Chapter 2: So Close, yet so Far Away.
I’m going to civilization once I wake up. The cut in my side is stitching and I’ll be able to move if I get some energy up. I’m gona get some serious sleep tonight and hope I can make the run.
I found a river, great. I remember that if you find a river, follow it. You’re sure to find someone. I hope that’s true. The river isn’t moving, so I can’t really tell for certain where it’s going. But I’ll guess and hope for the best.

Bingo.
I stayed the rest of the day there. Here’s what I know now.
The people are just as everything else. They don’t move, not a blink. I actually started talking to this one racoon so I could break the loneliness, but unfortunately I’m in too much pain to really pretend enough.
I tried to pick up a hotdog from a guys stand. I really tried to go slow. But it suddenly got color and burst into flames from the shift. I figured as much. It’s right there, right in front of me.

I have to concentrate.
I’m staying in a motel. I don’t know why, but neither the ground nor the bed I’m laying on burst into flames. Maybe because they weigh more than me.
Heck, at this rate, a twig is gona weigh more than me.

Got a lot of explaining for that one don’t I?
It’s been about two days now, I think.
I found food. A berry bush, colored and everything, just laying there in the middle of the center of the fountain in the middle of town. I wasn’t too sure if I was seeing things or not. But it was real all right.
Thinking back on it, it was so stupid of me. I ran right up and ate the stuff, didn’t care. It isn’t any type of berry I know of. It’s like a cherry in appearance, but bigger. It’s colors shift from green to yellow and blue and red and all sorts of cool colors. But I figured, if I’m gona die, it’s either of starvation or this berry being poisonous. At least with the second option, I have a chance.
Weirdest thing is, I’ve only eaten three total. They are just so filling. They seem to fill me up with energy. My wound has even healed.
But I can’t just lye down and be a lazy guy. I have to get moving and find a way home. There are about seventeen berries le
A light?
I saw a light just now. It’s red, on the horizon. I have to get too it. It may lead me home, or at least be something other than sitting around.
It vanished.
