Chapter Thirty One - Goodbye

Bob wearily opened his eyes and rolled over to find the bed empty. He reached out his arm and gently touched the still indented sheet to find it warm. Knowing he had to get up, he rolled on to his stomach and breathed in her scent before he pushed himself off the bed and on to his feet. He caught the sound of the shower and noticed the door of the bedroom was ajar. Bob cautiously followed the sound, aware of the great possibility of someone else being in the flat. Half expecting the door to be locked, he surprised himself when it opened to his touch. He paused for a moment as he heard a soft voice humming away. These were the moments he would remember, just Jill being herself. Bob hesitated for a moment as he considered whether to go in. He just wanted to hold her but he also didn't want her to think he was some kind of obsessed nympho.

"Jill?" he gently called out not wanting to startle her. He couldn't help but smile as he walked further in to the room to see her dancing and signing away to herself. He couldn't work out exactly what she was singing.

Jill seemed to sense someone as she stopped and wiped the soap away from her eyes, "How long have you been there?" she asked nervously.

"I just came in," Bob answered noticing her hiding herself behind the shower curtain. This in turn made him nervous as he stood there naked.

"You needing something," Jill asked.

"Just a hug," Bob replied knowing it sounded pathetic.

"Come on then you big softy," Jill said beckoning him towards her.

Jill laughed out loud as Bob slipped on the soapy surface of the bath and grabbed on to her, "You alright?" she asked between giggles.

"How much soap do you need?" Bob asked regaining his footing and his composure.

"I can't help that I like bubbles," Jil replied splatting him on the chest with bubbles from the side of the bath. She watched as the water from the shower just washed them away.

"I don't want to go," Bob muttered.

The playful gestures stopped as Jill absorbed his words.

"I don't want you to go away either," Jill replied slipping her arms around him and resting her head on his wet chest as the water ran over them both. She picked her head up and looked at him, "But just think how good it will be when you come back."

"So you want me to come back?" Bob teasingly asked.

"Only if it's not too much of an inconvenience and as long as I wasn't doing anything important like washing my hair, "Jill replied.

"Ha,ha," Bob mocked, "I just wish I could tell you for definate but I'm not sure of the schedule."

"Hey don't worry, "Jill said as she gently touched the side of his face, "Don't you be worrying about trying to fit me in, you've got so much going on and I understand that."

Bob nodded, "You could come and visit when we're on tour,"

"That's be cool, let me check tomorrow what my editor has lined up for me and I'll let you know when I'm free," Jill said before adding, "We better get a move on, you don't want to miss your flight."

"That'd be tragic," Bob laughed without moving.

"Come on," Jill almost ordered trying to pull away from him much to Bob's amusement, "Bob I've got to get stuff done before you go."

"What kind of stuff?" Bob asked.

"Like find you some clean clothes," Jill laughed.

"I'll just chuck what I have with me," Bob responded as he gently pushed her hair away from her face.

"You can't do that," Jill replied pulling a face, "They're a bit smelly."

"If you think I'm bad, you should smell Gerard at times, "Bob laughed, "Mind you he's not as bad as he used to be."

Jill let her head fall back on him, she could have stayed like that for ages if it wasn't for her skin starting to resemble a prune and the need to get to the airport. She was really pleased with herself, she had promised that she would be strong and not let Bob see her upset. Jill had hardly slept last night as she constantly thought about him leaving. It scared her how much she would miss him although in reality she had only known him for such a short time.

"Don't doze off on me," Bob said gently.

"I'm just thinking," Jill replied,"and you're so comfy."

"Comfy?" Bob asked, "That's just what I want to hear."

Jill rolled her eyes at him, "I forgot to add cheeky and oh so sexy,"

"Keep going," Bob replied grinning.

"And hot, oh yes so very hot," Jill almost whispered before she felt him against her, "Did I forget to also add hard, oh my,"

Bob looked at her in shock as the words came out of her mouth and he couldn't help but grin back as the cheekiest smile appeared on her face.

Jill watched him as she moved her hand down over his tummy and gently encircle her fingers softly around him. She leaned down and picked up the bottle, squeezing a large amount of the soapy liquid into her hand. Removing her other hand from him, Jill rubbed them together and slowly ran her hands over his chest and down his arms. Bob closed his eyes as her hands encircled around his chest and over his back. He could feel himself becoming rigid as her hands continued to the small of his back and over his bottom. He groaned as he felt the closeness of her against him. He tried to reach out for something to hold on to as her hands moved to his sensitive area before travelling down his legs. He breathed in hard as she ran her fingers up the inside of his leg. He opened his eyes as she moved away from him to grab another bottle.

"Shampoo? may aswell since you're here." Jill replied smirking, "But you'll need to get on your knees so I can reach."

