MIKEY’S POV.
Sidney. Sid. She’s awesome. To think, a few days ago I was murderous and suicidal over my brother and his piece of fluff. It was the Wednesday after the incident that I walked into the tour bus looking for my gameboy, when I saw this girl sitting cross legged in Gerard’s bunk, reading one of his previously unopened Fangoria magazines. “Y’know, people have been shot around here for less.” She jumped, startled. Then she put the book down hastily and smiled at me “Hi. I’m Sid.” I smiled back. “I’m Mikey.” We shook hands and I explained to her that Gerard subscribes, but only opens issues three months at a time. She looked confused. I didn’t blame her, he’s a freak. She told me who she was and why she was here, then we talked more, got to know each other. Before I knew it, it had been three hours. It was odd, because I never usually can just talk to strangers, especially girls. But around Sid, I’m…Confident. So we talked more and she mentioned having to sleep alone in the trailer when Brian isn’t here, so to my own astonishment, I suggested a sleep over thingy with movies and pizza and the works. She agreed and I said I’d go pick up some stuff and be back in half an hour. So I went back to the hotel, had a shower, went by the pizza shop and ordered, went to the supermarket and bought Yahoo, chocolate, peanut butter, Coke and Doritos. Then I picked up the pizzas and went back. There was a small snag in what movie to watch first, and after a long and epic battle it was decided that we watch The Toolbox Murders, then Ghostbusters, then The Rocky Horror Picture show. So the first two went past uneventful, except a small peanut butter war incident and Sid being way too scared of the Nail Gun scene in Toolbox. But then, in the dinner scene in Rocky, something interesting happened…
When Eddie said he didn’t like his teddy you knew he was a no good kid-
I have my arm around her and-
But when he threatened your life with a switchblade knife-
She’s snuggling closer and-
What a guy-
She’s really pretty-
Makes you cry-
I mean, Gerard can get fucked. And not by me and-
Und I did.
And she’s leaning in and touching my cheek and her hand’s so warm and she’s kissing me and this is heaven.
So I spent the next few days with her and we become good… ahem… Friends up until the meeting. The meeting was ok too. Me and rank formed some unspoken truce. Me and Gerard still aren’t talking, I suppose, cause I could sense he was ignoring me. But A thing that annoyed me, was that when Sid introduced herself, and for the rest of the day, everyone seemed to be damn interested in her. Frank’s mouth stayed in a state of permanent jaw dropped awe, Gerard was trying to do his whole “Aloof, don’t really notice you” act, and I could tell. Bob looked pretty engaged when they were talking about Lars Ulrich too. The only one who wasn’t fazed by her was Ray, who genuinely seemed to not notice her. The rest of the day was spent packing and bringing stuff down.
And now it’s Tuesday and we’re on our way. I’m curled up on the couch with a ’78 The Amazing Spiderman watching a WW1 special on TV. Gerard’s drawing something, Frank’s playing guitar, I don’t know where Ray is, and Bob and Sid are playing The Sims on Xbox. I try to ignore them but it’s hard to drown out.
“Oh my god! Sid your bitch just made out with Gerard!”
‘I know. I need them to get married so I can change his clothes!”
“What the fuck? Ray saw!”
“And? So did Frank. He’ll be sad as well. Look, the points have gone back to 30 between him and Sid.”
“Yeah, But Ray and Frank were mad WooHooing before.”
“Hah, so what’s he whinging about?”
Bob and Sid are hysterical with laughter and so’s Frank. As much as I’m trying top act like mine and Sid’s fling means nothing, I really like her. But she doesn’t feel the same way, I guess. The kiss probably meant nothing to her. But I think I made it obvious that I liked her.
Over on the couch, Sidney is on Franks lap, trying to play something he’s just taught her. She plays it wrong, which results in tickling. She falls off the couch, stands up and flips Frankie off. She walks straight past me into the kitchen where Gerard is seated. She lifts herself up onto the table next to his drawing. “Whatcha workin on?” She says. I watch eagerly. Gerard’s been trying his best to ignore her, so this could play out well. “Erm… Drawing wolves.” He says quietly. She nods and cups her chin in her hands, moving so her elbows are resting on the table. And her cleavage is right in Gerard’s line of sight. Is she doing that on purpose? What’s her problem?
But to my relief, Gerard doesn’t turn into putty like Frankie would, and simply keeps drawing. She smiles and comes over to me. I bury my nose back into my comic.
SIDNEY’S POV
I’m laying on the table watching Gerard draw. He’s so perfect… If only he knew. But he doesn’t even notice me. Not when I make his coffee in the morning, and wash his clothes. Ah well. I give him a pretty smile and walk over to Mikey, and plop myself on his lap. “Whatcha read’n?” He looksup at me. Something is wrong. His eyes look…Different. Cloudy. I lean in close “What’s wrong?” He says nothing, but takes my arm and leads my outside, pulling me slightly. On the way out I see Gerard lift up his head and cock it to one side. Yay! He noticed me! I walk down the stairs to where Mikey’s pacing the grass back and forth, looking at the ground. “What’s up, Mikes?” He looks up at me and says “Do you like me Sidney?” Woah. What a random question. I met Mikey first of all the members. And I knew I’d like him. He’s shy and really cute. So we were getting along really well, and I kissed him. Was that a mistake? I didn’t wanna give him the wrong impression… He seems upset. Could he know about Gerard? “Ok, what’s the deal with you?” He says softly. “What do you mean?” He rolls his eyes; “Don’t play dumb, Sid. First, you kiss me and lavish attention on me. Then, you sit on Frankie’s lap and drool all over the other guys and ignore me. What’s going on?” Bugger. Not this shit again. “Oh, that. Look, Mikey, I don’t like the other guys. I’m just like that. I don’t consider it flirting. If someone’s my friend, I’ll show it. Frankie was teaching me guitar and that was the most comfy position. I’ve seen you do it yourself with him or Ray. And Bob, well, I don’t think I’ve met anyone into the Sims as much as I am. And I don’t think Gerard likes me very much. So I was trying to make friends. Sorry if I hurt you, I didn’t mean it to be that way. I really like you, Mikey.” I blush. I’m not lying. I do like him. Not as much as certain other people though. I’m in love with Gerard. Frankie’s cute too.. And Bob is soooo funny. But I do like Mikey. He looks at me again. “Really? I was so worried you liked the other guys better than me… I thought…” I cut him off “Well you were reading and watching TV. I didn’t want to disturb you. That’s why I only tried Gerard once.” I sigh, then wishe I hadn’t. Would it have betrayed my secret? “Don’t worry about Gerard. It’s not that he doesn’t like you. He just has trouble letting new people in.” I can tell that isn’t it, but I don’t want to hurt his feelings. “Gerard can be just as shy as I am.” I laugh “But you don’t seem that shy, Michael.” Then he blushes. “That’s the thing. Around you, I’m not. It’s like I’m this confident Mikey around you. I guess that’s why I like spending time with you so much. I get along with you really well and your loads of fun. And really pretty too.” He goes a deeper shade of red as I giggle. “Thank you. Now lets go inside, yeah? You can help me make dinner.” Mikey nods and follows me up the stairs. Gerard is no longer seated at the table, and I can’t see him. We walk into the kitchen and I search the cupboards. Maybe I should have researched this “Busmaid” thing. Ah well, pasta it is.
Cause if no one is I'll wrap it up. If it's good, please let me know and I'll keep going. xx.
