  Another great chapter!! Tense and emotional. Loved the backstory from Matt's pov - he's really got an agenda going. I really hope he doesn't mess things up, but I have a feeling he'll try.

  I'm sorry I took so long to update, I've already written part of the next chapter. Actually it was supposed to be in this chapter but after I started typing it didn't fit in anymore.
  
  Thanks for thinking it was a great chapter it was really more of a filler before things start to really happen.
  
  Yes Matt certainly has an agenda. Obsessed much? For now he's going to try to prove to Gerard he's the better friend, but we'll see what happens in future chapters.
  
  The next few will be focusing more on Emily, we'll finally get to hear from the little girl at the center of all this.

  I don't think I like Matt very much...but I think that's the point isn't it lol. I'm kinda worried about what Matt is up to too..
  
  And I'm still torn about who Alyssa should be with. I hate being torn lol

  You know I love you (well not that kind of love) you know what I mean. You review all my stories and you can't even imagine how that makes me feel.
  
  LOL, yeah that is the point. In his mind he feels justified as he feels that he's helping his friend, and feels that Ray should never have come back into Gerard's life. He's really jealous of Ray, obviously.
  
  LOL, yeah both guys are really great and both seem to really love her. It's goint to be an interesting ride all the way to the end.
  
  I have so much planned for this story I hope you stick with it. Next chapter we'll hear from Emily. I'm really looking forward to writing it all.
  
  Thanks again for your kind words and taking your time to review. I know ficwad can be a pain to review on, even more of a pain to reply. Took me about eight times to respond. LOL!!! Enough of my ranting.

  You really shouldn't think of chapters like this as 'fillers'. They're not! They are essential pauses for character development and background. If we don't know what motivates a character, we don't care what they do. That's what I really love about your writing, you're not afraid to write a good thought or emotion provoking chapter, even if it doesn't move the plot along that much. That's why your stories are so good. Well, that and you're an excellent writer!!

  Hi there Sas,
  
  When I was writing using the word "filler" I was toying whether it was filler or character developement. But chose filler because like you said it didn't move the plot, but in a way it sort of did. It setting things up for things that will happen down the line.
  
  I really try to use each chapter as a way to the climax. I feel sad when a author gets stuck and doesn't know what to do with their story. I think we're alike in that we probably know how the story is going to end either when we think of the plot or very early on and write our stories around it. Always having a goal in sight. I only strayed once from that formula in my first story, To Save A Life.
  
  Thanks for the compliments coming from you is such an honor as I think the same of you.
  
  There should be more soon, I think I'm going to concentrate more on this story because I know where I want to head with it. I know plot points I want to hit so hopefully it's more about finding the time and motivation to put it to the computer.
  
  I hope you'll like it because I'm hoping it conveys the way I want it to.

  Thanks so much I appreciate all the kind words. I know read some amazing stories so it's great to know that you think that this chapter was amazing.
  
  I love how you always take the time to drop a quick line it really does a lot for ye olde self confidence.
  
  Yes Matt is definitely a trouble maker he is so up to no good. But we'll find out more about that later. The next at least one or two chapters will focus more on Emily.
