The Return of the Boy Who Lived

Okay, I should have read the first chapter closer. I understand more now, and will still be looking forward to what this version of Neville will do with what looks to be a rekindled friendship with Harry.Author's response
Okay; I'm glad you are up to speed; and; in this verse; the Golden Trio is going to be Harry, Hermione and Neville, with Ron sort of taking canon Neville's place.
That's not to say that things will go exactly the way they did in canon. GRIN

I like this Neville. With his foreknowledge, he's able to start tweaking the timeline to improve things. Between an arguement his Gran will accept for getting a proper wand (that's a right proper one, too; I imagine she was impressed at his reasoning, if not his using his own wand) and his efforts to befriend and help both Harry and Hermione, it's going to alter the dynamics for first year considerably. It will be interesting to see how the universe resists his efforts and how strong the reaction will be.Author's response
Thanks; I don't expect too many problems for the first year, because the pieces are already in place, but, going forward, the ripples are going to cause changes to things that Neville remembers, so that his future knowledge won't be as useful.

I've seen this story before but never bothered to read it. Now I know how much I've missed out on! I'm very glad you've made Neville Harry's first friend his age instead of that Parasite MoooRon! That boy has got to have the worst case of foot in mouth disease ever seen! Not to mention being a coward! How he got sorted into Gryffindor is beyond me! I already know he hasn't the brains for Ravenclaw, the loyalty for Hufflepuff nor the cunning for Slytherin. So where they could possibly put him I have no idea. But I can see Snape trying to beat some manners into him and totally failing! As for doing his classwork/homework, that'd take an act of GOD, Merlin, Morgana Budda, and likely many other deities! Of course, sending him home would save his poor family much gold. Hogwarts ain't cheap!
