Chapter 1: Ancient Power and a Sunny Day
In a dark, dank room, a bluish white orb appeared and began to light up the night sky in a harsh glow. In a burst of luminosity, the orb popped, revealing a dark, hooded figure clutching a sword in its right hand. The figures hooded head slowly rose to take in its surroundings. The room was old, obviously from lack of use. Cobwebs and dust littered the floor and ceiling of the room, which looked as if it would collapse from the added weight of the figure standing on it.
The being's eyes; very light yellow in appearance, examined the room fully. The being shifted when it noticed a decrepit door about 10 feet away, and began to head towards it, striding slowly as if stalking through the room. Suddenly, the being broke its stride to stop merely 5 feet from the door. Its left hand rose towards its face, its other hand coming over to gently stroke the ring that sat on its left hand. Its right index finger gently caressed the crimson red stone that sat in the center of the ring, its eyes snapped up to glare at the door. Within seconds the door was blown completely off its hinges and the being grinned devilishly.
Its right arm moved to place the weapon in its sheath, which hung loosely on the beings back. It located a set of stairs that seemed to lead outside of the house, and proceeded to descend down them towards the exit. The door again flew off of its hinges as the being glared at it.
Apparently, this brought about some unwanted attention as the being heard hushed voices and whispers as it exited the building. It lifted those eerily piercing eyes once again to examine those around him, and they seemed to cringe in fear as a response, all but one. This human, the being assumed it was, approached it aggressively, his hand tucked in his robes as if gripping something. He approached without fear, that much was admirable, if it wasn't so utterly foolish. Still, the being did not react as it could probably extract some information from this foolish man.
"Oi! Who are you and what're you doing 'ere?" the man asked rudely as he assumed an offensive stance.
The being did not look towards the man, choosing only to respond to what it deemed worthy of conversation.
"And where is here?" it asked in a deep, menacing voice. The man responded by drawing what appeared to be a stick and aimed it at the hooded figure.
"Those are some nice looking robes, hand them over!" the man growling, raising his puny stick higher, towards the figure's face. It was at this moment that those menacing eyes turned and met the man's set of deep brown eyes dead on. The man shuttered slightly, as he was caught off guard by the depth and mysteriousness of those eyes.
"Very well then," the figured replied in a bone chillingly menacing voice. Its left hand rose slowly, fingers facing outwards towards the man holding the stick. Its index finger twitched to the left slightly, a miniscule movement that most would not notice. However, the effects of the movement were immediate. The man holding the stick was flung savagely towards his right, slamming into a nearby wall with tremendous force. The man slid to the ground with a thump, his body limp and his eyes lifeless. What few people who were still watching the exchange fled in a flash, terror evident in their eyes and quick breaths. The being let out a maniacal cackle as it strode off into the depths of the alley with an evil smirk on its face...

"Good morning everyone," Harry said elatedly as he sat next to Ginny at the breakfast table. Ginny smiled warmly at him as he sat and leaned over to give him a quick peck on the lips.
"Come on, I'm trying to eat here!" Ron whined as he watched the brief exchange between his best mate and sister. He didn't really mind the two of them dating, as they had already been doing it for a good two years now, but that didn't mean that he wanted to see them doing things like /that/.
Ginny broke her gaze with Harry to shoot her brother an annoyed look, "Oh shut it already Ronald! At least we're not as bad as you two!"
Harry chuckled as he saw the telltale blush creep into Ron's cheeks as Hermione turned a delicate shade of pink herself. Mrs. Weasley came over with a large tray full of crispy bacon, sausages, hash browns and pancakes and set it down in the middle of the table."Eat up while it's warm," she said in an affectionate, motherly tone. Forgetting his previous embarrassment, Ron dove into snatching food from the tray and shoveling it in his mouth. Hermione glared at Ron with annoyance as he helped himself to a decent serving,
"Honestly Ronald, must you eat like that?" Ron gazed up from his plate and saw Hermione's disapproving stare.
"What? I'm hungry is all, been bloody starving for hours 'Mione!" Ron replied with a mouthful of food. Hermione grunted with frustration,
"Language Ronald, you're hopeless,"she stated. Ron swallowed a huge lump of food down his throat and replied with a cheeky grin,
"Good thing I have you around to help me out then huh?" Ron leaned in before she could reply and placed a firm kiss on her lips, smiling at her slight blush before returning to his plate.
Ginny decided it was time to change the subject, "When do you leave for work love?" she asked. Harry furrowed his brow in concentration before answering,
"I don't have to be there at least until noon. Not much going on with the Aurors these days since all the Death Eaters are locked up," Harry replied.
Ron interjected quickly, "You know, I'm an Auror too Ginny. Glad to see you have a one track mind."
Ginny smirked devilishly at Ron. Harry knew that look; it meant that she was about say something that'd really ruffle Ron up, "Well sorry big brother, but I asked Harry so I could see how much snogging time we could get in before he gets dragged off today."
Ron dropped his knife and fork and pushed his plate away, "Thanks for killing my appetite Gin, I really appreciate it," Ron snarled sarcastically. Ginny gave him an innocent smile,"Serves you right for being nosy." Everyone at the table shared a chuckle as they finished eating and rose to go about their business for the day.
True to her word, Ginny grabbed Harry's hand, interlacing their fingers as she led him out to the lake that sat near the Burrow. They lay down by the lake's edge, Ginny lying on top of Harry. For several minutes they just remained in that comfortable embrace, kissing and laughing and talking as the sun beamed down on them and warmed them up. They finally relaxed as Ginny laid her head on Harry's chest, her hands drawing circles on it gently. Harry's chin was resting on her soft hair as one hand held her waist lightly and the other stroked up and down her back soothingly. After several moments of contentment in the silence Ginny spoke,
"You're perfect Harry. I love you."
Harry smiled,"You're everything to me Ginny, and you're my heart. I love you with all I am."
Ginny moved her head from his chest and brought her lips to his in a heated, passionate kiss. A moment later, both of them sensed someone approaching and broke the kiss. Harry sat up slowly, bringing Ginny with him. She remained lodged between his legs, her back facing his chest and her head feel back and rested on his shoulder. Ron approached the couple, apprehension and nervousness evident in his body language.
"Harry, we've got to go right now mate. The Ministry just owled, there's been a murder in Knockturn Alley." Ron's voice was laced with tension. There must be more to the story than what Ron was letting on, but he didn't want to address it right now for fear of worrying Ginny for no reason. Harry stood, bringing Ginny with him as he did, arms still wrapped around her waist loosely. He looked in her eyes and saw the same thoughts he had reflected back at him. He brushed her cheek gently,
"I'll owl as soon as I can love."Ginny nodded slightly and leaned up on her toes to place a firm, loving kiss on Harry's lips. She broke the kiss and brought one of her hands up to brush the side of his forehead, where his scar was.
"Be careful, both of you," she then let go of Harry and headed towards the Burrow, waving as she left. Ron clapped a hand on Harry's shoulder and smiled,
"You really do make her happy. You know that right?" Harry glanced at Ron and let a smile creep across his face.
"She makes me the happiest bloke in the world. Now let's hurry up and sort this out so I can come back home and finish what I started," Harry grinned.
"Hey! That's still my sister you're talkin about!" Ron exclaimed in mock warning tone. Both men chuckled as they both turned on the spot and Apparated to the Ministry...
