  Quite a few years since you wrote this story but I hope you are still receiving accolades. It is a really good tale. And while not one of my all time faves, it is definitely memorable and will be re-read.

  Nice wrap up, but I would have personally preferred more time spent with Harry Hermione and Luna, and less with Draco and Pansy. I would have like seeing the development of the relationship between the three of them, as well as what happened to some of the other characters.
  
  Also, I may be forgetting something, but Hermione made a comment that she could not have children, but Rose was hers from Pansy, who was the host for James?"
  
  I think I agree with Red, and I'm going to guess Luna was the mother for the others? The ending was too sad though, you should've given them more time with her! :-(

  Yes, Luna was to the host for James, which is why Hermione could have used Luna's death to create a horcrux if she had wanted to

  Luna's offer there at the end wrecked me, man. I was just going along, yeah, sure, 20 years under a death sentence could change Hermione that much, OK, got it, moving on... and then got to that part. Damn.
  
  Great story. Wildly different take on things than I've seen before. I like the hints early on of ancient things gone since before the time of man. I've had thoughts along those lines myself, of the familiars of ancient Neandertal shamans going into hibernation after the early human wizards wiped out the older race due to faster breeding or some such thing.
  
  It's nice to see that even after all the fanfics I've read, I can still find something new.

  Loved the ending with Luna very nice, you don't see stuff like that much.