Bob instantly dropped to his knees, her instruction only turning him on more as she stretched back to put the bottle back down. The sight of the water running down her body and his ever quickening heart rate as she touched his head made him want to pull her down. She was driving him crazy without even knowing it. Jill removed the shower from the stand and rinsed off the shampoo and the excess soap from his body. Turning the shower off, she looked down at him, "this reminds me of the night in the hotel."

Bob pushed himself up, "That was a good night,"

Jill nodded as she grabbed a towel and threw it at him, "Oh well, we better hurry up." She said as she quickly dried herself off and jumped out the bath. Bob started to dry himself off and he gingerly stepped out of the bath. He felt so frustrated at the sudden loss of contact but he knew she was right, they did need to get ready to leave. However he still had a slightly embarrasing problem that needed relieved before he could leave the room. He watched as Jill started to dry up the bathroom and the sight of her on all fours with a towel wrapped round her really wasn't helping him at all.

"You okay?" she asked finally looking at him as he turned away.

"Yeah, I'm just going to em brush my teeth and stuff." Bob replied fixing his own towel around his waist.

Jill stood up feeling really bad that she had left him like that, "You need a little help?" she asked hesitantly not wanting to embarrass him. When he didn't answer she moved towards him and pressed herself against his back.

"Jill, you don't have t....," he tried to say before releasing a deep breath as he felt his towel drop to the floor.

He turned round to face her and she looked at him in that way, her eyes so serious, her lips slightly parted and her chest beating so hard. He gently stroked her face and Jill closed her eyes as she felt him immediately narrow the space between him. He kissed her hard, sighing as he heard Jill moan. Jill knew she couldn't resist him, he made her feel so good and she lifted her leg against his thigh wanting to be as close to him as possible.

"The bed?" Bob muttered gasping for breath as they continued to caress each other.

Jill shook her head knowing neither of them would make it that far. Jill looked towards the toilet and he followed her glance.

"Noo, not there," Bob replied.

Jill moved away from him and smiled wickedly before she backed herself towards the door.

"Jill, baby where are you going?" Bob asked desperately.

Jill looked up at him, "You can decide where you want me then, but you'll have to catch me first."

Bob looked at her with a mixture of excitement and pain, he didn't know if he would be able to walk never mind run. "I can't,"

Jill dropped her towel, "You sure?" she asked biting her lip and playfully running her hand over her breasts.

"Fuuuucccckkk, you're gonna kill me." Bob groaned moving towards her as she opened the door.

Jill laughed as Bob almost immediately caught her. She felt herself falling down as he dragged her down to the ground just a few feet from their bedroom door.

"On the floor," Jill gasped as he covered her body and kissed her neck.

"I caught you, I want you," Bob replied before kissing her again, "Right here, right now." He added easing himself between her thighs. Jill rolled her head as he entered her, so gently at first but the tension and teasing had made them both so desperate. Jill wrapped her legs around him wanting to increase the friction as they moved increasingly faster together.

"Bob," Jill almost yelped as she felt the feeling intensify.

Bob kissed her as she started to come, her mouth dropping open against his as she closed her eyes and let his name fall breathlessly from her lips. The sight of her and the sound of his name was all he needed as he released himself within her warmth. He let himself fall at her side as they both looked at each other smiling.

Bob lifted her and gently carried her back to the bed, as he lay down he smiled as she pushed herself as close to him as possible. He kissed her once more as they both just looked at each other and tried to catch their breath. Bob sighed as his mobile started to ring and he reluctantly pulled away from Jill.

"Have you been running?" Brian asked on hearing Bob's strained hello.

"No," Bob immediately responded.

"Anyway," Brian slightly laughed, "I'm phoning to let you know the car will be with you at 11."

"I thought I had to be there for 11 to make check in," Bob asked.

"No, it's only a tour hour check in for european flights." Brian answered.

Bob sat there for a moment before adding, "Hey Brian, I'm bringing Jill with me to the airport, can you make sure she gets a lift home."

"Already done, I kind of assumed you would be wanting this," Brian replied quite pleased withi himself.

"Thanks Brian,"

"And Bob," Brian said.

"Yep."

"Please make sure you get on this flight," Brian said grinning to himself.

Bob laughed,"I will and I'll even text you to let you know that I arrived in Germany."

"Okay, see you later." Brian said finishing the call.

Bob shut his phone and checked the time, "Well I have 2 hours before I have to leave, " he said lying back down beside Jill.

"Do you want some breakfast?" Jill asked placing her hand on his chest.

Bob nodded his head as he lifted her arm and kissed her hand. She pushed herself up and kissed him gently on the lips before sliding out of the bed. Bob looked at the floor for his clothes to find out they were no longer there, "Where are my clothes?"

