Over all, I don't like the way you've written this story thus far. It feels like it's gonna be a bad Pokegirl ripoff. But this chapter made me giggle in a place or two. Not the insane-slut-Luna cliche, but the mocking of Umbridge, and Moody threatening the idiot slaver was amusing.Author's response
Well, my style is my style--I'm afraid that doesn't change overmuch.
I have very little notion as to what a Pokegirl ripoff would look like. Harry certainly isn't going to be using Fleur, Hermione, and Luna as weapons, if that's what you mean.
Luna is not an insane slut. She's a very unusual girl, for reasons which have little to do with the DSMV, who has met her loved ones rather early in life. Her feelings, at this point in her life, have little to do with sexuality and much more to do with the fact that she has decided she is a pet, this being the best way to remain close to those she loves, and has a particular notion of what being a pet entails.
I'm glad you liked the treatment of Umbridge and Harkness.
Thanks for reviewing!Harry's New Pets

A good, original and humerous story so far... though I must admit a part of me would've liked a (much) higer rating.
I must say I'm curious about what happens next; can't imagine that the Delacors and the Grangers will be very positive to their daughters becomming some boy's pet. Will there be some binding magic involved -- or will they stay out of loyalty?
I'm also curious about which school they will be going to, and if the pets will be allowed to stay the night in Harry's room/bed (not to mention, if Luna manages to convince them about the clothes thing)?
Keep up the good work, and update soon.
Author's response
Thank you!
As far as higher ratings go, well, they're young. It will be a few years before things go all that far.
The Grangers will need some convincing, but the Delacours, well, they're part Veela (Fleur's actually slightly more than one quarter Veela, as Gérard has a Veela great-great-great-great grandmother) and are a bit more understanding about these things. Binding magic is already involved, you see.
I've not decided which school, actually, but they will be spending their nights together. Luna, well, she's never going to convince everyone about the clothes thing on a full time basis. I'm not even sure she altogether _wants_ to. But in private... well, to some degree.
I hope to update in the not-too-distant future. Hopefully with a full-length chapter. We'll see.Harry's New Pets

Hey I love your story and all but wasnt that kinda of short!?! also even when they find the girls, it would be amusing if they always consider themselves to be the pets/slaves of harry/master....Author's response
Thank you!
Yes, this chapter was a little short. I felt it necessary to quash certain speculations immediately.
It's pets, and most definitely not slaves, as Luna said. And yes, promises have been made which will keep them together.Harry's New Pets

I seem to like the story a bit more than the other reviewers. I'm interested to see where you take itAuthor's response
Thank you very much!
To be honest, I'm sort of feeling my way through this. It's a little outside of the type of thing I usually write.
I hope I can keep it interesting.Harry's New Pets

Now that the villian has been caught I wonder how the adults will deal with how devoted the girls are to Harry!
Should be a fun chapter, oh and will we see a certain frog ends up in a cage too?
Maybe she ends up in a south Pacific island full of cannibals, magicals I'm sure!
;-)Author's response
Thank you!

Not to mention how devoted Harry is to the girls. M. Delacour, I think, will be surprisingly sympathetic. The others... well, they'll have to come round, eventually. But this part is going to be tricky to write.
will we see a certain frog ends up in a cage too?
Something like that, I think. ;-)
Maybe she ends up in a south Pacific island full of cannibals, magicals I'm sure!
That's an interesting thought. Thanks! I don't think I'll use it, but the image is lovely. ;-)Harry's New Pets

Heh excellent work. Bit of a shame not to see so much of Harry and the girls in this chapter, but it was still enjoyable enough. Can't wait to see how Hogwarts works out for them.
Looking forward to more.Author's response
Thank you!
Next chapter will have more of Harry and the girls. I'm having a little trouble working out how they get round the issue of passports for the crossing to France--Fleur's Veela powers don't strike me as being quite enough, although I may have to work with that in the end.
Can't wait to see how Hogwarts works out for them.
They may be going to Beauxbatons. I'm not sure yet.
Looking forward to more.
Very glad to hear that!Harry's New Pets

That was great, And i'm a little surprised that the girls well Hermione really is starting to enjoy being a pet. And as for the girls parents the Grangers seem to be the only ones that are going to have a problem with the situation. Hermione could just go home with her parents while fleurs' father sets Harry up with a reusable portkey to Hermiones house so he can see her everyday, Maybe even help Harry become more informed about what he has like money property and things like that after all Harry is now responsable for his daughter and helping Harry helps her.Author's response
Thank you!!
Well, Hermione is... perhaps not starting to enjoy being a pet as much as she's got very attached to Fleur and Harry and Luna. And the pet thing seems to be a part of being with them, so she's not as exercised about it as she might be if she were seeing it from the outside.
And as for the girls parents the Grangers seem to be the only ones that are going to have a problem with the situation.
Pretty much, yes. But... M. Delacour can actually be very persuasive, and not only in the spell-and-stiletto sense.
Hermione could just go home with her parents while fleurs' father sets Harry up with a reusable portkey to Hermiones house so he can see her everyday
That's a thought, although... they really aren't going to sleep well apart from each other, at least not for a few years.
Maybe even help Harry become more informed about what he has like money property and things like that after all Harry is now responsable for his daughter and helping Harry helps her.
He will be doing that, yes. Harry's committed to his daughter, and he appreciates that. The father of a part-Veela tends to be more understanding of Veela mating practices--he'll see Harry as a lad going down the same path as himself, rather than the jerk who's running around with his daughter. After all, if he'd met Apolline when he was eleven or twelve, and circumstances had required him to take responsibility for her, something similar might have happened.Harry's New Pets

