“I don’t know, I don’t know” Alicia sobbed, her eyes as red as blood.
“When did he go? When Alicia when?” Jess ordered
Alicia looked dazed and confused, she seemed to know more than she was letting on.
“I don’t know I don’t know ok?” Alicia screamed
“Emma did you hear anybody come in?” Jess questioned
“Ermmm… yeah at about 2am me and Frank where ermmm awake because… anyway I thought it was Gerard so I didn’t get up to question” She said
Jess didn’t have time to say anything else she ran and sat in the car waiting for Gerard to get in.
He ran in and jumped in the car hitting his head on the door.
Jess reversed and put her foot down the road she was racing down was 40mph
“Babe, slow down it’s a 40mph road and were travelling 80, if we get caught we could….”Gerard advised
“Gerard please if your giving me a lecture save it!” Jess snapped
The car was silent for another 20 minutes
“Gee, I’m sorry babe I didn’t mean to snap at you” Jess said
“I know, your worried well don’t be” Gerard said convincingly
He phoned Mikey again for about the 20th time.
This time it didn’t go to answering machine, it got picked up
“Mikey Mikey where are you bro?” Gerard asked putting his finger over Jess’s lips
“Im…Im at home in the attic on the balcony in the attic” Mikey sobbed
“Stay there, is Scarlet ok?” Gerard asked concerned about the safety of Scarlet.
“Im going to drop her, im going to drop her” Mikey shouted
They raced to Mikey’s house with Frank, Emma and Jamia in the car behind.
They had several police cars outside, loads of media and a lot of members of the public.
Jess ran to the police barriers and saw Mikey standing there crying holding her baby.
The thing she lives for, her baby.
Jess’s heart was beating, nearly as fast as a bird fleeing from a cat.
“Excuse me Madam, are you the mother of the baby?” the police man asked
“Yes, Yes I’m the mother” Jess replied still looking at Scarlet
“Come under the tape then” The man said
She darted under, she was shaking ever so much
“Mikey Mikey why do you have my baby?” Jess shouted
“Your going out with my brother, he is going to be the dad of my baby” Mikey said
Gerard and Alicia gasped
“Its un-natural for him to be the dad of his niece” He repeated several times
“Mikey, I love you even if you cheated on me” Alicia screamed
“Its my baby, I’m not having Gerard be her dad” Mikey Screamed
“Im going to do what I said I would” Mikey Whispered to himself
In a matter of seconds he dropped the baby, almost in slow motion Jess ran, ran as quick as she could to get to her baby.
It was too late, her little head slammed against the floor making the click on her spine hear able to what seemed like the whole world.
“My baby” Jess screamed
There was no life in the little body, she seemed dead, all Jess could see was blood coming out her ears.
The ambulance crew got there almost immediately.
4 Huge men grabbed the little baby and took her in the van, Jess was lying on the floor in tears.
While Mikey was getting put in the police van.
Gerard was with Jess, hugging her with his head on hers.
“My Baby” Jess sobbed
“Want to go in the ambulance with her” Gerard questioned
Jess nodded
He supported her fragile body to the Ambulance.
She sat on the edge of her sear holding Scarlet’s hand, Looking at her bundle of joy motionless on the bed.
Suddenly there was no sound on the machine next to her, the ambulance crew rushed to Scarlet.
The seemed to check her over for hours, trying to get her to breathe.
The men both looked at each other and nodded.
“My baby, she’s dead isn’t she?” Jess said cuddling Gerard.