"I hid them so you have to stay here forever, " Jill replied as she pulled out some fresh clothes and started to put them on, "I couldn't sleep last night so I put them on the airer in the kitchen and sprayed them to death with febreze."

"You didn't need to do that, "Bob said warmly, loving how she took care of him.

"I did, if I hadn't there was a real threat that those clothes would have walked out of here in their own." Jill laughed as she weaved her belt through the top of her black skinny jeans.

"So I'm going to smell like a girl," Bob said pretending to sulk.

"No honey, you're going to smell clean, "Jill replied pulling her dark green stripey hoodie over her head, "Right you better be moving."

Bob watched as Jill started to pull the pillowcases off the pillow before battling to pull the duvet cover from him. Giving up the battle, he walked into the kitchen in search of his clothes. Noticing the airer he moved towards it and started to pull the clothes off it, Jill had been right they did smell much better. The last few days he had spent with Jill had been better than he could ever have imagined. He loved spending time with her and she had in such a short space of time become part of him. He zipped up his hoodie as he watched her come through to the kitchen with a huge pile of laundry.

"You got all your stuff together then?" Jill asked as she swtiched on the washing machine.

"Just got to grab my phone and I'm all set." Bob replied.

"Oh," Jill said becoming distracted by the need to sort him some kind of breakfast.

Bob knew she was getting upset and it hurt him to know he was the cause of any pain, he instantly moved towards her, "You okay?"

Jill looked up at him, "Who me? Of course I am."

They sat eating breakfast and chatted about random stuff, both carefully avoiding the inevitable lack of time that they had with each other. The realisation only finally sinking in when Bob's phone rang to let him know the car was waiting downstairs.

"I suppose we better go, that's the car downstairs," Bob said as he closed the phone.

"Okay, I'll just grab my stuff," Jill replied, "You sure it is okay for me to be taken back to my own flat after?"

"No problem, "Bob replied watching her scribbling something, "What you doing?"

"Just leaving a wee note for Ruth so she's knows I'm going home." Jill replied as she fixed it to the fridge.

Bob helped her to make the kitchen look presentable and they both scrambled down the stairs to the waiting car.

"Hi guys, "

"Hey," Bob replied as he instantly recognised the driver and the security guy from their UK tour, "Sorry Andy about the additional job for you."

"No problem, in fact you saved me from having to go to a truly crap job this afternoon." Andy replied.

Bob pulled Jill as close to him as he could and they both said nothing as the car sped towards Heathrow airport. The traffic was always a nightmare and despite it being a Sunday they still had to queue for a while before managing to get parked up. Andy ran throught the usual security brief that the band expected when they had to go through an airport.

"Andy, you really don't have to worry," Bob replied, "Nobody ever recognises me on my own anyway."

"I'm not taking any chances, that's why both me and Tom are going." Andy said.

Bob rolled his eyes he truly hated all the extra stuff that came with being in the band. He tightly wrapped his arm around Jill as they followed Andy into the airport with Tom hanging about beside them.

"This is crazy," Bob whispered to Jill.

"Should I not just meet you inside, I don't want to cause any problems." Jill asked as she looked around them for anyone that might recognise Bob.

"Don't be daft," Bob replied, "honestly Jill I walk about all the time on my own and never get bothered."

Jill nodded as she anxiously walked with him. He eventually agreed to let her go when he had to check in and Jill stood with Tom. Tom recognised her from the tour and they both chatted away. Bob looked over as he heard her laughing and his heart skipped a beat as she so effortlessly chatted away to Tom.

"Sir.."

He knew he didn't want to leave her behind even for just one day and the sound of her laughing made him realise how much he was going to miss her.

"Sir."

The sound of the slightly tense voice snapped him out of his thoughts, "I'm really sorry," he instantly said as he accepted his passport and ticket. He walked straight back to her and put his arm around her as Tom moved away to stand beside Andy.

"Bob, are you going to the lounge?" Andy asked.

"Nah, you can only get in there is you have a ticket to fly and I want to spend some time with Jill before I have to go." Bob replied.

"Bob," Andy started before Bob shook his head and started to move away.

"Christ, why do they never let me finish?" Andy half moaned and half laughed to Tom.

"You know Bob, you probably should go the lounge," Jill said before laughing, "the lounge that sounds so fucking dull."

Jill was so busy laughing with Bob she didn't notice somebody walking up beside them.

"Is that you? Christ I would never have recognised you,"

Bob slightly groaned as he noticed Jill almost bolt from his side. Andy and Tom instantly jumped into action as they moved up beside Bob.

Jill looked at Bob with a completely horrified look. Bob smiled at her as if to say everything was okay before he turned his attention to the girl who was mysteriously not looking at him but at Jill.

