2 reviewsGerard gets nosey and Sarahs biggest secret is found out.
1Exciting
“Hey, changed my mind. I’m gonna stay in tonight and veg out with a movie. You still wanna come over?”
I slipped my phone back in my pocket as I shut the front door behind me and grabbed the mail from the floor.
“Bill, bill, bill” I muttered flicking the letters on the table. “And… shit… I missed Lizzy’s birthday” I hissed pulling my phone outta my pocket and checking the date. I tapped a reminder into my phone to write back to Clair later. My phone buzzed just as I was about to put it back in my pocket.
“I’d say that’s best!! I’m wrecked myself. Will I come over now?”
“Yeah, sure” I typed back as I walked to the kitchen.
I leaned against the counter top as I ripped open the letter.
I ginned as I read through the letter. Clair always wrote so much. She filled me in on every second of Lizzy’s birthday party and just how fast she was growing up. I pulled a wad of pictures from the envelope and my heart jolted as I saw Lizzy’s face shining out from the picture. She obviously took it herself cause it was taken so close to her own face. She was grinning like mad. I sighed as I flicked through the rest. I couldn’t wait to see her again.
The doorbell rang shrilly as I dropped the photos on the table next to the letter and I flicked the envelope over them.
“Hey there,” Gerard grinned as I pulled the door open. He waved a Dvd in my face as he stepped past me into the hall. “I hope you don’t mind, I brought Fight Club with me cause it’s the BEST movie in the world in my opinion”
“I hope you don’t mind that I’m probably a bigger fan than you” I laughed gesturing to the massive movie promo poster that nearly covered one whole wall of my living room.
“Jesus” He gasped, nearly drooling on my carpet.
“I’ll leave you to your drooling so while I go have a shower. You can help yourself to the kitchen or whatever” I gestured down the hall as I climbed up the stairs.
Gerard’s P.O.V
‘Fuckin hell, Its so clean in here’ he thought to himself as he entered her kitchen. Every surface gleamed. There was a letter on the counter and my curiosity got the better of me. I flicked the envelope over and the post mark was from Chicago. I glanced towards the stairs to make sure Sarah wasn’t coming back. The shower whirred to life above me so he picked the letter up.
‘Who hand writes letters these days, Don’t people just email now?!’ I scanned down the letter. Four pages. Holy crap. I flicked to the last page and read the closing of the letter.
“We can never thank you enough for what you have done for us. You were so selfless and we appreciate it more and more every day as we watch Elizabeth flourish. I cant believe its been three years already!! You truly are a saint to us and we love you so much. We’ve explained to Lizzy about who you are and she completely understands. She is such a smart child! She sends her love and she wants to know when her mommy is coming back to see her? We’d love to have you with us and Lizzy would especially love it. I do hope your getting on well and I hope you like the pictures.
Lots of love
Clair and Lizzy xx”
“Weird… I’m pretty confu-“ His mind ground to a halt as he saw the picture of a smiling child. A smiling child with Sarah’s nose, her mouth but not her eyes… they looked more like-
“Gerard” Sarah’s voice cut through my reverie like a knife. I spun around to face her.
“What are you doi-“ her voice caught in the throat as her eyes dropped to the photos in my hands. She was by my side in a flash and she ripped the photos from my grip and clutched them to her chest.
“How much did you read?” she hissed at me. I couldn’t tear my eyes away from the glossy photo of the smiling child. And her eyes, the childs eyes were a stunning colour of -
“I said how much?!” she nearly screamed at me.
“Enough” was all I managed to choke out. Her face was whiter that a sheet.
Lizzy had Franks eyes.
A/N My first update in a while. Let me know what you think!! I wanna know if I should continue on with this!!
