Chapter 3: Mystery Lights
Page 9:
I saw it again, it’s moving. I ran after it, after picking all the berries from that plant and stuffing them in my gloves (got nowhere else to put em) I took off after the thing. I ran a while, a long while actually, but I’m not to it yet. It’s still about fifty miles away. I normally could clear that easily, but it’s moving away from me every time I move toward it. It’s getting bigger, so that means I’m catching up with it at least.
I stopped to write this down, only because this light may be dangerous, and this may be the last thing anyone ever hears of me. Tails, Amy, all of you. If you find this one day, I want you to know that I cared for you all.
It’s moving again.
Forget it, I’m not moving near that thing. It’s not a light at all. It’s a fire, a huge fire. I saw it just a few moments ago, as I was heading to it. It suddenly went from just a light to a scorching inferno.
A moving inferno? How odd this all is.
What is really odd is that the terrain is changing as I get closer. Where there should be that old Green Hills place I use to hang at, there is now a giant mountain, where the fire is. I guess it’s a volcano or something. And it’s colored, meaning it’s in this “time” or something. I don’t know.
Maybe I should sit down with Eggy one day and discuss this.
Page 10:
Another light, this one’s green. I’m gona move toward it. It’s far away, but it’s not moving. What ever is generating it must be bright.
Okay, this is different. I was down to my last berry, and I find a jungle. A big one too. It’s inside the light, or it’s the thing giving it off, because it’s surrounded in the light. I think it’s generating the light. Maybe it wasn’t the fire that made that light. Maybe it was the entire mountain.
There some type of territory I think. Why does this one not move.
Well, it doesn’t matter, I’m getting more of these berries. There are a lot of them. I can stay here for a few days. I can’t go very far in though, because I hear noises I definitely don’t want to hear, or see what made them for that matter.
It’s gone, the entire thing is gone, vanished.
I’m lucky I stalked up, I have to find that light again.
Page 11:
I’ve searched for the lights everywhere. I’ve been from town to town, searching for them. Nothing. Right now I’m along the beach.
No lights yet, but I found something else, the Floating Island. I’ve been wondering where old Knux has been hiding. Now how to get up there?
Ah, I had an idea. Tails would be proud I’m sure. I’m going to test the idea now.
It worked all right, if I pick up a rock and throw it, it takes a second to burst, then settles. I threw one high up, and it settled in the air. It’s floating in the air right now. Excellent. I’m going to try and jump up there, using these rocks as stepping stones. If I jump fast enough, I’ll make it.
Page 12:
Made it.
Floating island is same as always, I doubt this place changes much. Same old jungle, same old everythi woah!
Wow, I actually wrote that down. Too bad I’m stuck with a pen. Oh well.
Anyway, I thing Knux was having some serious problems. He’s fighting Robo Knuckles right now, and he’s about to lose, big time. I’m talking get his head cut off if he or RK don’t move at least an inch. Maybe I can trip him up a bit. Hehe.
I’ll leave this rock in RK’s eye. Either he’ll be distracted by it’s sudden appearance, or it will fly in his eye and break it. Either way works fine, Knux should kick his butt. Hehe.
Time to go, I saw another light. Blue this time, and it’s moving. A lot. It’s faster than the red one and it’s out at sea.
Nemo to self, when water cannot move, it is easy to walk on. This is lucky.
That light moves so erratically, I’ll eventually catch up to it if I B-line it. But I’m keeping my fingers crossed just in case. Wish me luck.
Page 13:
Wow, what a trip. I’m back on dry land luckily. The light this time was water, moving water that isn’t affected by the time thing, like the forest or that mountain before. Why? It was fresh too, odd considering it was in the middle of the ocean. I drank a lot, even though I never realized how thirsty I was. I thought these berries were providing all my needs, but water was still one I needed, I just never noticed.
Well, I remember that if you drink too much you could re-hydrate too fast and do some damage to yourself. So I steadies my intake.
Something feels weird, very weird. I saw another light today, a yellow one. It’s been about a week since I last wrote anything, don’t know why I stopped. I found the green light and it’s jungle again, good thing too as I ran out of berries a day before hand. I was hungry.
This light is yellow/orange/gold. It kina shifts around in color, but it seems stationary. I’m going to head for it. I don’t know why, these lights haven’t given me a way home yet, but they are the only thing that move in this place.
I’m currently in the desert not far from that old pyramid that Eggman hid in that one time. I wonder if anything there still works. I may check it out when I wake up.
For now, I’m getting some sleep.
