The song "I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing" is by Aerosmith and others. And just so you know, Aang's about 15 in this, which would make Katara 17.

I do not own Avatar or the song. I dont even own a cardboard box, which makes me wanna cry.

-START-STORY-

Aang and Katara were on the side of the dancefloor. Over the 6 years of no war, Aang had easily grown taller than her by about an inch. yet he still had that childish charm in him. Katara was waiting for a certain song, while Aang wanted to just go out and dance to anything. it was getting quite fustrating.

"Please, Katara? Just one?"

"Wait, the song is coming up, i know it!"

As if on cue, the band started to play a slow song which Aang recognised instantly.

"Let's dance" said Katara, getting on her feet and leading Aang onto the dancefloor.

I could stay awake just to hear you breathing,
Watch you smile while you are sleeping
While you're far away, dreaming

They started to dance. Aang's feet followed Katara's perfectly, despite never dancing slow before. His right hand firmly on her hip and his left in her hand, he lead the dance.

Aang's heartbeat sped up as the steps got a little wider, but he held on. He would do anything for this beautiful girl he was dancing with. Anything.

She looked up into his grey eyes, a tear of happiness trailing down her cheek. She knew Aang did this sometimes (because Toph told her) and she thought this song suited him perfectly.

Sokka looked up from the buffet to see his sister and the avatar dancing. He thought it looked liked Aang was getting ready to kiss his sister. But he forgot about it when he smelt more shrimp going on the buffet.

Aang looked down at Katara and wiped away her tear with a slim, yet stong, finger. He looked into her eyes and knew it was time. They leaned in closer, and closer...

They parted at the end. They both looked quite flushed. Aang bent down to Katara's ear and whispered the rest of the words to her. This was her secret fantasy. How did he know?
