The next thing I know, I’m soaking wet in ice-cold water.
“BERT! I’m going to kill you, motherfucker!” he laughed maniacally as both Frank and I chased him, Bob, Ray, Mikey and Gerard around my house. We jumped on him and Gee pinning them face up to the floor.
“My baby!” moaned Gee pointing to Bert, who was pinned by me a few feet away from where he and Frank were.
“My baby!” wined Bert, grasping for Gerard
“Aw, Domino. You’re getting me all wet.”
“Well that’s your fault for pouring water on me you dumb fuck.”
“I only did that cause you sleep like a fucking log. Besides, Frankie needed a cold shower.”
“Bert!” I yelled, slapping him upside the head. Mikey, Bob and Ray – who were sitting on the couch next to us – were laughing hysterically for no apparent reason.
“Idiot, now I need to change my clothes.” I said, getting up and pulling Bert with me. Frank followed my lead with Gerard.
“You guys go dry out in the garden, Frank, I was covering most of you, so you’re okay. I’ll be out in about five minutes. Don’t break the trampoline.”
“TRAMPOLINE!” MCR shouted in unison before running outside. Frank stole a glance at Bert, who glared back, on his way out.
“What is your problem?” I asked, slapping him in the arm.
“Problem? Me? I don’t have a problem with you going out with the horniest guy on the planet.”
“Bert, you’re the horniest guy on the planet. Besides, I’m not going out with him. Stop worrying about me okay, I can take care of myself.” I hugged him and he kissed my cheek.
“I care about you is all, you’re like a sister to me, and the guys. I just don’t wanna see you get hurt.”
“I know. I won’t. I’ll be careful, okay? Now go outside and show ‘em how it’s done.” He grinned and ran for the door. I went upstairs, got changed and went back into the garden where the boys were pretending to hump each other on the trampoline. I giggled and jumped when Alexander – the butler – tapped me on the shoulder.
“The boys are here to see you ma’am.”
“Thanks Alex. Can you get me ten drinks, non-alcoholic, and lots of potato chips? Put them in the lounge with Quinn and the guys.”
“Yes ma’am.” I thanked him and went over to Bert who was standing at the side watching Ray and Mikey ‘fuck’
“Hey B, Quinn and the guys are here. Come on inside, we got juice and chips!” I shouted to the rest of them when Bert had sprinted off in search of his best friend. Frank, Ray, Bob and Mikey followed suit. Gerard however, walked with me.
“What did Bert say to you?”
“Nothing. He was just looking out for me. Do you think Frank’s a good guy?”
“Yeah, Frank’s great. Bert is just being over-protective. Besides Frank likes you, he told me.”
“Were you supposed to tell me?”
“Probably not…” I grinned and he followed me inside.
We hung out for a few hours and Kayla came in just as the MCR boys were leaving.
“Hey Kayla.”
“Hi Domino, oh hey guys. Domino can I talk to you for a minute.”
“Sure.”
“I’m moving in with my fiancé!”
“Oh My God! That’s great news. When?”
“Two weeks.”
“Wow. I’m so happy for you.”
“Thanks, I’m going to go and tell the others.”
“Okay.”
I went back into the living room. And we hung out some more.
“Dude, what time is it?” asked Quinn, yawning.
“2:30. You guys can stay here tonight if you want.”
“Thanks babe. Can we go now? I’m wicked tired.”
“Yeah, Bert you’re in my room, as usual.” He nodded and we headed to the bedrooms. They got their Po’s out of one of my drawers and went to bed. They stay over all the time so I’ve decided to dedicate a drawer to them. We were lying in bed, when Bert tapped my shoulder.
“Domino, you still awake?”
“Yeah B, what is it?”
“I just want to say, I'm sorry I was on your case about Frank. Its just, you’re like a sister to me, and I don’t want you to get hurt.
“I know. Its okay, sorted. I know you were just looking out for me. Besides, I don’t even know if he likes me like that.”
“Are you kidding? He couldn’t keep his eyes off you!” I blushed.
“Goodnight Bert.”
“Night babe.” We went to sleep and I had sweet, Frank based, dreams.
The next day, I was awoken by Bert’s mobile going off. He was nowhere to be seen so I abided by our rule and picked it up.
“Hello? Bert’s mobile.”
“Hey, it’s Gerard. Is that you Domino?”
“Yeah.”
“Oh, hey dude. Is Bert around?”
“I don’t know where he is. He might be in the shower.”
“Cool. When you see him can you tell him to phone me back?” Yeah, sure.” Thanks Domino, Uh Frank wants to talk to you.”
“Really! Uh, I mean really. Cool put him on.” I heard the phone being passed around until heard his voice on the other side.
“Domino?”
“Hey Frank. What did you want to talk to me about?”
“Um…do you want to go to dinner with me tonight?”
“Yeah, I’d like that.”
“Really! I mean, cool.” I smiled and told him to pick me up at 6:30. I had just hung up when Bert came back in the room.
“Who were you talking to?” he asked, sitting on the edge of my bed.
“Gerard and Frank. Gee asked if you’d phone him back.”
“I’ll do that now.” He phoned him quickly and arranged for hem to come to my house.
They all arrived and we hung out for the rest of the day. At about 7 we were at the restaurant.
