The next morning Bob, Madison and John packed as they were all heading to America. They were meeting Kelsey at the airport in East Hampton. Bob slept the whole ride while John and Madison snuggled together on a seat. John couldn’t help but notice Madison staring at Bob every so often.

Finally they landed, and when they walked out there stood Kelsey. She had her long blonde hair in a pulled back in a ponytail, she wore a white button down no sleeve shirt, tan chinos and white tennis shoes she had a deep blues sweater tied at the collar, looking like the typical preppy.

Kelsey gave Madison a huge hug as well as Bob.

“So how are you doing?” Kelsey asked her friend.

“Good, I want you to meet John Mitchell. John this is my best friend Kelsey Skakel.”

John stuck out his hand, “Very glad to meet you. Madison never told me she had such a beautiful friend.”

“He’s such a charmer Madison.”

The four of them made it out to the waiting limo. “I took the liberty of hiring an old friend to drive us, someone who could be trusted.”

As they got in the limo the driver turned around. “Verne!!” shouted Madison. She made her way to the window and gave him a hug.

“Hey Bob how you doing?” asked the driver.

“I’ve been better, how bout you?”

“Me and wife just got back from a second honeymoon.”

“Where’d you go?” asked Madison.

“Tahiti, absolutely beautiful. It was great getting away just the two of us.”

“I’m sure it was.”

“The missus is starting to get sick of me with all the time I spend at home.”

“Once all this is over with I’m sure I’ll keep you plenty busy.”

“Thanks Maddie, I really miss your dad.”

“So do I,” Madison said sadly. She felt and arm wrapping around her and pulling her to his chest. That oh so familiar and comforting chest. It was Bob’s.

Kelsey couldn’t help but notice and neither could John. Kelsey just gave John a half smile.

Verne drove up to a gated wall and the gates opened and they drove through the expansive front yard. The grass was perfectly trimmed as were all the bushes and trees. The ivy growing on the walls enclosing the front of the property was looked beautiful instead of just a boring brick wall.

“Before I go in I want to warn you I have a few guests staying with me.”

Bob and Madison just looked at each other all worried.

“Don’t worry they know that they need to keep you being here a secret.”

“So do I know these people?” asked Madison. She hoped not because most people she knew would love to turn her in just to take her down a notch, and have good gossip.

“I think so.”

“Kelsey, maybe we better find somewhere else to stay.”

“Nonsense. You’re here.”

The limo pulled in front of the house and Verne came around and opened the passenger door on the same side of the house. Kelsey and John stepped out first and then Bob, who out of instinct helped Madison out. When Madison got out she gave Verne a proper hug.

As they walked in there was ten figures standing in front of the stairs in the very large foyer.

Bob’s eyes went down the row of figures, Elisabeth, Derek, Mikey, Alicia, Gerard, Lyn-Z, Frank, Jamia, Krista and lastly Ray who was holding a blonde hair blue eyed seven month old.

“On our way back from Katelyn’s we made a stop over in Chicago. So we decided to pick you up a little something,” smiled Ray.

Bobby held out his arms when Bob came closer and said “Bah”

Frank made his little I’m not sure face, “I think it means Bob. At least that’s what we were trying to teach him on the way from Chicago to here.”

Elisabeth, Derek, Kelsey, John and Madison left the group to have their reunion as she left she gave one last look at Bob and smiled.

“So who’s the guy?” asked Gerard.

“John.”

“John as in the British dude?” asked Mikey.

“Yeah.”

“Wasn’t the plan to break them up and you and her start seeing each other again,” said Frank.

“Plans changed Frank. She was so happy when they got back from Japan and I knew I could only cause her heartache.”

“Why’s that?” asked Ray.

Bob was playing with Bobby and his favorite toy. “Because I’m wanted for murder and rape, and any second now the cops could come crashing through that door and take me away.”

“She’s wanted too, as an accessory,” said Ray.

“What?”

“You two are just a modern day Bonnie and Clyde,” said Alicia.

“Does she know?”

“Don’t know bro,” said Mikey.

In the kitchen

“John I’d like you to meet my sister Elisabeth and her boyfriend Derek.”

“John is your sister’s boyfriend,” said Kelsey.

Elisabeth and Derek just looked at each other they were hoping that somehow Madison and Bob would work it all out.

“I fixed two rooms for you but you guys can work out the logistics if you need less,” said Kelsey. “Oh and another thing, I’m throwing a birthday party for you.”

“This is supposed to be low profile, Kelse.”

“I know and I didn’t invite anyone who would say anything. Plus I thought you might like to know. Adam’s coming.”

Madison remembered her last time seeing Adam, he told her that he loved her and she told him they could never be more than friends.

“Who’s Adam?” asked John.

“Just someone I dated and have become very good friends with.”

“Should I be worried?”

“Nah,” she smiled at him.

It was then they heard Bobby crying, Bob went into the kitchen holding the wailing baby.

Inside the refrigerator was an eight ounce bottle. Bob grabbed it with one hand and threw it in the microwave for ten seconds.

“I thought you weren’t supposed to microwave that?” asked Lizzie.

“I only do it for a few seconds and shake it up afterwards if you want to keep hearing Bobby cry I can do it the old fashion way.”

The timer went off and Bob took the bottle out of the microwave shook it then tested it making sure it wasn’t too hot.

“Can I feed him?” asked Madison. Remembering the last time she did a few weeks ago.

“Sure.” Bob passed his cousin to Madison and then started giving her the proper instructions on how to feed him. Without even noticing he soon had his arms around her and overwhelmed by how much he loved seeing her like this he kissed the top of her head. She turned around and looked into his eyes and he stared back then he finally spoke, “I love you.”

Tears were streaming down her eyes as she replied, “I love you too.”

He took Bobby from her and gave him to Ray as everyone came in, then took her into his arms and kissed her leaving all abandonment aside. When they finally broke he spoke,

“I’m never going to let you go again.”

How ironic the one thing that she was sure kept them apart had brought them together.