A very cute story. Harkness should be nailed to a wall and left to rot!
I'm wondering what reaction the Grangers would have? Since I'm rather paranoid about my daughter's safety, if she vanished from a beach (or anywhere else, for that matter)I'd be hounding the police until she turns up.
Honestly, I'd have to say with Fleur leading the pack, they are actually safer than if she'd not been there. Luna's decision to become a petis well in line with her character.(I love writing Luna, she's so much fun!) and Xeno's agreement to sell her is, I suppose, in his. (Not much in canon about him)
I loved Luna's 'I'm a poor little lost French girl' act. That girl could be very dangerous given the proper motivation.
And enter the assassin. Msr. De la Cour, Is reacting precisely as I would. I'd say Umbridge had best be dancing rather quickly unless she wants to end up as an 'accident'. God, I hate that bitch! I would have to say, in this one instance, JKR created the perfect character. She is the epitome of bureaucratic evil.
BTW The BHP is an American gun. He'd be better off with a Sig, or Beretta.
McGonagall on the warpath is nothing to be trifled with. If Harkness thinks he can sweet-talk her. He is sadly mistaken. The one point I have to disagree with is her mentioning Hagrid by name. Unless she's willing to take Harkness out of the picture...permanently, Hagrid's reputation is ruined. (I saw you, would serve as well.)
De La Cour and Mad-Eye together are a dangerous combination, at the very best.
I cannot wait to see what kind of trouble they get into next.
I have placed this most interesting, ridiculous, and hilarious fic on my alerts list and hope too read more soon.

Thank you very much!
That's pretty much my opinion on Harkness, also. I'm not yet certain what's going to happen to him, finally, but I'm certain that one of his much more honest relations will be taking over his business and selling nothing but cats, rats, owls, etc.
I'm wondering what reaction the Grangers would have?
They're desperately worried, as you said. Minerva's going to go talk with them, as soon as she realises Hermione was the "Selkie girl" in question, and M. Delacour will meet them a bit later. He'll be able to explain things to them, about their daughter and his and all the rest.
Honestly, I'd have to say with Fleur leading the pack, they are actually safer than if she'd not been there.
Absolutely. Fleur may be submissive to Harry at times in the future, but in a situation like this she's in charge. And none better.
I love writing Luna, also, in case you'd not guessed. ;-) I think that Xeno knows what her mother was like, and knows that if he doesn't sell her she'll only be trying to owl-post herself to Harry as a present.
The "poor little lost French girl" act is one of Fleur's most formidible attacks, yes. She learnt a lot from watching her father. I feel a bit sorry for Mr. Gruntleigh--he's really not _such_ a bad sort, and when the Veela allure wears of he's going to realise that the Galleons aren't some mysterious sort of foreign sovereign-sized gold coin, but weird alloy tokens with about as much gold in them as a Canadian loonie. I suspect M. Delacour will do something to make it up to him.
And enter the assassin. Msr. De la Cour, Is reacting precisely as I would.
Thanks! I've no kids, so I was sort of concerned if I'd get M. Delcour's reactions right.
BTW The BHP is an American gun. He'd be better off with a Sig, or Beretta.
It's funny, actually. I was using the BHP as a placeholder until I could look up the appropriate French sidearm, but then I found out that it was actually designed by John Moses Browning for Fabrique Nationale in Belgium. It was never actually French issue, but it sounded better than the Mle. 1935 (chambered for some 7.65mm round) or Mle. 1950 (9 round magazine), so I wound up sticking with it. M. Delacour thinks of it as a Browning Grande Puissance, of course. ;-)
The one point I have to disagree with is her mentioning Hagrid by name. Unless she's willing to take Harkness out of the picture...permanently, Hagrid's reputation is ruined. (I saw you, would serve as well.)
I have to admit that you're probably right. In a sense, Minerva herself has condemned Harkness by not thinking things through. (Although, of course, Hagrid has already bought the girls from Harkness, so he's got some exposure from the beginning.)
I'm not sure what's going to happen to Harkness, yet, but it's a difficult situation. He has it coming, but whatever it is will be perilously close to vigilante justice.
De La Cour and Mad-Eye together are a dangerous combination, at the very best.
Oh, bother, I clicked the button before I was finished.
Any road, Moody and Delacour have worked together before. And yes, they're very tough hombres.
Thanks again, and I hope to post more up soon!
