment as both looked down at the purring kitten that sat on the floor, looking up at them while his tail laid limp behind him. A louder meow, now that he had their attention, made Pete laugh and Casey giggle. “I think someone wants us in the room so he can snuggle too,” Pete said, looking at Casey, who smiled up at him. “What do you say?”

“I say I concur,” Casey replied as they unwillingly let go of each other. She moved to her couch and patted the top of it, watching as Jasper ran over, jumping onto the couch and then onto her shoulder, laying down with his back legs dangling on her back and his front paws stretched out in front of him.

“How did you get him to do that one?” Pete asked, staring at the two with a lifted brow as Jasper looked up at him, purring loudly.

“I didn’t. One day he was on top of the fridge when I was cleaning up the kitchen, and the next thing I know he’s jumping on and going limp” she giggled. “Now if I pat something high enough for him to jump on me from, but low enough for him to get on, he jumps on and lays on me.”

Pete chuckled and shook his head as he moved to her and rubbed Jasper’s head. “You’ve become a taxi for your own cat.”

“And I’m still trying to figure out where he learned it,” Casey smiled as her and Pete walked down her hallway to her bedroom. “The only thing I can think of is that one of the times Mr. Adams watched him for me he trained him to do it.”

In the bedroom, Jasper pulled up his back legs and used them to jump from Casey’s shoulder onto her bed, jumping onto her headboard, laying across it. Casey and Pete curled up together on the bed, their arms brushing together as they both slid an arm around each other’s waist. Pete smiled when he felt Casey’s hand lightly tracing his tattoo on his lower back through his shirt. He hated that tattoo, but she loved tracing it, so he let it be.

“I really missed you Pete,” she whispered as he rested his forehead against hers. “I’m glad I took that chance to visit you, it really did help...”

“Yeah it did,” he whispered, kissing her nose. “You’ll never believe what happened after you left though,” he chuckled softly.

“What happened?”

“Patrick and Joe started going out.”

Casey looked up at Pete, grinning. “Are you serious? Joe and Patrick are dating?”

Pete nodded, smiling. “Yep. Patrick finally got up the nerve to ask him after Andy and I talked him into it and Joe said yes.”

Casey chuckled. “Joe asked me not to tell, but he had a little thing for Patrick. But since Patrick was with someone he didn’t want to try and make any moves.”

Pete stared at her. “You mean he worried for nothing?” He snickered.

Casey nodded and kissed Pete softly. “That he did. But I’m glad they got together, I think it’s cute little couple.”

“They are happy so far,” Pete said with a small nod before he kissed her. “But enough of them for now.”

Casey held back a giggle when he kissed her again. “I see, drop the subject of Joe and Patrick so you can try to woo me, eh?”

Pete chuckled. “I don’t have to try to woo you, I already wooed and won,” he said before he kissed her jawline.

“Oh, did you now?” Casey giggled. “And where did you get that crazy idea?”

“From the fact that I can make you cling to me for dear life, right now, by doing something I know you love,” he said. “Do you doubt me or must I prove your wrong?”

“If you think you can, go for it,” she smiled.

Pete chuckled and looked at her before sneering at her, making her giggle and snuggle close to him. “Told you so,” he said, kissing the top of her head. “Now can I kiss you?” He asked, smiling.

Casey lifted her head from his chest, grinning slightly. “Well, fair is fair, even though that is a cheating card,” she answered before she leaned her head up and met his mouth with her own when he lowered his head.

[Author's Note: BTW, the trick Jasper has my cat Chloe actually does do. I honestly have no idea where she learned it, but she'll jump on something then jump on my shoulder, usually my left one for some reason or another lol.

Oh... Who DOESN'T love Pete's sneer!? ^^]
