chapter one



"Watch out!" Shouted Atlanta, as one of the Giants threw a boulder the size of Herry's truck at the eight hero's.

Scattering they narrowly avoided being turned into pancakes.

Tripping over himself trying to miss the boulder Neil landed in a muddy puddle, screaming he examined his ruined shirt and shouted.

"I hate this hero stuff!"

Ignoreing their dirty friend the other seven took there fight stance.They had followed Cronus to his secret lair this had been surpriseingly more simple than

they had imagined, during their last confruntation Odie had managed to attach a tracking divise onto one of Cronus' Giant's, so that when he teleported

himself and them to his hideout they could follow. Cronus realised of course and destroyed the divise but not before the hero's could get a fixed location on

Cronus, but finding Odie's tracker gave Cronus time to prepare for the teen's arrival, as soon as they entered the hideout they were met by seven giants.

Cronus' lair was an ancient underground cave on a small island to the south of Greece, with rock formations and greeceian artifacts the cave was hazardous to

the hero's with manny objects for the giants to launch.

Jay,Atlanta,Herry, Archie, Theresa, Odie, Danny and (haveing picked himself up off the floor.) Neil all lined up the last seven preparing to take on a giant

each, Jay takeing Cronus.

"On my mark." Said Jay as the hero's readied their wepons.

"Three." He said, the giants flexed their knuckles.

"Two." Cronus grinned as the eight waited.

"One." The leader called and they all ran forward.

" Stop them!" Cronus ordered his Giants " This no longer amuses me."

Singleing out their giant the hero's fought, heading for Cronus Jay swung his Xiphos at the giant that got in his way, the giant swung for Jay but hit Archie

insted sending him flying into Atlanta. As Odie rushed to help his fallen team mates the seven giants advanced on the five remaining heros.

Neil ducking to avoid one giants fists was createing the perfect distraction, realiseing this Danny used her spear as a pole vault and aimed to kick Neil's

giant in the face, unfortunetly this didnt work, another giant (Agnon.) grabed the spear when Danny was in mid jump and flung her high into the air.

"I got you." Herry called as he ran to catch her, this didnt work eighther and insted of herry catching Danny, Danny knocked Herry to the ground.

Theresa and Jay were working together to defeat their giants, Theresa holding the giants attention with her nunchucks while Jay hit them behined the knee

with his Xiphos. This worked well until five of the giants surounded the two laughing stupidly the giants closed in, just as one raised its huge mishapen

fist and it seemed to be all over a pair of steel bolas swung around the giants legs grunting he fell over into his neibour.

Blue lazer beams from Odie's PMR shot at the toes of the next giant causing him to dance around trying to avoid them, so he didnt notice the hulking form of

Herry running towards him and takle him to the ground.

At the same time Jay and Theresa grounded the next giant. The fith giant watching all of this took off not wanting the same treatment, but he wasnt so lucky

as the Hephaestus whip wraped around him, held by not only Archie but Danny, Neil and Atlanta, he was pulled to the ground by the four of them.

"Yeah thats right, dont mess with the best." Said Neil as the beaten giants and the two others who had been watching ran from the cave. Watching this Cronus

was not pleased.

"Incompatant bafoons!" Yelled Cronus shakeing his fist at his frightend henchmen.

When he noticed the hero's running towards him, he opened a portal and parted with the words.

"Another time Jay, hum hum or not." and was gone.

But the eight had more imediate problems, the roof of the cave was starting to collaps. Odie who had claustraphobia
issues was the first to notice this.

"Errr guys, I think we should get out of here." He said pointing to the roof. "Before we end up here perminently."

"Agreed, now lets balt." Said Neil already heading towards the exit. The hero's ran for the exit, makeing it out just before the whole place clapsed.

Panting the hero's fell to the floor. Clutching his knees Archie said.

"Well that didnt go well." The others just looked at him, Archie had just said out loud the very thing they had all been trying to keep out of their heads,

back there, Cronus had almost beat them.

Back at the dorm the hero's headed to bed, misrable that Cronus had got away and disgusing how the giants seemed to be getting tougher. Soon everyone was

upstairs exsept for one of the teens.

Danny, the newest member of the team. Her full name was Danniel Suzannah Nightingale, she had layered chocolat brown hair cut to above her shoulders and

emerald green eyes, she was short and slim with greek family roots. Nothing specail in her opinion, at least thats what she had thought. When she was brought

here a few months ago Danny had a hard time beliveing when Hera told her she was a disendant of a greek hero and one of the eight chosent teenagers whos

purpose was to save the world from the evil,power hungery God of time. But I suppose anyone would find that hard to belive.

Brought up in a small town in northan England Danny had been taught to be scheptical, trusting came hard to her, after all the hardships she had endured back

home (struggleing to get by as her mum was a single mother of three.) Danny wasnt sure at first whether or not to belive, espesialy since the Gods "Didnt

know" which greek hero she was related to, to danny that ment they didnt want to tell her. so it must be bad.

It had taken a while for the others to warm to her, her arriveing just in time to help them defeat the minotaurs hiding in New Olympia's underground, for a

long time she had felt like the new girl. But things were better now and she didnt want to tell them anything which might make them change their minds about

her. Not wanting to go to bed Danny curled up in the arm chair and let her mind wonder.

She didnt like where it went, shakeing her head she scolded herself, she wasnt alowed to think of him, not after what happened.

"You Ok?" said Herry standing in the doorway looking at Danny a big comforting smile on his face.

"Im fine, just thinking about something." Danny was a dreamer so Herry didnt press any further.

He came and sat in the chair next door to hers and they started to talk, about everything and anything, this always happened, Herry was the person here that

Danny felt most comfortable around and they had grown close over the past few months. Eventuly Herry fell to sleep and Danny smiled, she liked Herry alot,

not that she'd ever admit it. At 16 she knew there were somethings you just didnt do.
