Casey yawned as she crashed on her bed, smiling slightly when Jasper jumped onto the bed and then onto her back, purring contentedly as he laid down, stretched out, on her back. Obviously he was happy to have her home and she was happy to be home in Chicago. As much as she loved her grandmother, she had missed Chicago more than she could have imagined; mainly because it had become her new home. She smiled as Jasper began kneading her hair from his stretched out position, his purring becoming louder as he did so. “Yeah, I missed you too baby boy,” she said before she yawned again.

She slid her hand into her pocket and took out her cell phone, dialing Patrick’s number since he had made her promise to call him and the others when she got back to her apartment. She had spent the last two weeks in Florida without Pete, but it had been perfectly okay since Jeffrey and her mother, Mary, hadn’t bothered her in those last two weeks. They were too busy arguing with themselves.

She smiled when she heard Patrick’s voice pick up the phone. “Hey Tricky, I’m home,” she said as she got comfy as best as she could without disturbing Jasper.

Patrick made a small noise of joy. “Are you really home hon?”

“Yeah, I’m at the apartment as we speak, getting welcomed home by Jasper,” she answered as Jasper gave a small meow. She giggled softly. “Apparently he says hello. So, has Pete been driving you guys insane while I was gone?”

Patrick chuckled. “Yes he has. He’s been bouncing around one minute, for some weird reason, and then moping the next when he remembers you’re not here yet. But thank God you’re back, we can calm him down now.”

Casey smiled. “Hey, don’t let him know I made it in yet since I forgot to tell him when my flight home was. I want to stop by and surprise him. Do you think that will be okay?”

“I’ll let the guy at the security desk know you’re coming.”

“Thank you Tricky!” She smiled. “I’ll see you guys in about two hours. Love you.”

“Love you too sweet heart.”

Pete sighed as he paced the sound room, wanting to be back in Florida with Casey. He hated the fact that he had to leave her, but with the sound board fixed from the “accident,” he had to return to get back to work on the album. He sent a small glare at Joe, who was for some reason chuckling at him and shaking his head. “What the Hell is so funny?” He growled.

“Down tiger,” Joe said with an annoying grin. “I just find it amusing that you’re pacing this place like a wild animal stuck in a cage.”

“Sorry if I’d rather be somewhere else right now,” Pete huffed as he sat down on his chair.

“Hey, we would all rather be somewhere else right now,” Andy said, obviously referring to being with Shaun. “But the sooner we get this album done, the sooner we can go where we want to.”

“And again Andy makes a point,” Joe said as he glanced into the sound booth where Patrick was playing his guitar and singing another take since he had messed up a moment ago. He was beginning to think he was the only one paying attention to Patrick at the moment. “Look Pete, I’m sure Casey is going to be home soon, so chill out. She’ll call you if anything goes wrong, and you know it.”

Pete sighed and nodded. “Yeah, I know...”

“We’ll look who’s finally back,” Dolly exclaimed, pulling Casey into a tight hug as soon as Casey walked into her office. “Took you fucking long enough,” she said as she pulled back and looked at the girl who she thought of as a daughter. “Is everything okay?”

“Everything’s fine Dolly,” she said, smiling ear to ear as she brushed some hair from her face, purposely using her left hand, which was quickly snatched up by Dolly.

“What the Hell is that on your hand Casey? Don’t tell me that fucker proposed to you after that crap that happened. I’ll fucking murder him.”

“You’re not murdering him Dolly,” Casey said with a smile. “I just wanted to stop in and tell you I’m home and let you know about me being engaged. I’m heading over to the studio to surprise my guy. When did you want me back to work?”

Dolly scoffed and shook her head. “Come in a couple of days from now. I’ll make room for you on the schedule,” she said as she pulled Casey in for one more hug. “I can’t believe you just got back from Florida and all you’re thinking about it when you work next. You need to quit worrying. You know I always take care of you so you can take care of yourself some time. Now go surprise your man and then get some rest. You hear me?”

“Yes Dolly,” Casey giggled as she turned and left the office.

When the office messenger knocked on the door to the sound room, Pete looked at Joe to get it, but he shook his head and kept looking at Patrick. Pete knew there was no point in looking at Andy, since he was texting back and forth with Shaun, so he got up and went to the door, opening it. “Can I help you?” He asked the guy that was about his age.

“This is for you Mr. Wentz,” the messenger said as he handed Pete an envelope. “The message just got here a couple of minutes ago.”

“Thank you,” Pete said as he opened the envelope and looked down as he pulled out the paper that was inside. He stared down at the two words that stood in the middle of the page. Confused, he looked up to see Casey standing next to the messenger. Looking back down at the words, and then at Casey, the message clicked and he pulled her close, hugging her tightly.
