  Yes, that chapter fits in nicely with some of the more forward-looking Trek novels,
  
  PS -- don't forget the second season episode 'Catspaw' for Kirk and Co dealing with magic, even if that was after Harry had appeared

  Seems we'll have a "Mission Imagical" here. And have a sneaky feeling that Section 31 and the Unspeakables will be in this stories future. Plus a definite trip to Vulcan.
  
  Wonder if we'll run into a certain First Officer of an earlier Enterprise.

  I'm sorry I haven't reviewed the last two chapters, I was just being lazy.
  
  This chapter was a good 'tweener, setting up the next phase of the story. It moved quickly and you did a good job of pulling the Star Fleet command staff together.
  
  The Catian Admiral was an interesting addition to this. You've pulled out a lesser known race that I don't think existed outside of the "Log" books and the animated series the "Log" books were adapted from. If we see more of the Catians, can you toss in references to some of Niven's Kzinti or Slavers?
  
  For some reason it doesn't surprise me that technology has found an explanation of 'magic'. Mentioning 'Where No Man Has Gone Before' was a nice touch.
  
  Oh, as I expected, Harry's on a fast track, much like how his step-brother was.

  Great part here, and really loking forward to what all happens with Harry now, especially that he looks to be on a fast track of promotion if he can keep it up. I hope he gets to go to Vulcan, as well as meeting the other races, and will he be a trouble/girl magnet like he is in so many fics? I wrote an omake concerning the sister of a certain Klingon, and her challenging Harry in the name of luuuv, LOL. Looking forward to when Harry gets assigned to a starship, and how he may react to some of the encounters that Enterprise and other ships have had with what would be considered magical beings. Liked the Catian admiral, and hope to see more races from the expanded ST -verse.

  Another very well written chapter, with a nice development of explaining what has happened to 'magic' and possibilities for the future.

  So, Starfleet is going to recruit some of their "detected but unrecognized" wizards and witches for a "black project", against the day they are needed, getting them trained up under Harry's tutilage.
  
  There are plenty of spinoffs from this premise, so I trust that this AU Harryverse won't end with just this story. "Welcome to Fleet Intelligence, otherwise known as the Department of Oxymorons, Lt. Potter."

  Oh the Fleet will be doing some recruiting and for a very black project, but not in the manner that your thinking.
  
  Now I have a few ideas for one shots and a few other stories, but mostly I'm not really sure what I want to due with this universe after this story is done. If you want to write up a short story based on this universe go ahead, but all I ask is that if your short fits in this universe, I have permission to use it in this story at a later date.

  An interesting set of observations in this chapter. The possibility that magical ability may be suprisingly common is something that is easily extrapolatable from both the Trek and HP canon and I think that you used this flexibility very well here. It is also the case that directed magic/esper power may not be as interesting and attractive now as it once was.
  
  I'm waiting for someone to point out the similarity between the Statue of Secrecy and the Prime Directive. I wonder how much these rules will be bent in the years to come.
  
  Finding a way to find and destroy the Horacruxes is going to be an interesting side-story. I still think that one day, Harry is going to meet a telepath who is going to tell him about the other thing in his head (BTW - I suspect that the Last Horacrux is how Voldemort has some tiny power left). However, for now, I'm looking forward to the stories of the first Wizard and Witch in Starfleet.

  That makes Harry first in his class to be promoted, doesn't it?
  
  If Harry's a horcrux (I've never figured out how that would be possible), then the Vulcans might very well be able to extract it for him.
  
  Harry might still have some gold and other goodies in a vault in Gringotts.