“Italian okay?” he asked as we headed inside. I nodded and walked through the door as he held it open for me, mock bowing me in. we went to the desk,
“I booked a table for two.” He said to the receptionist.
“Name?”
“Iero.” A waiter grabbed two menus took us to a table by the window.
“Frank, this view is amazing.” I said as I looked out. We were right on the waterfront and the sun was just beginning to set.
“I know. It’s the best seat in the house. I’ve always wanted to sit here, but since I always come with the guys, the table isn’t big enough.”
“Can’t they just switch the tables?”
“No, we’ve asked. This is a romantic table only. Apparently.” He grumbled, shooting the waiter a pointed look. We were handed our menus and he took our drinks orders. We just got a large bottle of wine.
“What do you want?” asked Frank, looking up from his menu when the waiter came back with our wine and to take our orders.
“I’ll have the Carbanara. You?”
“The Hawaiian pizza.” The waiter took our orders and left.
“So, how did the band start?” I asked. He told me everything and we sat talking the whole time we were there.
“Do you want some coffee? I asked as we came out of the restaurant. “There’s a good café just along that road.” We walked there and sat down at a table. The waitress who came over stopped at our table and screamed.
“Oh. My God. You’re Frank Iero! Can I have your autograph?” he blushed and nodded sheepishly, taking the paper and pen she was holding. He wrote his name and handed her it back. We ordered coffee and I excused my self to go to the toilet.
When I got back the waitress was practically sitting on him. He had is back turned to me so I couldn’t see his face, but his ears were a dark shade of pink. The waitress didn’t see me either.
“I get off in like 5 minutes. Do you want to come back to mine?”
“Not really.” I grinned.
“Come on. It’ll be fun, I promise.” She giggled at her own lame joke.
“I cant I’m with someone. Sorry.”
“Who that skank sitting here?”
“Don’t talk about her like that! The only skanky person here is you. Domino is smart and funny and tough and beautiful and she dances like a fucking angel. So don’t you dare call her that when you aren’t even one of those things!” he shoved her off him and threw down a twenty. He stood up and spotted me.
“Domino! Did you, you didn’t hear, oh god.” He babbled. I just grinned. The skanky waitress glared at me and flounced off behind the bar. Frank’s face was a nice shade of scarlet. I decided to put him out of his misery. I walked over, kissed his cheek and led him outside.
“I didn’t mean for you to hear that. I wouldn’t have said it…God I’m so embarrassed!”
“Its okay. I like that you think those thing about me, and I know you were genuine because you didn’t know I was standing there. Besides, you’re not so hard on the eyes yourself, you make me laugh, I think you’re pretty smart, you didn’t take any of Bert’s shit yesterday, and I’ve never seen you dance.”
“Thanks.” We walked to the car and he drove us back to my house. I could tell the guys were still there because the My Chem van and Quinn’s car was still in the drive.
“That’s us. The guys are still here.” I said.
“Yeah. I don’t think my lot have left either.”
“You wanna come in for a while?”
“Yeah! I mean, sure.” I smiled and opened my front door. They were all sprawled out in my cinema room watching the beginning of Hellraiser.
“Hey guys. Having fun?” I asked, sitting myself down on Quinn’s lap while Frank pouted that Bert was curled up on Gerard’s and settled for Ray.
“You know that there are like six couches in this room right?” my roommate Andy said, lying down on one of the free couches.
“Yeah, we know. But people are more comfortable.” Bert said. She shook her head and continued to watch the film.
About halfway through, I needed a drink. I got up and asked if anyone wanted anything. About six people did, so Frank offered to help me carry them through. We got to the kitchen and poured the drinks.
“That everyone?” He asked.
“Yeah, I think so. Frank?”
“Yeah?”
“You didn’t kiss me at the end of our date.” I said, moving closer to him.
“That’s very true. I cant believe I never thought of it before.” He cupped my face with his hands and brought my lips to his. It was tender and gentle. He moved his hands from my face to my lower back and mines moved to his stomach.
We must have been there, with him leaning against the counter for a good few minutes just kissing, when he slowly moved his hands lower. I smiled into the kiss and he mumbled,
“You mind?” I shook my head and resumed kissing him. A couple of minutes after tongues were added to the mix, we were interrupted.
“Hey! Keep your hands to yourself!” Bert yelled.
“B! Do you mind?”
“Were getting thirsty, and his hands were on your ass!” I noticed. Frank, can you take this tray through while I talk to Bert?”
“Sure, I’ll see you in a minute.” He kissed my cheek and made his way back into the cinema room with the tray, being sure to give Bert a wide berth as he passed.
“What is your damage? I didn’t exactly mind him having his hands on my ass!”
“He had his tongue down your throat! Its just Frank has a little bit if a rep and I don’t want him using you.”
“He isn’t using me.” I told him about the waitress thing and he softened…slightly.
“Fine, I’ll let it go. For good this time. Just promise me you’ll be careful?”
“Always.” He wrapped his arm around my shoulders and we went back into the room. We watched the end of the movie, the two more. By the time we had finished the fourth, it was 4:23 in the morning. I had five bedrooms available, 4 spares, and mine and there were ten of us. I was still kind of mad at Bert so I opted to share with Quinn. Jeph and Brandon shared; Frank and Ray; Mikey and Bob; Gerard and Bert. We, Quinn and I, fell asleep at once. But the others…