"Christ Jill, I know you were probably hoping not to be seen looking like that but you can at least speak to me."

"Hi.....Kate," Jill said shifting away constantly from Bob hoping to god Kate wouldn't look at him.

"Well I'm just back from the most amazing break, yes Richard and I have been skiing in the Alps for the weekend." Kate said sounding as pompous as always.

"That's great, well I better be going," Jill said discreetly trying to get Bob to move away.

"Hey, why are you at the airport when I know you are working tomorrow?" Kate asked looking around remembering Jill had been with other people.

"Em I was just saying goodbye to some friends," Jill said, "I'll be going then."

Jill walked past Kate back towards Bob who was still staring with the most puzzled look on his face.

"Wait a minute," Kate almost shrieked.

"Run," Jill instantly said to Bob

"What?" Bob replied as Jill got him to turn away from Kate.

"I said run,"

"To the lounge?" Andy suggested.

"Yes as fast as possible," Jill begged.

"Jillllllll," Kate yelled as she watched the small group of people disappear behind a set of doors.

"What the hell was all that about?" Bob asked as Jill eventually stopped and slumped down in a chair.

"I'll leave you two alone then," Andy said as he and Tom discreetly left them to it.

"Fuck Bob, I'm totally up the shit creek." Jill moaned dramatically as Bob sat down beside her.

"Why, what's wrong, who was she?" Bob asked rubbing his hand up and down her back.

Jill closed her eyes at his touch before finally saying, "She's the one person you don't want to reveal anything to."

"Jill, honey you need to tell me about more than that?" Bob asked.

"She works with me but is a complete bitch, she makes my working life hell." Jill told him before adding, "Plus she's shagging the editor so she has complete control."

"So you think she recognised me?" Bob asked warily.

"I think so," Jill said feeling the tears, "Fuck Bob, it'll be all over the office tomorrow."

"You really think so?"

"I know so," Jill replied angrily.

"Would it bother you?" Bob asked.

"Yes," Jill said, "No Bob, I'm so happy to be with you but I don't want it to be so open."

"I embarrass you?" Bob asked feeling so hurt.

"No, embarrass me? Are you kidding?" Jill said amazed at his response,"I want to shout it from the top of this building but I'm just so private about my personal life especially in our gossip ridden office and from her she's the world's worst."

Bob nodded, "Well we'll just wait and see what happens and like I said before nobody ever recognises me without the others so you're probably worrying about nothing."

"You think so?" Jill asked

"Yep," Bob replied before pulling her in for a hug, "I love you Jill and I don't care who knows it."

"But I thought you wanted to keep everything private." Jill asked pulling away so she could see his face.

"I do but I don't want you to have a hernia worrying about this," Bob said trying to reassure her.

Jill nodded her head in agreement before she rested against him once more.

"I love you," she whispered.

"I know," Bob said kissing the top of her head, "You just tell me if she causes you any problem and I'll send Frank round to sort her out."

"You're kidding right," Jill laughed.

"No, you should see some of his friends and I'm the one from Chicago." Bob said laughing.

"I can tell you this, if Ruth saw him, he wouldn't even get passed her office."

"Why?" Bob asked intrigued.

"Because she would just grab him and well maul him," Jill replied before laughing out loud thinking of Ruth and her Frank ass fetish.

"But she has Justin," Bob replied.

"That wouldn't stop her and I better stop now before I thoroughly embarrass my friend."

They both froze as the door opened and Andy peeked in, "Hey guys, Bob your flights being called."

"Thanks Andy, I'll just be a minute." Bob replied as Jill moved away from him and stood up.

"You got everything now," Jill asked smiling.

"Yep," Bob replied never removing his attention from her, "I guess this is goodbye then."

"You have a safe flight and let me know you got there safe." Jill said doing her best to sound normal.

"I'll miss you," Bob said gently brushing her hair behind her ears.

"I'll miss you too but we'll see each other soon, "Jill replied trying to keep everything cheerful.

"Promise?" Bob asked pulling her close.

"I promise," Jill said burying her face into his chest and digging her nails into her hand to divert her senses.
She stood back and looked at him with the biggest smile, "You better go and get that flight or Brian with hunt me down."

Bob laughed before he moved towards her once more and kissed her tenderly at first and then as the passion took over she leaned into him and kissed him back with everything drop of energy she had left.

"I love you Jill," Bob whispered into her hair, "my Jilly."

"I love you too," Jill replied battling the tears so determined not to let them fall.

Bob hugged her once more before Andy reappeared and virtually dragged him out, not before he managed to break free and kiss her once more. Jill laughed at the sight of him being half dragged out of the room. Jill followed them out of the private area and she watched him walk into the departure area. He turned once last time and waved at her before finally disappearing from sight. Only then did she let the tears run down her face.
