I stood in the bathroom for a good five minutes, staring at my reflection in one of the many mirrors that were lined up on the wall. I ignored the strange looks I got from a few girls that walked in and noticed my behavior. Wiping the sweat from the palms of my hands I walked out of the bathroom, "Took you long enough." I jumped when I heard Gerard's voice. He was sitting on a table across from the bathroom doors staring at me with a small grin on his face, "Thought I was going to have to come in there after you."
"Sorry, I felt a little sick there for a minute," I lied, hoping he wouldn't read right through the nervousness in my voice.
"Oh, I make you sick?" He joked, standing up and nodding for me to follow after him.
I walked behind him slowly, "No, I think it was what I ate." I blushed when I realized I had been staring at his ass the entire time. I tore my eyes away, hoping no one had noticed, just as we exited the cafeteria.
"Ah, likely story." I rolled my eyes at his response, laughing lightly. I moved to where I was beside him to avoid the temptation of staring at his ass again. He didn't seem to notice, but I wasn't taking any chances.
Neither of is said anything more until we reached the art building and he opened the door for me, "Ladies first." He followed right behind me, shutting the door after us.
"What did you want to talk to me about?" My heart was beating so fast it was beginning to make me dizzy. Part of me hoped I knew what this was about, but another part of me hoped I was wrong. I wasn't even sure how I would react, though I had a pretty good idea.
"Well, you don't have to make up your mind now, but you remember how I said I could arrange for you to get extra credit?" He asked, unlocking his classroom door and leading me inside.
I nodded, "Yeah, but I haven't even started on my regular work yet. Plus, I still haven't decided if I'm keeping the class." Yet another lie; I knew I wasn't going anywhere, but I didn't want him to know that.
He looked at me skeptically and nodded, "Yes, well I figured a good start couldn't hurt anything." He shut the door behind me and then headed towards his desk, making sure to brush against me as he went.
I followed him, "You might want to explain what this extra credit is before you expect me to agree to anything." The statement came out half defensive sounding, even though I hadn't meant for it to.
Gerard laughed a little, "I just wanted to ask if you wanted to volunteer to do something for me," he said, "Every year the local colleges do this thing where the professors compete in some cheesy project. The winning school gets money. I'm not sure how much really. It's not much, but as you can tell we can use all the money that we can get."
"What do I have to do with that? I mean, you said it's for the professors..." He had confused me by this point.
Again, he laughed at me, "I was going to ask if I could...do a portrait of you," he said, running his hand through his hair as if he were nervous. I raised an eyebrow at him, but couldn't help the smile that spread across my face.
"You want to draw me?" I asked, trying not to giggle. I don't know why it made me feel so giddy, but the thought of it was kind of a turn-on. Call me weird.
Gerard nodded, smirking at me, "Only if you don't mind. The thing is though, it'll have to be done after all my classes are over, which isn't until five, so you'll have to sacrifice your time."
"I don't mind," I answered. Thinking about being alone with him for an extended period of time, I had completely forgotten about all my doubts about the class.
"Are you sure? I don't know how long this is going to take me. You might end up spending a great deal of time with me. You don't have to make up your mind just yet," He said, standing up.
His movement caught me off guard, "Um, yeah. I'm sure. I mean, as long as I'm not busy, that is..." I looked back towards the door, checking to see if anyone was standing outside. I was feeling a little paranoid with the way Gerard's eyes were scanning my figure.
"Well, what are you doing tomorrow at, say...six o'clock?" He moved in front of me. When I felt his breath on my face I thought about the dream I'd had, and about how similar it was to reality at the moment. We were standing in nearly the exact same spot, only I wasn't wearing a nightgown and we weren't making out. I started to feel a little light-headed with all the thoughts going through my mind. I wondered if he was thinking the same thing.
"Blair?" His voice held a hint of amusement, "Did you hear me?" I mentally kicked myself for being so obvious.
I shook my head to clear my thoughts, "Yeah, sorry. I'm kind of tired," I lied, "but that sounds good. I'll have a definite answer for you tomorrow when I get to class."
He nodded, "Make sure you don't blurt it out in front of anyone. Wouldn't want anyone getting any funny ideas." He grinned, "Don't want to give you a reputation."
"I doubt anyone would think that," I replied, blushing. "But I should be going now, I'm probably already late for my next class."
Gerard nodded, "I'll see you tomorrow then."
Nodding, I turned around and headed for the door, noticing a woman standing outside. I walked out, feeling a bit awkward as the woman gave me a cold glare. She didn't look like a college student, nor did I recognize her as one of the professors around the campus.
"Hi." I said, just to be polite.
Giving me a obviously forced smile, she nodded, "Hello." I smiled quickly before heading out of the building, still wondering who she was.
