Chapter 4: Here There Be Monsters
Page 14:
I’m afraid. Genuinely afraid.
First thing that happened today was a dream. A nightmare to be exact.
I was running, running from something. I couldn’t shake it. It always came at me. Then there were more. I couldn’t see them, but I could hear them. Teeth gnashing, claws scrapping against the ground, which I could also not see.
Then I found myself in a circle’s center. There were things surrounding it. I called out too them for help, though I can’t say I know what they were. Then, there were the shadows. They came at me, and grabed at me. They tried to consume me, then the monsters caught up, and they tried to kill me too.
The dream ends there. The last thing was an image of a horrid monster, twisted in mind and body, horrible in every manner. But for the life of me, I don’t remember what It looked like.
That wasn’t the weirdest thing to happen, but that comes latter. Now, I desided to check out Eggy’s pyramid for some fun. And to forget the dream. Finding it wasn’t hard, getting inside wasn’t hard. Not getting lost inside, that was hard.
He’s still there, I even saw him. He’s hiding out in his old base because noone is looking for him there. Smart guy, I’ll give the fat genious that. Though his force is considerably weaker now after Metal Sonic high-jacked his fleet of ships. I’m sure that cost a pretty penny. Hehe.
I was just there, wandering, looking for something entertaining, when it happened. The weird thing.
Everything moved at once, but only for an instant. Then it was still again. When it happened, all the colors came back, but as the exact opposit of what they were suppose to be. The walls were dark blue, the robots red, the lines between the bricks were green. It was just odd. But that wasn’t the worst. I saw them, those monsters from my dream.
They’re huge and scaly, completely black in color. They look like black ghost things. They’re lizard like for the most part, with big glowing blue or yellow eyes. It was just an instant, but it seemed like an eternity. After everything went still again, the monsters disappeared, along with the color.
And then I noticed something else, the reason why I got lost. The entire inside of the place seemed to have changed, the place seemed to be warped or something. I really wish I had a hint of what’s going on.
I walked on though, but it just got worse. It’s some kind of distortion or something, but everything has gone wacky. After walking through five rooms, I found myself walking on the cealing. I’m freaking out.
But the worst was Eggman. I first saw him in a chair in a room overlooking the robot factory. He was just sitting there in his easy chair, looking out at the construction in his pajamas as he sipped on a cup of coffee.
Not this time.
Page 15:
He was standing. And his back wasn’t to me this time, instead he was standing up in his full outfit, looking right at me as I walked in the door.
At first I thought that time had restart, but it hadn’t. He still didn’t move, just stood there looking at me with a menace that I’ll remember to my grave.
I ran, what else could I do? I ran out of the pyramid, seeing the once happy working robots I’d passed on the way in now floating in the air, in pieces.
And I heard them again, those things. Now even the terrain has changed, the flat sands replaced with a large jagged tower like rock every thirty feet. It’s hard to move around them.
I must be losing it, this can’t be happening. What’s going on here? I have to stay focused, I have to reach a city. I’ll forget the light for now, it’s not going anywhere.
After I get some sleep, I’m headed for Station Square.
I’m feeling a lot better now, no nightmare this time. I’ll head out for the city now. I hope Tails is where I left him.
