Chapter 6: Nightmare
Page 19:
Another flux. This one actually stayed on for a second. I heard birds chirping, and felt the wind for that brief moment. It filled me with hope. That’s the good news.
The bad news is that the forest is as twisted as the city, if not more. I’m looking at an upside down tree as I write this. Those monsters are back too, and closing in. I’m off.
Something attacked me. Not that I mind a little non-boredom and fear of the unknown, but it tried to eat me. I couldn’t see it either. I just heard those twisted and deformed bushes move. They MOVED! That alone scares me. But what was worse is that these two eyes flashed in front of me. Then they disappeared. Then reappeared closer, along with a mouth. A big mouth.
I used my namesake ability and hit the dirt road. I’m passing a farm at the moment, tired from that little sprint. The light is brighter than ever now, but I’m going to rest. Don’t even ask me about the cows though. Lets just say they aren’t suppose to have that many heads. Or teeth.
On the move again.

It’s bright. Warm. Everything beyond it’s ending is the same, but within....
It’s all gold. Shiny. It seems alive again. And there’s this wonderful music, and a true sense of something grand. I’m almost to the center. I have to walk, I need to enjoy this.
